FINALLY The long awaited review of the Air Arms S200. 5 years I have been shooting this rifle, and it's a cracker. I have no idea what category it fit's in. All I can say is it shoots above its weight, and makes my poor shooting skills look good.
The news reel footage is from Pathe stuff, from the 40's and 50's when England would play in India or Australia. I love watching the old news reels. But I have little knowledge of Cricket back in the old times.
** In some versions an air gauge is on the front, and also multi shot can be bought in one, however I think that may be only in the USA, but I may be wrong. Sorry am not up on the stock and all the options, I just shoot the rifles.

I have owned my .177 S200 for coming up for 10 years now. It is one of many airguns in my collection and one of 3 PCP rifles I own. It is probably my favourite rifle to shoot and I shoot it better than anything else I have. I like the light weight, the trigger is fantastic and I refer to it as my laser gun, getting groups totally comparable to the gentleman's shooting in this review. Mine really does its best work with H&N FT&T pellets but it is not particularly fussy which is great. It's one of those guns that you pretty much can't go wrong with. There are many upgrades and aftermarket parts available too. I have kept mine stock but if any plastic part bothers you a brass or aluminium replacement is easily available.
I can't argue with anything said in this review. It's a really good design and you get such good performance for your money. Even after all these years I'm still using it regularly and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. The only real potential negative is that some people might find it a little small but even that can be effectively overcome by fitting a thicker butt pad if you are a big lanky person! A silencer really is a must if you've got neighbours though as it is loud as mentioned in this excellent review.

I own a MK1 and it must be 20 years old now..I have fitted a regulator and that definitely have improved the shot to shot count..The rifle also has the 10 shot adapter fitted..I Absolutely love this little rifle, it's no longer made which is a shame because it's as accurate as you could wish for..I think Air Arms should have developed it more than they did over the years.. that said my S200 is fantastic and when I think I paid £180 for it new.. what value was that.. Overall it is a fantastic little accurate rifle..

Good to see you back this side of the pond. Only taken five years since the short review but you got there. S200 probably the best under rated gun on the market lots of upgrades and costom parts available. I was given mine about a year ago as a non worker with 10 mag .22 cal £5.99 for a new set of seals and all was good.done more to it since regulator, thumb hole stock, Rowan engineering trigger and bolt now getting around 70-75 usable shots per 200 bar fill and getting 10 shot group at 35 yards under a 5p coin every bit as accurate as my rat works ultra ( which has cost almost 3 times as much don't tell my wife)
Had this rifle for 3 years and never let me down wish I had it back now even thou my daystate wolverine c type does the bizz and my W 110 but still love the S200. 👍👍👍
I've had a lot of air guns but my S200 with silencer, 10 shot multishot magazine shoots amazing. Definitely one of the more accurate Airgun's I've had. Terrific rifle. In UK there £499 new for gun only and about £80 for 10 shot upgrade kit and about £50 for silencer and adaptor. I've added a foster fitting for quick filling, a anodised aluminium cap and brass barrel band and bolt. Just want to get a regulator now. I get about 55 shots from mine which is super accurate. You will definitely love this little rifle.
I totally agree with you! This little S200AA is so amazing! I know 6 months have passed since your comment, but just to let you know. Mine is shooting REALLY well, and I just got the Altaros External Regulator! Tomorrow I will be fitting it onto the cylinder, can't wait!! Hope you finally got your regulator by now!! :-) :-)

I just got this rife today. I did put a different scope on it because it has zoom. The stock scope is very clear I’m sure it’s good , but I shoot out to 25 yards and beyond. Very Impressed with this rifle. This is my first Gamo I have several other brands but I like this one as well.

The s200 it's in the top most accurate air guns out there.
I own one and I’m 10 years old it’s so good just learning more.
Have had the .22 and still have one in .177. Personally think it's one the best air rifles in Air Arms portfolio, if not the best, but I'm biased :) Hope that Air Arms/CZ eventually do an updated side lever version, that's regulated out of the box. Great video as usual Giles! Looking forward to the next one.
I have the CZ200S, the guy I bought it from used JSB 8.44gr, I found that the JSB 10.34gr are a little better as an all round pellet
Great rifle. My first PCP & I love it. JSB exact & heavy, H&N excite work well with mine. Gamo pellets are a tight fit and I’d avoid using it
Great video, thanks! Bought one recently as my first pcp. Excellent backyard rifle with a silencer fitted. The 10 shot conversion is worth it! Mine works best with JSB 8.44gr 4.53mm. Close to 13 ft lbf. I’m loving it. Fits well in my arsenal under the 22LR.

At £450 from my favourite shop this has to be the best starter PCP. A cheapo tele and pump from E-Bay and you will still have change out of £550. The only downside is the lack of a fill gauge .... so you'll have to learn to count and keep a note. Top kit from AA as usual.

Best pcp of its type no question, reasonably priced, accurate, reliable and jack of all trades. My. 22 showed major preferences for Air Arms Field 5.52mm and 190 bar charge 55 shots at 11.2ftlb average with 15mm groups (benched) at 50 yards.Mine needed a good pull through and 50 rounds to settle barrel in though. Nice review Giles iv subbed.
It is a magnificent rifle for sure , there's lots of pellet testing ect on " Steve's shakngley seriously shooting show " he's is 6 ftlb and accurate as you'd ever want it for Target shooting ... Got it all blinged up with gold ( brass I recon ) bits ... Great vid there Giles ..super informative but

I have a question of you , and by the way do enjoy all of your very informative and fun videos. Here it is then. If shooting any pellets of your choosing in .177 caliber under 495 feet per second , of which would you choose for accuracy, naming 3 if possible. Best regards .

Try a pellet they recommend for pistol shooting ( max 6ftlb ) normally the JSB 7.6 grn ( think it's .6 or something like that ) I'll check

Honestly now, the next few sentences will be very hard to believe but EVERYTHING said is 100% true...
I started my hunting and pesting years ago, when I lived in California. I knew farmers, and land owners with plenty of acres that held cows and horses. Sometimes breaking a limb because of the incredible overpopulation of ground squirrels and rabbits. I have owned some wonderful PCP air rifles, the FX impact was probably THE best I had used. BUT, the accuracy of my well loved S200AA was to die for!! Most of my pesting was done with that little rifle. Took the scope off my IMPACT, a very expensive 8x32-50 SF scope as my kill shots ranged from 20-100 yards!! The S200AA power it was tuned to only 13-14fpe!!
With the 1.77 caliber JSB 10.34 heavies! Also had a moderator on it. The trigger was set at 1 lb. And I ALWAYS cared TWO small air cylinders with me. I can honestly say that "the kill shots" were absolutely INCREDIBLE!! I was in awe!! That little rifle and a grand scope which cost me 2 1/2 times more than the rifle itself was a match made in heaven!! Still to this day, I can be mesmerized by so many INCREDIBLE kill shots on the rabbits, and ground squirrels up north in California. I mainly used the FX IMPACT for hogs, which dropped like butter (shot placement around the ear) worked every time.
Crap! Let's hope they don't up the price on this little gem now...

Bought one second hand last year and it's a very good light air rifle. Mine's an early two piece stock and that nut at the back is a bit of a pain but it shoots very consistently and very accurate. Rats don't like it

They want $800.00 U.S. for these... they are not cheap at all. I got excited and was going to buy my daughter one because it was described as a great deal and cost as much as the scope. Not even close. There are way better PCP air guns for hundreds less.

Hi Giles, a great review to kick off 2018, i am sorry to say,but the so called 'Air Arms' S200 is way overpriced,for £10 more in my RFD you can buy a Proper Air Arms rifle,a S400.nuff said,alternatively if you want multi shot buy a BSA Ultra SE
