Mine took about 2 months in the big propagator at a 24/24 temperature above 30°c with a constant high humidity to germinate 60%, they all germinated during one week in october. The next 20% took about a month longer. The final 20% didn't survive, despite talking a lot of precautions to prevent roy and mould from growing from growing, the final seeds started to rot after 6 months. Because I have to do most of my seed germinating iunder complete artificial conditions; given the temperate maritime climate with mild winters and cool summers that we live in here, I am pretty happy with the results. The seedlings still grow like crazy, despite it's almost freezing outside and we are close to the shortest day of the year... They are standing in front of a south west facing window on the first floor of our house, in an unheated room, where the average temperature is about 18°c. Meanwhile the palms grew about 3/4 times bigger than when they just germinated :D
Stalk other people’s trees…I found lots on commercial property that’s abandoned , sago palms at my dentist (about 80 seeds) and free is best. I do want a few palms that aren’t typical here so I’ll be looking on eBay. Good luck to ur seeds.
Generally, if a cleaned palm seed doesn't sink in water, the seed is bad. That's why you should do a float test with all the seeds you intend to sow. One time I bought a packet of 50 Roystonea regia (Cuban royal palm) seeds from an online vender. Everyone one of the seeds floated. I sowed them in potting soil anyway -- and none of them germinated. Needless to say I never again bought seeds from that vendor.

Does your container have any drain holes in it and do you cover them in the container?
Thank you for the video. Did you nick the seed at all first?
My next growing project :-) cool palm
variety!
How long do you think bf you would plant outside? Ty!
What are the size pots u plant them in after germination?
Very cool. Where did you get your seeds? How long does it take for them to germinate?
I get my seeds from suppliers in Florida. Germination typically takes several months.

@@CraigMoser Were they floating in water as mine are?
Do u keep the container covered?
Does it really work ?!
Just started this. Do you put the tray in the sun?
Didn't work for me. Tried twice.
But what worked is when I put the seeds in a sealed bag with soil. 3 out of 7 😀
But how get
but as you collect the seeds and choose them to sow
Let’s see some baby palms.
Do bismarckia seeds float on water or do they go to the bottom?

All of my Bismarck were floating! I will see if they germinate.
They don't smell good.
