Good interview. Talking with Mr Carville is truly talking to history as a political insider. I appreciate that you’re an Independent and look honestly at each candidate. I learned that “woke” folks only make up a few Democrats as I had the [mis]conception that all Democrats are woke. To paraphrase Mr. Carville, all Democrats aren’t woke but all woke are Democrats. My fault with the Democratic elected officials is that they don’t publicly tell the woke that they are stupid (as you have done repeatedly); or, at best, they simply ignore it. Thank you for mentioning our education problems but I wish you had talked about the immigration crisis, the homeless/drug crisis, the crime crisis (at least in large cities).

High quality daycare back in the day in 60 and 70's was done by grandma and grandpa who were retired, aunts who didn't, work, teenagers who looked out for younger kids of farm families in their rural neighborhoods. That was daycare back in the day.
@@dustinweber1945you have a point. A friend of mine retired for 7 months then returned coz EVERYONE was asking her to babysit. Why not? Youre retired. How presumptuous.
That was because grandmas and grandpa could retire. Young ladies could pay their way through college by babysitting, Now you have to own a hedge fund to be able to afford college or daycare
The best argument for daycare is Henry Kieser in WWII. The only way he could get his shipyards to produce a Liberty ship a day was to hire Women ie “Rossie the Riveter” - the only way he could get these women to take these jobs was to offer Daycare.
i was working in Pentagon city in 2005 and I believe he lived near by and i saw him a few times in my stores. One day I had the courage to finally walk up and thank him for his work. He graciously said thank you and was very kind.

I agree our schools are failing miserably. I am 64 and I was lucky to get a good high school education. The blame must be shared with the parents. Both of my parents were educators. My father made me learn Greek and Latin roots and tested me on them. At the time I hated this. When I became an paramedic it became obvious how lucky I had parents who were partners in the education process
Hi Kenneth. That's a very cool comment and I applaud you (and your parents). Greek and Latin. I didn't realise that I had an interest in English until I had to study Shakespeare. I did not get any formal Greek or Latin and I wish I had. Paramedic is an interesting career choice and I hope it served you well. On a side note, I am also 64 years old.

Pat BetDavid wrote a book called “Choose your enemies wisely,” or something like that. Carville just listens to people smarter than him and not democrats and makes it seem like they are democrat ideas.
My favourite Trumpism is that hw admits that he uses the system to pay as little income tax as possible. At least Carville admitted that Democrats look down on working people. I grew up blue collar used the GI Bill to get a college degree and got a white collar job and became middle class. In the office, people would assume I grew up like them and would say the dumbest shit about people who worked blue collar jobs. They told me so much about themselves that was useful to me.
Why would anyone in their right mind want to pay more than the absolute minimum? Simply look at what is done with that money. It's used as a statement of income for the govt against which they are lent what amounts to virtually infinite cash, and even with all of that they're about to run out of money to pay themselves.. They don't enforce the southern border whatsoever, and that's on the list of basic jobs of the federal govt. It was revealed our money is being sent to Ukraine not just for weapons etc. but to keep small businesses afloat. Its send abroad under countless guises because that's how you maintain being the default currency. That and make sure oil can't be bought with anything else because that would tip you over real fast. See: Iraq & Libya.
If we could recognize forward-thinking people with practical intelligence are in every place of our land, we could move past our current cultural stressor. We could be so much greater. A great point of life is meeting someone that is polar opposite of your experience and hearing the same motivations of fairness, acceptance, and love.
That requires not listening to the loudest mouths. Filter the activists out and you will find a proper conversation. "We could be so much greater." Not when the population sets itself up to be governed by the two selected elites both acting like they're President.
Sounds like you're narrowing, Bob. It's believe it's the art of discourse infantry chef is talking about, not generating marketing formats.@@bobearly3653

This was excellent. One of Bill's best!
I have always liked James Carville!! Very interesting
I thought James was gonna do a full Dreyfuss a couple of times there.....but he recovered!
I may be ignorant of what a “Dreyfuss” is. Is that referring to Richard Dreyfuss?
@@DennisNedryisStillAliveYes, he spent his whole interview slowly sliding down his chair.
Excellent discussion, thank you Gentlemen. RBL
James Carville ,and Bill Maher ❤ intelligent conversation!
Always a joy to see James ❤
Fantastic!!! Thank you gentlemen.
How can you not love this guy! Classic! And thanks to Ari Melber I have been able to study him! Fascinated
Love Ari, too!!!
Awesome! Thanks for all you're doing Bill!! And to Bill's team as well.
Finally a good episode with a normal, smart guest. More of this please
I wish this could have been four hours long, best episode yet!
Bill M reading commercials is hilarious.
Bring James Carville back again! Your BEST podcast to date. Good Job! Love the idea about government child care it goes hand in hand with women’s equality. ❤
Terrible human being
absolutely a great guest but, at times, I was wanting subtitles. ha
@@Illumirage me? Am I terrible human? I like the idea of Government child care, we pay enough in property taxes & income taxes to cover the expenses of child care for 6mo to 5 yrs old then they are in kindergarten. We also need all Gov schools to have after school programs until 6pm so parents can work.
@@joanneweed1683 no, James
Bill, please have Mr. Carville back on when you can. The conversation and chemistry were both great!
JC never disappoints! 😂
I could listen to another hour or two of JC ! The Best Club Random yet...
JC is awesome. For those who love him, you might find the Bill Hader SNL impressions of him very funny 😅
Unique and wonderful ❤
Thank you for an engaged intelligent conversation. I love it when people are listening to each other and responding to what was said. No scoring points.
Love James could listen to him talk aĺl day. Thanks Bill amazing interview
One of the best club randoms, probably because Maher wasn’t stoned.
wha? he's smoking a huge doobie.
So true! I get Bill wants a relaxed chill/fun convo in this new incarnation but man he def gets a little too random & misses some great talking points . Kinda frustrating
For real? He's totally stoned and has a doobie in hand.
this episode was marginally better than the bill cranston episode - at least james carville can get out of his own way... bill cranston is lost and turned out to be a total putz ... ❤
Yeah noticed it was not as smoky...
Thank you for having this conversation. I needed it after work. I went to a Mexican restaurant, sat in the bar, ate a taco and enjoyed the discussion you had.
The fact that Bill has the portrait of the last supper in the background cracks me up 😂
High quality daycare back in the day in 60 and 70's was done by grandma and grandpa who were retired, aunts who didn't, work, teenagers who looked out for younger kids of farm families in their rural neighborhoods. That was daycare back in the day.
That happened the same in the burbs and urban areas. You're talking about society back then, there was nothing geographical about it.
well people have to work until they're dead now so the 1 parent at home / early retirement just isn't a thing for most
@@dustinweber1945you have a point.
Billy Corgan looks different with glasses.

Yeah, the life on the road, the partying ,really has aged the Smashing Pumpkin's front man , big time

I remember Carville from Old School. We always Respect him.
i was working in Pentagon city in 2005 and I believe he lived near by and i saw him a few times in my stores. One day I had the courage to finally walk up and thank him for his work. He graciously said thank you and was very kind.
I always enjoy listening to JC. He’s very knowledgeable about the inner workings of politics. He’s a person I’d love to talk with one on one.
Myself being a Florida Democrat of deep southern roots I would very happy to have a conversation with James.
Please speak about black people who raisist... there are many.
15 minutes in and I just noticed the print of 'The Last Supper' on the wall. Hilarious!
Great talk.. Bill Maher and James Carville.
I wish they would give some examples of the bicoastal leftists they were talking about. ..they spoke negatively about them. I don’t know who they are.
James makes politics fun ....in a strange way
This is the best interview/ conversation that Bill has had in the long time. I made some good insights from listening to this conversation. Much needed ❤ thank you.
That trump is honest and says what he thinks was negated by that abortion issue. The duplicity of trump cannot be denied on some issues.
Had the pleasure to serve him & his wife in my restaurant the other day. What a character. He’s got a great wife behind him as well.
BILL ? 😮
No she’s a Republican who has worked to kill healthcare bills, which has kept people from getting healthcare and therefore, DYING.
Lol, Carville's wife is a lot more like his handler/manager now

This was the most entertaining interview you’ve done yet on club random. Love the political talk.
Great episode!!! Great conversation!
Except Bill never shut up.
"Education" hasn't failed the kids, but their parents have failed them by ignoring what they've needed -- which was and needs to be: PARENTING.
In most cases it’s both
@@rayc5577 No, it's not. Kids need to get to school ready to learn; parents are the sole responsibility for that.
Ohhhh you don't see what's happening at these schools now. Parents don't stand a chance. Students who push back when they're told 2+2=5 get exiled. Open your eyes. The Ds will pay at the polls for it.
Great discussion with a political expert who knows what he is talking about.
Bill, I am a fan from way back. It concerns me that the last few shows of club random you are talking over the guest. We’re all getting older and slower, let them talk! I tune in to hear what they have to say! Thank you for all you do❤
Why do you write "Bill" as if he's reading the comments
@@DTR89 because this person thinks she's special.

Great show Bill! James is doing his Richard Dreyfuss impersonation in the chair!
James is spot on about Bush vs Gore. This Club Random is one of the best !!!!!!!
It was the beginning of the end.
Yes, we dodged a bullet.
James Carville is a brilliant political Democrat strategist. I enjoyed this conversation with Bill and highly recommend his own podcast.

“I’m an independent, I’ve never voted republican.” -Bill

"everything has become a purity test"...Carville nailed it
Many people have been saying that for years, all conservatives.
On both sides of the coin
Jordan Peterson says it best. (paraphrased) On the right, you can tell when they've gone too far. When you see people breaking out the jackboots and badges, things have gone too far. On the left, there is no limit to how far things can go.

Bill! You did NOT grill Vivek Ramaswamy. You sat there, fried, and let that man fling twaddle.
Bill was totally loaded. How can you grill someone when you're still digesting what he said 10 minutes after he said it?
Good for him. Last thing I want to do is watch a debate with him trying to pull I got you moments like the media does. You bring a guest on you let that person speak and say what they need to say and then people decide after how genuine they feel about that person, that's called an interview
Vivek is too quick and smart for Bill

You be you!
Pat BetDavid wrote a book called “Choose your enemies wisely,” or something like that. Carville just listens to people smarter than him and not democrats and makes it seem like they are democrat ideas.
Yes thank u. If only Bill could do a recap so we could just skip to the points we want to listen to.
Loved every minute of your conversation guys ! Thank you both .👍🇺🇸
James Carville is the GOAT!
Do you think Democrats don't use the system to pay as little income tax as possible? Hell, Bill Maher bitches about California's income tax!
I'm TIRED....😅
@@drownthepoor Is this Comment going to be a Netflix MiniSeries....LOL

Can’t believe I just saw this! Great show- these two together… so good!
