I just want to say that Zara is the real deal. I went natural 7 years ago, and while it took a long time, I finally have a solid understanding of my hair, and it feels great

ChocoCaramel thanks so much! I’m 2 years natural but I cut my hair off again on New Years Eve 😭 and I wanna be much better and healthier this time around. So mostly natural products, putting my hair away and PATIENCE!

I have been able to stretch my protective hairstyle 8 weeks by moisturising my braids with water and ors hair lotion then sealing with blue magic castor oil. I also grease my scalp with sulfur 8 and oil my edges with castor oil. I started doing this once a week and recommend this💚💚💚
Girl I do the same thing because my scalp wouldn't be able to function any other way!😂😂😂 The only difference is that I can't keep this up for 8 weeks because my roots get mad fuzzy from washing my hair every week and a half to clean off the grease.💚💚💚
Emma Elisha, I mix sulfur 8, castor oil and blue magic. Always sleep with silk or satin hair cap. Braid my hair about 5 or 6 big braids, put on my cap. Also sleep with a satin pillowcase. My hair is now waist length. If I straightened my hair it will reach pass my buttocks. My daughter twists her hair. Both of our hair is a different type. I'm a 4cdefg, I swear, but my daughter is a 4a/4b
Wow y’all! It’s been a while but your girl has really been living this baby girl LIFE. I had the time of my life vacationing the past few weeks but I am back and I hope you all are safe and well! This is my first UA-cam vid in 4k so don’t skip the ads to show me that you love me and THUMBS UP! I hope you enjoy the subject matter. These principles have allowed my hair to thrive in protective styles and I am sure they will help you too!
Moisture is so important for my hair when protective styling. Mist with aloe Vera juice or whatever you prefer and massage your scalp with oil a couple times a week and you will notice when you take your hair out it’s still moisturized
@@adeola1919 when it is moisturized it feels soft and more manageable, but when it’s not it’s dry and hard when you touch it ( it’s feels like you’re cracking a dry leaf). Hope it helps…
I only realised that the main reason why my hair wasn't long even with being cornrowed back to back for years was because of lack of moisture and neglect, I didn't moisturise my corn rows and didn't always deep condition before using heat, but, now that I know what to do, hopefully I can grow out what I cut off this year.
I honestly wish I could leave my protective styles in longer but if it stays in for more than 2-3 weeks, my hair starts to get matted😭. One time I kept it in for 4 weeks and my hair was matted at the ROOTS😬
When your roots is matted, one thing you need to do, so that you reduce the chances of being tangled and potential breakage, is moisturize it with a generous amount of water or living conditioner to make it slippery and easy to dismantle. Ofcourse make sure you take your time with this, watch a movie while you doing it that way you won’t lost a lot of the new growth
I feel as though if you have a fast growth rate, you don’t have to leave it in longer past 3 weeks anyways. But if it’s average or slow then leave it in a substantial amount of time
💚 Loving the positive vibes this video is bringing. I’m one that has issues with split ends and breakage. After listening to this, I’ll try a lot more low manipulation styles.
I have to clean the synthetic hair with vinegar before using it. I see a big difference in my scalp sensitivity when I do this first. Much less itchy and no red bumps. I also started doing my own passion twists. I am getting better. I like that I can moisturize it and it looks nice even if it starts to "puff" a little. I don't like people touching my hair and head. I'm going on 44 and been natural since I was a teen. I know my hair and scalp but I appreciate all the UA-cam info and tutorials Thanks for the videos.🌱
Hey, you mentioned making a video on how to lightly cleanse hair that produces a lot of build up while it'sin a protective style if we asked. So I'm asking lol
🐢🐊🌵🌲🌳🌴🌱🌿🍀🍃🍏🎾🔋📗💚✅ Please do a tutorial for the locs. I can currently re-learning to take care of my hair and I want to do more protective styles and take care of my scalp.
The issue I have is my scalp falls apart in a week so I have to do my hair weekly. Max length of time is 2 weeks otherwise the dandruff will get really really bad
I found the solution in winter for this, I braid my hair in 2 Butterfly braids and then add 2 synthetic braids around it ( to cover), first it looks gorgeous and then the hair is protected, I use my silk scarf and another on top and then the hair don't move under it at night and I can keep it for 1 week , this is the best protective style for me, no manipulations, amazing hairstyle and then you are your own manager, I use Amla oil and Chebe oil , papaya oil etc ( no olive oil, no coconut oil which my hair profoundly loathe) shea butters or any butter will do for me...I drink Moringa powder every day, I also mix it in my oils, Winter is safe, I live in Switzerland and our winters can be very cold and break everything you have grown in summer🙃I never measure my hair because growth is easy to see unless you are by 20-22in which I am not🤣 and by experiencing no breakage your hair is growing
Just a suggestion: PLEASE make videos about your hair porosity. I would love it because I feel like it would make me understand what works for you might have a higher chance if me, also I just feel at least one video for hair porosity would help
