The beautiful giant surf clams with their polished interiors are gorgeous and I like how you leave the outside of the shell natural. I've really missed my Plum Island forays. Looking at them in a new light and enjoying the ones with the pure white interiors, blues and golds. They are slowly working their way up my favorites list! Girl, I love your spirit and heart! I’m a warm weather shelling girl but your love for New England made me smile. You make me realize I should be more grateful. I did venture out on Chincoteague Island in the extreme wind and cold Sunday. Only came home with sand and smiles though. Will try again soon. I love the sand dollars up there. Plum Island is on my bucket list. ❤️ Safe travels and shelling!

Welcome back home... love those large razor clam. Next time I find a big one I want to clear coat it and add a little gold leaf. I think it would make a nice holder for my jewelry. Those moons were gorgeous and that baby sand dollar.

The larger sand dollar has a great mirror image in the pattern. The baby sand dollar looks like a basket weave pattern. That glossy moon snail is gorgeous, like milk chocolate. The baby sand dollar was my favorite. Lots of goodies though! Thanks for doing the cold and wind for me!

Hi Bonnie! The winds have been so crazy that I couldn't even film the last time I hit the beach. Wowza that wind. I have a friend in NY that is on the way to the beach right not to look for some old antique bricks! I hope you both find some!!
Hi Jamie! Flowers/trees/etc are"poisonous". Animals/fish/reptiles are "venomous". Like....Mr. Jellyfish! :) I think you should start foraging for crabs and lobsters! :) :) :) At least, that's what I've been told. :)
Hi Laurel! I love this! Great info! What about a situation where you have an animal that when it's eaten it's poisonus due to toxins that the body can't digest...like a orange newt, puffer fish or a sea urchin? 🤔 Also, can an animal be both venomous and poisonous? 😳

Hi Annetta! The beaches in the Parker River Wildlife Refuge on Plum Island are closed. We were on Plum Island but at Bar Head. It's located after the last gate in the refuge - Gate 7 on Sandy Point. Plum Island is divided into 4 towns...Newbury, Newburyport, Rowley and Ipswich. Bar Head is Ipswich Ma. It's good for shelling and open 😀
Hi Betty! I'm not loyal to any brand because I feel like all the clear coat sprays work well, but the last one I used that I like is Rustoleum Clear Laquer. It was a high gloss. It worked great for the surf clams. Thank you so much for tuning in and coming along on my adventure!!

The winds have been so crazy that I couldn't even film the last time I hit the beach. Wowza that wind. I have a friend in NY that is on the way to the beach right not to look for some old antique bricks! I hope you both find some!!
Hi Jamie! Flowers/trees/etc are"poisonous". Animals/fish/reptiles are "venomous". Like....Mr. Jellyfish! :) I think you should start foraging for crabs and lobsters! :) :) :) At least, that's what I've been told. :)

I love this! Great info! What about a situation where you have an animal that when it's eaten it's poisonus due to toxins that the body can't digest...like a orange newt, puffer fish or a sea urchin? 🤔 Also, can an animal be both venomous and poisonous? 😳

I thought Plum Island was closed. Where were you on the island?
Hi Annetta! The beaches in the Parker River Wildlife Refuge on Plum Island are closed. We were on Plum Island but at Bar Head. It's located after the last gate in the refuge - Gate 7 on Sandy Point. Plum Island is divided into 4 towns...Newbury, Newburyport, Rowley and Ipswich. Bar Head is Ipswich Ma. It's good for shelling and open 😀
What do you use for clear coating?
Hi Betty! I'm not loyal to any brand because I feel like all the clear coat sprays work well, but the last one I used that I like is Rustoleum Clear Laquer. It was a high gloss. It worked great for the surf clams. Thank you so much for tuning in and coming along on my adventure!!
