You mentioned that in some cases of freezing gait, orthostatic tremor could be responsible. It’s troubling that a person could receive a diagnosis of Parkinson’s and then receive Parkinson’s drugs when in fact it’s orthostatic tremor. What is prescribed for orthostatic tremor and can anything can done about it?
i used to have issues with this in my first year post brain injury. it would happen whenever i was overstimulated. all i would need to regain movement would be from outside stimulation i.e. someone putting their hand firmly on my shoulder or just tapping hip on affected side.
Hi Dr did you heard about gondola for freezing gait syndrome this device is available in Italy France and Switzerland and it send mechanical impulses from the big toe and metatarsal bone to the brain and help the Person to Walk after 2 minutes exposure to those impulses for a week. If you have any answers about this we appreciate. Thanks
I get "stuck" quite often and I find lots of ways to compensate for this- also happens when I am tired. Thank you for all your videos! It takes a toll on my social life tho.
Thank you so much for this information! Our son is recovering from a sever TBI and we are caring for him at home and dealing with a lot of freezing. I am so thankful to understand this better so that I can help him with it.
