KVN's evocation of the sentiments here will touch every heart. I wish the violin accompaniment was much better and was by someone who could show he/she knew the song and related to it as much as KVN.

" Murugaa murugaa Endraal" composed by Periyasaami Tooran in 'saveri' is on the deity of Senthilandavar @ Tiruchendur murugan temple ! So beautiful a kriti.....Of course, this one sung by the erstwhile maestro KVN is popular though its sung by the star vocalists very of often in the present day Music festivals. The rendition is soulful melodious while the lyrics is such that the Poet Thooran sought a Supplication in the form of prayer to the lord to exonerate sins unknowingly committed . Its to be noted that as he was he was not a musician, he had profound poetic talents like Arunachala Kavirayar, Periyasamy Thooran sdid seek outside help to set his lyrics to music. Sivaramakrishna Iyer (of Mavelikara, Kerala and had joined Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya, Chennai as music teacher in 1937) was his guru and choreographer. Thooran was rightly assisted ,aestro KVN and few others, manly T.K. Govinda Rao and T. V. Sankaranarayanan., Bith KVN and the Poet Thooran are no more...pranams to the great souls
