Thanks for the video I didn't know about holding down the traction control button.. not sure what do use the i guess 3 different modes for. kinda advanced for me. But i had seen a guy in another video holding his button down to completely cut off the traction control before he ran his down the drag strip.
You are welcome!! There are a couple different sequences using that button, unfortunately I no longer own the truck so I can’t go out and check… lol. Thanks for watching!!
You can make permanent changes without forscan by disconnecting the battery after you make the change from what I've heard. Only works for 1 setting at a time. Also, i dont think 2015-17 has the other drive modes unless its a higher trim or options i didnt get. My 2016 lariat 5.0 only has sport and tow haul.
Mine was an XLT… I’m also not sure if the ecoboost drive modes are different than the V8s?? I would assume not as it’s mostly throttle response and mapping but honestly who knows…?? I had too many issues with my ‘18 which is why I sold it, very disappointed… I thought buying a newer model I would have had this truck for some years but the problems out weighed me keeping it. Thanks for watching!!

One thing I found out. Last time I got my truck inspection, mechanic informed me rear brake pads close to needing replacement. Front ok. Normally on my other vehicles,, Front brakes wear faster than rear. FOUND OUT that traction control is constantly monitoring rear tire slippage and keeps applying rear brake to one side or other to help maintain traction. Sooo, now I turn OFF traction control unless I'm driving in wet/ice conditions.
i have 2020 f150. put the truck in drive and then press the plus symbol on the shifter. it will put the gears on the display. you will know know what gear you are in (1-10). press the plus minus buttons will remove gears you don't want to see. you can have it show just 8,9,10 or maybe 1-5.
There maybe a setting that needs to be changed… also not sure if your talking about while your driving there is a setting for the volume going up and down depending on the speed of the vehicle… there should be a setting for volume in the settings you’ll just have to look around, I no longer have this truck so I can’t play around to see… But thanks for sharing and thanks for watching!! Hopefully this helps?!!
Honestly I loved the truck, perfect spec for me with all the chrome. This was my 4th F150 but with only 43K miles I was getting blue smoke on start up. It had the 2.7 ecoboost (which was fast) but had already been in the shop for a few recalls and problems. Also being transparent I have owned multiple jeeps over the years and have wanted a Gladiator since they came out and seeing the Jeep tows the same as my Gladiator I traded it in… I do still miss it as I had looked for 3-4 months before buying it but the jeep is so much fun!! Hope this answers the question?! Thanks for watching!!
Blue smoke on start up is either bad rings or a bad turbo… I bought this truck with 32K miles (sold @ 43K) and was planning on having for 10 years… that quickly changed. It was a 2018, took me forever to pick the perfect spec and I’ve owned many F150s all with 180K+ miles so I was expecting to have this for a while… I am completely turned off of forced induction engines… never again…
Yes, on the shifter towards the bottom there should be a button marked DM… When you push that button, in the gauge cluster will pop up the drive modes and using that button you can toggle between the different modes… I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!!
The dude who posted about forscan is right. It's a program you download on your phone or computer(buy the right obd module depending on which device you'll use) and lets you program the coding for things like bambi mode(highs and fogs on at the same time) no double honk when you get out of the truck with you keys. Supposedly transmission recoding for hard shifts. Look it up. Pretty neat stuff and should cost you no more then 50$
Thank you!! The Bambi mode seems pretty cool, double honk when you get out? I have a physical key so I would assume my truck doesn’t have that feature?… I will definitely be looking into this and probably make an over view video covering these things! Thanks again and thanks for watching!!
@jlautomotive6349 yeah I think that's a feature for people with pushbutton start. I'm in the same boat, I have a physical key and yeah it'd make a good video. There's a ton of info and documentation out there. Of course some features limited to the trim you have.
