Same! Have always enjoyed a Labatt whenever there aren't any other options available. Really good flavor and won't kill your stomach the next day like Molson beers do.
As a guy from Buffalo where Canadian beer was the equivalent of Budweiser growing up, Molson Canadian all day (drinking one right now). Though I have a soft spot for Labatt and will drink it as well. I wish I could find Labatt 50 still. Hell I wish I could find Molson Golden on tap...
@@BeerBrackets I used to get it at the local Consumers beer store, but they stopped carrying it with the proliferation of craft beers 10-15 yrs ago. I have to try the Labatt House downtown, they might carry it on tap occasionally...
I like both. For Labatt, it's good in either can or bottle form. With Molson, I think it's better from a bottle. I recently bought a 24oz can of Molson and it smelled like dishwater. Typically, it doesn't. Maybe I didn't have a fresh can, I don't know.
So hard to tell. With molson products especially I find the quality level varies so much. Depends where you buy it, how long it’s been sitting on the shelves there, how they’ve stored it, etc.
Moosehead is the best Canadian beer that is available in my area. Don't know if you've ever tried it, but it's got more hops and flavor than either 2 of these.
I have! Moosehead was really big in Montreal the last 20 years. Most pubs here sell it and you can get it in any corner store. There’s no doubt that it’s better than either of these 2 in my opinion.
@@BeerBrackets Export is fantastic! Had a friend bring me one from Ontario (I live in Michigan). It was the first Export I've had in over 20 years! If it were available in the states it would be my official beer. Before Labatt 50, it was called Labatt Canadian Ale, which was available here and was really good. But it went away many years ago.
Molson Canadian has always been my go to low cost keg beer at the house here in Colorado. It has a superior flavor over Coors, Budweiser, Miller, and at 15.5 gallons for 90 bucks has always been an amazing deal. And who can’t complain about the elevated alcohol Content. No one has ever remotely complain about the Molson around here Chrisp clean and delicious. It’s always difficult to compare two beers at the exact same time because some flavors will overpower other subtle notes of the second beer, and vice versa. Just incredibly difficult to do that in my opinion.
Thanks for watching and for taking the time to reach out! Unfortunately I can’t get either of those in Canada where I am, but looked into them a bit and I agree that would make for an interesting VS battle if we could.
I like both, but prefer the more malty character of Molson. If I'm drinking right after playing hockey, I prefer Labatt, because it has a cleaner taste to it, but 60 minutes later, I'm heading back to Molson.
Molson Canadian's popularity really just comes from its name Canadian and only really grew in popularity with the internet becoming a thing. Its way easier to find online by typing Canadian beer. Labatt Blue was the number one beer uncontested but thanks to internet search algorithm Molson caught up. Even here on youtube just look at the commercials molson got millions of views whille Labatt Blue only gets a few thousands.
These are both sports game beers, they are easy to drink, not filling, when you watching playoff hockey you don't give a shit to grade anything. I do agree with your score that Labatt is better. Labatt is also much cheaper than Molson.
The beautiful Canadian people are as underserved by their beers as they are by their politicians...both groups awful...but then they do have Joe...a light in the winter gloom!!!
Ahhh good ole Laurentide. Alessandro can’t get it where he is in the states, but I’ll make sure to feature it somehow now that you’ve mentioned it. Thanks for watching and commenting! Cheers my friend 🍻

Bleue all the way monhomme
Ive never tried them side by side, I have always leaned into the Labatts more than Molson. Labatts is my go to non craft beer. Nice Job guys.
Agreed! Was never too big a fan of molson products if there were other options available.

That's a good taste challenge ida.
Bleue monhomme
Bleue is a favorite in Québec, similar to Pepsi vs Coke, I think the color of the can has something to do with it.
I was so use to seeing/drinking Bleue Dry growing up in Montreal. A little bit higher alcohol than the Blue that the rest of Canada gets.

Labatt 50 is the superior Labatt product by far. It’s a shame they don’t make it too available outside of Quebec.

Labatt Blue used to be my go-to, but I’ve found myself leaning more towards Molson lately.
Good deal, Neal

I always thought blue was pretty underrated. Sneaky good beer. great episode
Agreed! Super underrated

You should do Labatt 50 vs. Molson Export ... the two most famous Ale canadian beers ;)
Such a great idea! I would love to but Ale can’t get 50 in the states unfortunately.

I've never drank A bad Molson Canadian.
Always get A bad one or two in every 8 pack or case with the more popular brands.
Been a blue fan since 84' unfortunately, it's not very popular in Alberta and can be difficult to find

Both these are good to me
Would love to see you do Grain Belt Premium vs. Hamm's

Compare blue and Budweiser side by side
What a great suggestion! We’ll add it to the list. Thanks for watching 🍻

blue in buffalo we get it
I like 'em both, (ooops-meant to say *LABATT*) wins for me between the two though. I'm still curious on a (again-LABATT) bottle vs can VS!
What a great suggestion! We’ll add that one to the list. Thanks for watching Tony. 🍻 cheers!
I love labbat blue I don’t like molson Canadian at all but I don’t mind molson dry though
I totally get why!
@@BeerBrackets cheers buddy
remember hi-dry?

Neither are great, but if I had to pick, I'd go with Blue.

jaja alesandro in the rat hat
He’s rockin it
Labatt Blue is my favorite beer.
im from upstate NY i love labatt but hate Molsen to me its kinda skunky
Labatt blue is my to go beer. Because it cheaper than molson canadian eh.
Canadian lager > Blue pilsner for my palette.
Why don't you ask me? Which one of my sons I like better. You people are causing me a concern!😊
🤣🤣🤣

Your words…. As always… are a hilight Niall. Cheers my friend
Of the two, Blue is superior for sure.
But in general they are both terrible.
molson sucks. period. Labatt rules that little world. can you do Laurentide?
