Never heard of you before. Instantly subscribed. Clear, concise description for all of us who need to know. No bollocks. Much appreciated.
This is such an outstanding explanation! I’ve been searching for articles and forums to read on this matter and none of them made enough sense to me. But this was perfect, thank you!
Watched Volkey himself in a video last night and he didn't explain it as clearly as you. Now I get it. Thank you.
That is the most "enlightening" video on wedges I have found! Thank you!
Great explanation. Simple and rational to the brain. Thanks
More clarity here than several manufacturers. Even with the bloody accent! Cheers, and thanks!
Glad to help!
An accent ? Sure ? 😄 I agree, fast and clever answer to a tough question
Excellent!! I've been searching for explanation about the need for the different grinds and this is the first I have come across someone addressing this. You should do the other grinds as well. Thanks!!!
Thank You! The visual is what I was looking for on the grinds. Well Done.
You touch on a subject I never quite understood. I now have the basics on wedge grind. Thank you!
Best explanation of the application of wedge grinds I have seen. Thanks!
Thank you for that simple, clear, and direct explanation. Excellent
Best explanation of S vs M grind I’ve seen. Very helpful. Well done.
OMG. Thank you!! That was so simple yet so informative.
This simple, totally clear explanation will very effectively change how you think your wedges SHOULD be used!! Thank you Steve!!!
Great video Steve so simply put over about the mind field of grinds on wedges brilliant 👍
Just bought a M grind 56 degree and your video gave me a lot of confidence in my new club. Many thanks mate
That was a great tutorial,
One of the simplest, and to the point I have seen!
Basicly NO BULLSHIT!
Thanyou
Love the Great explanation.
Thank you for your time to explain the grinds like you did. I love to open my wedge up to manipulate as you explained on the M grind.
God Bless brother
Good vid. Trying to buy new wedges, looking at what feels like a million options. You narrowed it down and made it start to make sense. Thanks!
Great timeless video! Thanks for the direct to the point explanation. Subbed...
Great explanation of the grinds!
Man I love the way Scots speak. Such a cool accent. Very informative video thanks for taking the time.
Thanks! I knew exactly what you were talking about. Made it easy to look at wedges.
You're welcome Tad
Great video, finally someone made it so simple
Really great video explained in really simple terms
That’s the best explanation I’ve heard .... thanks

Spread the word. Thanks!
Explained, nice simple and clear! Thanks!
Ty for that .great looking wedges.l will check out the other grinds .
Thanks. Best explanation I've found (better than Titleists's own!).
I liked and subscribed because of the great video...thanks a ton!!
“I don’t do it that way... i should do it that way!”
perfect explanation, really helpful thanks,
Great explanation! Just got a like new 56* F grind for $20 off ebay! Can't wait to get some practice with it!
Very helpful...made my decision easy...thx!
I tell you what - this is THE best and clearest explanation I’ve seen here or heard from pros. I’m thinking of getting SM8’s and I’m bamboozled by the choices (and I’m an 8hcap player of x30yrs!). Can you do more and possibly on firmer conditions (links) please?
Great one!
Thank you so much for explaining that!!
Can you do one for the bounce?
Brilliant!
Thank you, outstanding
My 54, 56, 58 all have m grind I never new the difference, just learning about the grind, not very good so don't know how much it would change my game, but thank you.
Great explanation thanks
danthemanwhocancan thanks DanTheManWhoCanCan
Very clear!
Big help. Thanks
Great video
Thank you! I understand more now!
I cant even understand what he is saying, he sounds Gaelic. But it sounds golfy.
I love the various 'grains' LOL. Seriously, I play Vokey wedges. My 60 degrees is the 'L' grind at 4 degrees bounce and my 56 degrees is the 'M' grind at 11 degrees bounce. I live in Arizona, and we have very hard, tight lies. We have to attack the ball with a shallow, sweeping technique so there is very little or no divot.
good information!
Excellentexplanation
Cheers Gabriel!
V grind, peak bounce mid sole, high *bounce angle* (ignore ‘effective bounce’) will help so many people.
Great video earned my subscription
John Brown thanks John 👍👍👏🏻
Clear understanding. Well done. Now subscribed. Looking at Bunkered. Thank you
Thanks Andrew and welcome to the channel!
Awesome video! Can you do some wedge brand reviews?
good one!
Grind is such a personal thing I've always hand grinded mine and sometimes port them thing is you need to dynamic fit wedges I prefer a S grind old school so u can open face but still have available bounce a hand grind can save u 5/8 shots per round if done right. Good video though 👍
Hi Steve - I have a question - in the 'M' grind - great you've explained the grind in the heel - but why would there need to be grind in the toe as well - (my guesses are (a) it might be to give you the option for a closed face as well (b) it might be to balance the weighting ???)
That is a big help, Steve. Just a question, please, how should grind be chosen for a digger vs a sweeper, or is that more to do with bounce (or a combination, because now I see the two are somewhat related). Thanks!
diggers need more bounce.
Informative tks
Happy to help
What grind would you use if you kept the club up right and relied on the loft of the club. Would you just use a more lofted wedge or loft and a certain grind. Hope this makes sense love to hear your answer thanks
Fantastic video but what grind is best if you play it with hands ahead and square face ??
Good video Steve. Got a question between the M grind and S grind, which would be most versatile for a player opening and closing face and moving hands back or forward to crate loft? Does the S work well for this or is the M more suited for both? (this would be for a 60degree). Thanks!
M. Bob Vokey designed it for just this reason.
What grind would you recommend for someone who likes to frequently hit lower chip shots by using some forward shaft lean, but more of a sweeping angle of attack? Would you recommend a grind with more bounce or something with more relief on the leading edge?
Fuel shots
Id use the P grind in that situation. Ie a putter . No chunking or skulling through the back. It's great... until you've got to go over something like a bunker. An idiot proof lesson for that would be appreciated. Cheers Steve. 🏴
Which wedge/grind do you think is best suited for high-spinning low flighted chip shots on tight lies with a rather handsy player?
love the accent bro
Hi Steve, I am a recent subscriber. My wedges (Cleveland RTX4 10 degree full bounce) are mostly worn on the front half edge of the iron, and there is almost no wear on the bounce (60 degree has a bit more). I tend to sweep more than take divots. Do you think I need a different grind? Thanks. Love your channel!
I don't lie the club back, but only open the face when hitting short lob shots with 60 degree.
can you do the same for L K D grinds?
I grind my own
I need a 54/56 wedge. More of a sweeper. S grind ? Great videos, sir.
Good explanation, so is M better for bunkers?
CG Mat No as it will dig into the sand
Try the K grind on a 58 for bunkers, has massive sole ideal for bunkers
Thanks
What if you don't open up the wedge an you use a 60 degree.
I bought a. .60L.4b.M. last week a strange club for me .it seems to work well for short shots sliding well underneath the ball. But frankly i regret my choice.wasent worth it.
Get in the Choppaaaa
What kinda grrreiinnndd you got there buddy?
I dont do it that way *nearly holes the chip* I SHOULD DO IT THAT WAY
Find yoooouuur game! Eat your lucky 🍀 charms
🌈 .
You're not from Alabama are you?
the hell with the grinds tell us about the bounce (degrees) what is (s) (f) (m) because most all wedges are that way ?????????
