Copycat or genuine idea? Here are 14 riffs you might have realized that do sound pretty much close to each other. It happens to everyone... not just unknown bands haha. Slayer and Inspector Gadget have been my fav in this video xD
Also thank you so much for the huge feedback I received for my fist "😲 Metallica = Blink-182?!? - Is this THE SAME Guitar Riff!?! 😲" riff list! This means a lot to me =)

*Actually Slayer = Inspector Gadget = In The Hall Of The Mountain King 😂 How did you enjoy this video?*
hi Jassy, i always enjoy your performances. I think it's almost impossible nowadays to invent a riff that hasn't been done by any guitarist anywhere =)
Your cover of E1M1 is better than the original. I love it! Very nice collection.
I wish your chat mods knew what equal rights means. I stand up about a female stereotyping men and get called the bad guy? Millbrook if you read this get an education dude seriously.
@@Me-qp8vz No one was stereotyping men. Sarah explained later in the chat you misinterpreted her chat message - and maybe even me - even if I underlined that I am just talking about these who are being bad because of their actions. 90% of the rest are perfectly respectful. Please... read carefully before misinterpreting something in the wrong way. It just causes much more misunderstandings. And hence you having now a problem how you were treated just shows that this subject is so important to talk about. But not with making accusations against each other. Just talk normally and ask if you didn't understand something right away 🙏🏻
@@Me-qp8vz not all men arguments are deliberate silencing tactics. Of course not all men are like that. Nobody ever said they were. When a woman speaks out about her experiences, that is not stereotyping men.
The thought of Tom Araya screaming "INSPECTOR GADGET!!!" fills me with joy
This comment is so wholesome hahaha 😹
You should send him an email...
You would love this mashup by Bill McClintock then: Slayer vs Catriona & The Waves, "Chemical Warfare (Don't It Feel Good)" 😆
ua-cam.com/video/7MrMfoHejiw/v-deo.html
@@chiefaberach Bill is an absolute master.
I wish ! 😊
Back in the 80s me some friends used to joke about how South of Heaven and Inspector Gadget was the same riff. It's nice to know someone else noticed.
Awesome!
Many years ago I went to see my mate’s band play a gig. Chatting to them after I said “ I liked the one that segued into Inspector Gadget, that was funny”. There was silence and one guitarist stormed off. It turned out that he’d written that riff, the others told him of the similarities but he insisted that it was nothing like it.
It wasn't Converge was it? ua-cam.com/video/OVq6WS8EW28/v-deo.html
That's hilarious
I had a buddy that spent ages writing Close My Eyes Forever. He wrote lyrics and everything. I feel real bad not telling him but by the time I remebered where I'd heard the riff before it was way too late.
The Killing Joke/Nirvana riff goes back to the Dammed & life goes on.
It’s always happened, Deep Purples Black Night is a Blues Magoos riff which in turn is from Ricky Nelsons version of summertime
Or as Pete Seegar's father would have put it “Plagiarism is basic to all culture.”
The thought of Slayer having taken one of the most evil riffs in metal history from Inspector Gadget of all people gives me life😂😂😂
Both are essentially based on "In The Hall Of The Mountain King" 😃
It doesn't get more metal than that. \m/
I thought the beginning of the riff from the chorus of Judas Priest's The Ripper was similar to Inspector Gadget.
@@geoffreyanderson2285 Yeah, IG was metal af...........
Inspector Gadget was a G
I was actually just going to mention the thing about In the Hall of the Mountain King before I saw your comment. I'm not surprised both Slayer and Inspectot Gadget used it. Its a very catchy tune and, as seen here, can be used as the foundation for some brilliant tunes. Plus it is just an all around epic piece. Thank you so much for this video! Amazing!
I like how JJ couldn't stop smiling playing Du Hast. :) That tune is so awesome. :)
Great job with the compilation.
Thank you! I always have much fun with these „same riff“ compilations 😊👌 the joy of music 🎶
@@JassyPabst You're welcome. I really enjoy the same riff compilations. It's amazing where the influence can come from with some of the successful hits commercially. (Inspector Gadget one was awesome. XD) I used to do song mashups when I performed a few years ago. So much fun to do. :)
I find out a lot of times when I'm writing music that when I have my daughter or a friend hear it they say... oh, that sounds like.... , and I didn't realize it myself until they pointed it out. A lot of what we create often is a reflection of something we once heard and liked or simply subconscious rendering.
That always bugs me . I was with a band and we were trying to come up with something original . We had a riff that we had goind , sounded good till I realised it had similar notes to Powerslave by Iron Maiden
I have the same thing happen to me!😂
To me the opposite happened. In the early 2000's, I remember listening to a hit single by the band White Stripes, when I was in a night club. I didn't even know the band, I don't even like them, in general. Imagine my frustration when I realized that the main riff of their song, was pretty much the same of a song of MINE, that I had written a couple of years before lol.
Let's not forget the post-chorus breakdown riff in Metallica's "Motorbreath" (1983) with Judas Priest's bridge riff in "Rapid Fire" (1980)
And now I want to hear Slayer cover Inspector Gadget 😆
Having read a multitude of interviews with John Romero from ID Software, the Slayer album "South of Heaven" was being played a lot in the office during DOOM game development, and the song from the first level was supposedly based on the song "Behind The Crooked Cross".
There's one song that's straight up a copy of Them Bones by Alice In Chains.
@@VesterDude The fourth level is "Rise" by Pantera.
a lot of the songs were real songs with slight changes. a few songs are just real songs doom-ified, one level is literally just we die young by alice in chains
Love it! I guess it's to be expected. To quote Bono of U2, "Every poet is a thief." Or in this instance, every songwriter...😃
OMG I never knew how much South of Heaven sounds almost identical to My Own Summer by Deftones! Also, I love that Inspector Gadget tone. Sounds VERY CKY
Seeing them side by side like this is so much fun. Great video!
Love it ! - you are so smooth.
Ahh I can't get enough of guitarists whom shed so clean ❤️🙃
DAMNNN! She knows how to shred on At Doom’s Gate.
Another really fun video, nicely done Jassy. 👍 It's fascinating how easy it is to overlook the fact that songs have similar, or even identical riffs, until it is pointed out!🙂 Oh, and I just love those facial expressions.
I absolutely love these videos. This entertaining as hell. It’s fun
Dobro zapažanje devojko i lepo odsvirano. I naravno, prelep izgled... 😀
Very enjoyable. Well done as always. Thanks
Michael Herrell
Thank you Michael!
The inspector gadget theme is also a similar note progression to the Alton Towers theme (forget what the actual song is) as well as the TV show Casualty.
Couldn't help but notice the smile when you started playing Du Hast... it is medicinal.
Was waiting for you to go in to Just One Fix. That was sick.
Love the music and your personality while playing. It's amazing the songs you hear in other music when you play an instrument you pick up on it more than non musicians imo
On top of the great riff playing your facial expressions make this video shine like the star you are! Really makes me smile to see the enjoyment you clearly had in putting this together for us. Also reminded me to wipe the dust off my Ministry CD's and give them another listen sometime. Great as always, Rock On!
Cool video, crazy observations 👍
Love outside the box thinking. Keep shreddin amiga🤘🤙
This was absolutely awesome as always ❤️💛 You're the best
Much love always from Australia 🇦🇺
I had never thought of that before but knew what you meant the moment I contemplated the thumbnail. That's too funny!
That was great! It's crazy how similar the songs are to each other!
Thank you! I always enjoy it to detect such similarities!
Awesome never been here but immediately subbed ! I just saw a new car commercial last night and in the first opening seconds it is using the breakdown/ bridge section of Owner of a Lonely Heart. I do not know what cars it was advertising.
You just earned a sub today! Loved this so much!
An interesting selection, as well as the previous issues are very exciting and most importantly, insanely positive. I admit, I've never focused my attention on the similarity of riffs, but it's really amazing... they have similarities. It was a great idea to create such releases. Very well done. Thank you so much for the video 🎸🎸🎸
Thank you, that was a masterfull demo ^^
Holy crap is the first time I've ever seen one of your videos and I must say I am absolutely impressed.
Hey Billy! Thank you very much! 😊🤘🏻 You will find a bunch of more videos on my channel, I guess I surpassed 500 uploads last year 😂🤘🏻
I have been messing with my guitar for years but because of my busy work and family schedules and life, I have not.been able to progress as fast as I want. Now, getting up in the years, nearly 60, I take inspiration from players like you.
Keep rocking, you are doing fantastic.
Saugeiles Video!!🥳😂🤘
I've never actually caught that with SLAYER and Inspector Gadget... Kinda interesting actually. Good Job bringing the similarities to light.😎👍
Killing Joke‘s „Eighties“ also gave me a vibe of Rolling Stones „I can‘t get no(Satisfaction)“
Loving these! You rock Jassy as always🤘
Hell yeah! Thanks man!
This video was awesome jassy 🤘💟💟
Thank you very much Stewart!!
You're welcome! 🙂
You don't mess with Ministry....Grandpa Jourgensen gonna get ya. LOL AWESOME job JJ, as always.
G'day from Australia, liked & subscribed. Killing joke is one of the most underrated bands on the planet
Thank you for reminding me about Ministry JJ!
You’re welcome 🤘🏻😊
Nice! Your guitar sounds awesome!
Loved it!! Thank you! 😊 🤗
Loved the Doom theme. Great stuff Jassy!
I like the similar stuff and love the faces you make between similar songs😅
Brilliant 👍. Loved them all.😊
Thanks Gregory!
Good selection Jassy great playing thanks for the variety enjoyed it a lot!!!
Happy to hear Ray! Thank you!!
Yay. You did the Ministry/Rammstein riff
Great video as always. I miss seeing your red nails. Was a signature look you had.
Halloween also used In the Hall Of The Mountain King on Helloween itself. The part leading into that stinging solo.
Need to check it! Classic music themes always seem to be good source material - this one song especially 😊👍
Damn. The motley crue, ac DC spot the same. And also I picked up nirvana first note. Good one Jass!!!
Loving the purple and gold by the way
I'm glad I'm not the only one to see the Ministry/Rammstein similarity (Ministry has been my favorite since around 1989). But what about Enter Sandman & Beat It? We used to jam Enter Michael Jackson at band practice. 😂
Ohhhhh I can hear this now! I wouldn’t have thought about these similarities before 🤩
Great and funny rifflist👍
You are so freaking amazing! ❤🔥
i saw-seasons in the abyss-fresno ca ears r still ringing years later-and ive been 2 many air shows
nicely done, you make it look easy
Thank you Ralph! Most of these riffs aren’t too hard to play 😊🤘🏻
@@JassyPabst im going to sub, just because you fkn rock!!!!
seasons in the abyss from slayer is the same as crazy on you from Heart. almost exactly!
You're a lovely lady - great riff analysis! Great playing too! Given that there are only 12 notes in a half tone scale, it's amazing this doesn't happen more often. But then again, timing, temp and groove add a great deal of variance, so the palette is vast. And how much of rock and metal is based on the original blues box?
"I'll get you Gadget next time" -
Maxwell Smart Agent 86: "missed by this much chief!"
😆🤘🏻
I need a full version of the Inspector Gadget theme, that was awesome!
Go go gadget Genuflect - "Epinephrine"!
First time watching. That was awesome
Lady, you have exceptional skills!! Greetings from Greece 🇬🇷
Came for the Slayer/Inspector Gadget comparison...was NOT disappointed 🤘😁🤘
Really happy to hear that 😄🤘🏻
Another artist that comes to mind with this topic is Danzig. So many of the riffs are obviously inspired by any number of classic rock/punk/metal/blues riffs, but the context is so individualistic that it feels like something new anyways when you listen to it.
That's awesome! Can you think about a specific match? Would really love to continue this series! 😃
@@JassyPabst Yeah! “Going Down to Die” I think alludes to Lynyrd Skynyrd”s “Freebird” both musically and lyrically/thematically. “I”m the One” has a straight-up blues call and response acoustic riff that sounds like any number of blues songs, “Mother” sounds like Blue Oyster Cult’s “Don’t Fear the Reaper” Meets Billy Idol lol. There are also alot of riffs that are similar to Black Sabbath, like the opening guitar riff to “Pain in the World”, reminds me alot of the slow, doomy opening riff from “Everyday Under the Sun, Comes and Goes”I think it’s all totally deliberate because he’s a fan of all of this music, and isn’t afraid to borrow from stuff that sounds cool in his own songs, and pay little (or big) homages all throughout.
You had my ❤ with South of Heaven!!! Just kiddin, maybe 20years ago I'm old metalhead.
You never cease to amaze me.
Hii Jass 👩 you got all these nice guitars 😮 very very cool 😎 from: Scranton, Pennsylvania
Great job happy to see ministry in there 🤘🍻🤘
This is great!
lol, nice! great video!
Nice job😮
I came here for Inspector Gadget...left seeing the awesome Doom guitar!!!
Perfect video.
ahahaha awesome! How did you enjoy the Inspector Gadget part though?
@@JassyPabst Oh yeah. I'd never put those 2 songs together before. Well done.
I love the custom JS I have to base model jss and one of them has the Viper neck, it would be so sick if I had the frets fanned out
Very interesting sasssassaaay!!!
That version of doom never gets old 😎🤘
Thank you! You can find my full cover here: ua-cam.com/video/HTKgszerOQ8/v-deo.html
True!
@@austang8556 I was listening to it again, also seems like you can sing the chorus to “no remorse” by Metallica to it 😂😂😂
No way.. inspector Gadjet, this is really it 🤣
Thank you, it was interesting ☺️ ❤️🔥
Thank you Rony! Actually both of these riffs are very similar to "In The Hall Of The Mountain King" =) The classic piece
This great. Just. GREAT! ;D
That was so cool loved it your just amazing
Thank you very much, James!
It was fun! Especially the Rammstein and Ministry, but inspector gadget and slayer, not so much. Thanks big for the vids!!!
Ясмина - всегда восхитительна. и усилитель её - хороший😌🎸🤘💥❤️.
Even though it’s not metal, having Rush sneak in William Tell’s 1812 Overture in 2112’s Overture was always a fun one, lol!
2:22 also similar to this Satch and Metallica riff is What's My Age Again by Blink 182
Cool job
The theme from Inspector Gadget was based on Grieg's In the Hall of the Mountain King, which some of the best and darkest metal songs openly use
Some of those riffs are so close that they are the same. Thanks for the humorous video Jassy. 🤘
Brilliant correlations🙂Noone can own notes or riffs....minor mods and they're your own.
had never heard that Killing Joke riff before, but as soon as you started it I thought "Whoa, Come as You Are?!?!?"
the AC/DC - Dr. Feelgood one was new on me too, but man that's uncanny
That Doom Ibanez is sick! 🔥🔥🔥
Awsome!
Love this, Awesome how the songs sounded similar. especially Nirvana and Killing Joke
that one makes a lot of sense really, Kurt Cobain was a huge Killing Joke fan
Wow. You are on spot. I know many doom comes from metallica, slayer and pantera.
So my fav doom track is master of puppets! You nailed it. First woman video I actually like! You a girl that can really play.
Super Arbeit an der Gitarre und sexy outfit as well.
well that was fun but keep up the good work but got to love that smile of yours
0:57 unskinny bop by Poison also could fit here I feel like.
