Oh my sweet friend, don’t worry if anyone has a problem with you being too thorough that’s their malfunction , that why there’s a fast forward button! I appreciate like almost everyone here you being so thorough! You are an amazing teacher! Love you!💙💙💙💙💙💙💙👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 thank you!
Well dear man, what a treat to find your blog! Was making the Billow hat, and found out to my astonishment the tutorial didn't include the rim of the hat, and so trolled youtube to find an alternative and found YOU! You are so gentle and calm, you explain everything in detail (what a wonderful teacher) and just want to thank you so much for all your wonderful stuff, inc your chats etc. Am now a subscriber and can't wait to make more of your patterns. Cx
Hello, I have been crocheting and knitting for 60 years, I am 68 now.. so it takes me 20 seconds to learn a new stitch, however, I always leave the videos on from start to finish as I am crocheting... all creators keep me company, as we all speak the same language of crochet and knitting. Thank you for your lovely videos.
Thank you so much for being so very thorough. At 73, I need that. Even though I learned to crochet 65 years ago, I need the definition you describe and show with every stitch. Thank you very much for taking the time I need ❤
I love that you repeat yourself. I'm a very slow learner since I'm a beginner therefore I don't care if others have a problem, I LOVE IT. Thank you, thank you for you educating beginners like me!!❤❤❤❤I do appreciate your time and work!!!
Yes 👍🏻 Minnie , I said the same thing ! I started about 2 years ago and I still appreciate our sweet Spider’s thorough tutorials! He’s so right that the placement can be confusing! I am still learning so much , I consider myself a intermediate beginner, but being a hands on learner I won’t learn the stitches just by watching I have to do it along with the tutorial after watching it first , I start it again with my yarn 🧶 and supplies and begin , and I love the fact that Craig is always so thorough even if it’s a one row repeat he goes over it a few times ! I wish he really knew how much we appreciate and value his teachings! Happy crocheting my yarnie friend ☺️☺️🥰😘😊
I was able to follow up, because you had a close up view and explained very well. I have followed other tutorials and had to give up cause they didn't explained or just thought we could read their minds. Thank you so very.
I just love your videos. This beanie looks beautiful!!! Your voice is so calming 😊. You are so patient taking your time to teach us n explain each round. Thank you n God bless
Wow - I just made a version of the beautiful Alpine stitch hat that someone else had posted on UA-cam. The pattern didn't start until round 7 and I wanted to send you a message to please create a verion of it that starts at the crown ... and here it is! Thank you Spider - just beautiful! The ombre yarn really lends itself to this pattern.
Hello 2024🎉 I am back making this hat again, I've gotten so many compliments on this hat I made last season. Beautiful design ,fits well and stays in shape. Love it. ❤
Omg I love your tutorials! I honestly have tried to watch and learn from many people and I always shut it off and go searching for Fiber Spider! Your the one person I love to learn from!
Just did this one and looks so good. As someone with ADHD and one arm I appreciate those that are thorough 😉 Even after 8 years of crocheting I still consider myself a beginner /intermediate because of how hard it takes me to learn stitches and how quickly I forget them
Hello Mr Spider Fiber....I can't tell you just how much you have helped me in ALL your tutorials...you are amazing, LOVE your humour.....Ok, so I can't read a pattern....and I rely totally on tutorials....I can't thank you enouth....all the way from East London, South Africa.....I look forward to all your new tutorials.....much love and hugs
I made this for my son a few years ago, I hate crocheting but I made myself a scarf on my loom and had extra of the same yarn left over. I'm jealous of his hat, I had to do like 10 videos to figure out how to inc/dec stitching in the round with alpine last time and you made it so easy to follow. Thank you!!
This hat will be great for men's hats for charity! They always want very warm hats. Thanks for helping me find a new stitch pattern! I'm "hooked" on your channel! Thanks so much!
I've had this beautiful yarn (that my mom gifted me) sitting around forever. It was not enough for a scarf but too much for a regular hat. Thank you so much for inspiring me to finally use it
I love that you are thorough. By me be left handed I have do things in reverse. Some tutorials are hard to follow but not yours. So thank you very much 😊
I for one appreciate your time and thoroughness as you teach us new patterns. I know that some need to see every round until the end. I just wanna know how you saw me when I rolled my eyes...Lmbooooo. I do understand why you repeat every stitch. God Bless you for repeating each stitch because I couldn’t do it! Thank you so much for sharing! Hugs 🤗. Robin
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Your calm and easy going voice, with clear instructions that are easy to follow in making this hat. The video quality, lets me see the stitches and know where to stitch next. Your patience and desire to have us succeed with this project comes shining through this entire video! :) It fills me with confidence in my abilities as a crocheter. Thank you again!
Thank you so much for your pattern. I really appreciate your style of teaching. I tried watching other tutorials and came to find you when I couldn't keep up. Bless you FP...
Such a handsome hat with lovely light blue. I love the double crochet, and front post stitches. They are very easy to crochet. Thank you for sharing , and have a great day.
Hi Spider Thank you for this hat tutorial. I love the design of this hat. The color is gorgeous too. I like the other 2 hats too.. You are such a thorough teacher I appreciate it very much. It is very helpful and you are easy to follow.💜👍
I've watched many tutorials and LOVE yours and find them VERY helpful. The difference being how well you explain everything! I've been crocheting for quite a while but still have issues once in a while and need to slow the video down. After figuring it out, I would think. If they would have only mentioned one simple thing it would have been easier! So I appreciate your detailed explanations as you work the project! I watched a tutorial of the same type of hat but it didn't start at the crown and the decrease was very difficult. Thank you for this video!!!
Oh my goodness, you are soooo good at making a project that is a litle more complicated easy to understand. I didn't realize this was a two part video, I'm loving the whole process and can't wait to see the finished hat, I'm heading to part two to finish this lovely hat. As a visual learner I want to Thank you for making such great instructional videos!!!!
Hello Fiber Spider 🕷️ I know this tutorial is from a while ago but I've been following it and I really love the pattern. It really is beautiful. Thank you for taking the time to post a thorough tutorial. It has made it easier for me to follow and understand. Onto Part 2 for me! 😊
Just found your tutorials!!!! Thank You Thank You - this will make perfect gifts for the upcoming Christmas - I know it’s only April, but I’ll need the time to make for all those on my list. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you for being so thorough and easy to listen to.
This is a cool that looks great. I am enjoying making and I am so glad you are being through with showing the stitches as some of the rounds was a little confusing to me. But after watch it a couple times and you showing the complete round I was able to finish that round. I am looking forward to part two. You are amazing at teaching us how to make your projects and I am going to make more of them.
Hello Craig! Lovely hat. I was made many of yours patterns for birthdays gifts . I am hope soon doing one hat for my daughter Natalia she loves used its. Thank you for your tutorial and Stay Safe! 😊🥰😍👍😷😻
I just finished this hat using a rust color Lion Brand yarn and it's beautiful! Thank you so much for the detailed directions. I was able to crochet along with you, which I loved. The only thing I did differently was to use a magic ring. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise!.
Looks like another good hat for my friend. Hopefully she will have so many she won't miss her hair! Thankfully she has a really positive outlook. Lol I'm worried enough for both of us. Thank you again! Onto part 2
Now winter in Australia - time to knit beanies. Thank you so much for taking the time to go through the earlier steps so thoroughly. My beanie looks perfect so far. It was so much fun knitting alongside you with this beanie. Your instructions are very easy to understand and follow, even for a beginner like me. Very, very much appreciated.....💖🙂💗
Thank you so much for your very thorough tutorial. I must admit that I tried following someone else on UA-cam for this same pattern and kept getting lost 😞 I really wanted to use this stitch pattern to make a cotton/bamboo hat for my sister who is going through chemotherapy. So, when I saw that Fiber Spider had a tutorial for the Alpine Stitch Hat I was soooooo Happy 😊 Your tutorials are always so clear and thorough. I followed each and every round without any mistakes! 😊 Now I am off to watch the Part 2 Video 🎉 and finish my Beautiful Alpine Stitch Hat 😃 Thanks again, Lora Raymer
Just learned to crochet but have been afraid to try anything except flat work (blankets & scarves.) But your instructions are very clear, & the video shows perfect degree of close-up to see how stitches are done. Will be trying this soon.
I saw someone else do an increase with front posts a little differently. Might be a little easier? You do the double crochet in the top of the stitch and then you do it around the post which I think makes it easier to find the top of the stitch... Just a suggestion! Thanks for all of your wonderful tutorials!
Nice! I love love love this Alpine Stitch, it looks so nice! This color way is beautiful (teal) and the other solid brown color as well. I will be back time and again to see this I am sure. Thanks so much for sharing this tutorial. Loved seeing you on Rose's LIVE... I was enjoying it so so much when it was just you and her, then after so many others showed up I ended up having to (go)..... hope to see you again soon on more Lives... Take care and Please Stay Safe!!
Ok so, somebody was nice enough to give me a bunch of variegated yarn. I'm grateful, but there's a slight issue. It's HIDEOUS!!🤣. I've been trying to figure out what to do with it for ages. I got the bright idea to do this hat in white, with the sc rows in this variegated stuff that I have dubbed "circus yarn" because of the color scheme. The end result was absolutely stunning and I wish I could post a pic of it here but it won't let me lol. I carried the yarn so I didn't even have to cut anything when I changed colors! I figured I'd throw the idea out there because not only was it gorgeous, but we all have "that yarn"lol. Great stash buster idea too!
So I used a light weight size 3 yarn (truboo by lions brand) a size 4 hook and I skipped the last 2 increases to make a baby hat with this pattern !!! I didn’t count how many rows I did after I stopped increasing just kept going till it looked right😅 I love this pattern I hated the ones that didn’t start at the top. Thank you!!
Such an awesome tutorial. You have a calm, easy to listen to voice. Your instructions are detailed and clearly explained. I’ve noticed that some people use a row of sc and others a row of hdc. What might be the difference in the look of the stitch between sc and hdc?

I didn’t count how many rows I did after I stopped increasing just kept going till it looked right😅 I love this pattern I hated the ones that didn’t start at the top. Thank you!!
Such an awesome tutorial. You have a calm, easy to listen to voice. Your instructions are detailed and clearly explained. I’ve noticed that some people use a row of sc and others a row of hdc. What might be the difference in the look of the stitch between sc and hdc?
