- More melodic death metal from Gothenburg, Sweden incoming! This time one of my personal all time favorite classics "Cloud Connected" by the mighty In Flames! Hope you like the mix, I played the main leads and rhythm guitars. Yet it was hard to figure out each part due to so many different layers of sound. But that is what IN FLAMES is known for, eh?
The guitars from outside are pre-recorded through a Neural DSP Quad Cortex to get the most cinematic video outcome possible - still trying, but getting there! Mostly learnt by ear as the guitar tab on songsterr wasn't completely accurate.

We decided to part ways all the way back in May unfortunately. It’s like with relationships. No matter how hard you work, sometimes things are not meant to be 🙏

I want to emphasize that I didn’t leave Oversense for All For Metal, some things happen and sometimes you need to draw a line what is good for your health and what isn’t. And appreciation as well as empathy are a huge part of that.

I may have been joking with you about being shanghaied to be part of Metallica, but I really did hope they might consider you as an alternate if Kirk Hammett ever did think of retiring from the band, which the odds, understandably, are strongly against. I still do hope you get picked up by Metallica, or another major band like them such as Avenged Sevenfold or Slipknot, you are quite talented and would bring crazy energy to any band that picks you up.

Whole discography In Flames is a gold mine. The energy in this song is absolutely amazing, metal the most wholesome music that there is. The cover is magnificent, there's something incredibly creative with this video and I love it. You didn't just recreate the sound of In Flames; this is the return to the Göteborg's sound. Definitely massive. Without a doubt, this is an ideal job. Thanks a lot for the video 🎸🎸🎸
Thank you so much for this beautiful compliment! These bands are precious to me. This sound, the lyrics, the atmosphere. All very relatable. Yet it was hard for me to really hear what the lead guitar plays in the chorus 🤣👌

Don't get me wrong, I like the song, but I can definitely understand why fans of the band prior to "Reroute to Remain" wouldn't care for this. It's a fairly major stylistic change from Clayman and previous, particularly stuff like "The Jester Race." I like RtR and Cloud Connected, although I do get a bit tired of that being the only song people know by In Flames. Eh, whatever.

The tour was amazing, and I'm glad you got a holiday too, but it's lovely to have covers back. I've missed them. What a fantastic return! A suitably fiery performance for a great In Flames song. The riff hits like a truck. The melody is beautiful and the orchestration with the keyboards. It fits so well with the layered editing. Your attention to detail is so meticulous. And an awesome location for that melodeath feel. Perfect tone and playing. Just a flawless cover! :) Outstanding!

Reroute is my favorite In Flames record. Unpopular opinion, but it really helped shape my sound as a musician.
It's good to see you back with another cover (in the Enchanted Forest Of Metaldom..) :) So far I've only heard a few In Flames songs and this is my favourite. Your enjoyment of this genre really shines through, also literally as the clouds disconnected to let the sunshine in!

Ich hab das Gefühl, ich habe einen Riesen Fehler gemacht, dass ich nie weiter in In Flames reingehört habe…Ich war vom Introriff ein bisschen überrascht weil er so vergleichsweise simpel von der Struktur her ist und mich eher an Disturbed oder so erinnert. Ein sehr cooler Riff nonetheless🤘🤘nur etwas unerwartet.
Dann kamen die Leads im Refrain und haben mir iwie mitten ins Herz gestochen❤️🩹genau der Grund, warum ich Melodeath so liebe, so eine unvergleichbare Schönheit in den melodischen Phrasen unterlegt von schweren Riffs…ich kann es schwer beschreiben, aber hat mich iwie emotional gemacht😅🙈
Hab dann nach dem Solo einfach die Augen geschlossen und bis zum Ende genossen. So ein cooles und zugleich unbeschreiblich schönes Lied, ich muss dringend mehr Bands in dem Genre entdecken❤🙌🤘
