@@BasedZillenial tbh it gave me a lot of anxiety in the beginning, and there are times where I'm still a little nervous about talking to strangers. always being with a group helped, but even more than that, realizing that the Bible isn't kidding when it says "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." I asked the Holy Spirit to give me boldness and it worked. it was a really big lesson for me, understanding that I wasn't helpless to my weaknesses. in fact, my weaknesses are mostly just there so that God can give me the strength Himself.

😂 Funny yet not funny , cause I eventually walked out of one of these groups , gossip disguised as sharing and gossip disguised as prayer requests, luv your humor 💗
So funny... I'm actually wanting to start a ladies Bible study group, very soon, that focuses on building godly character, including the 2 sides of gossip (the teller/the listener), fruit of the Spirit, Proverbs 6 that gives that nice little list of the things God hates to see in people's character. A personal revelation God opened my eyes to: we are on a slippery slope when, having the Spirit of God in us, we choose to echo the accuser of the brethren (satan) with our breath & words OVER choosing to echo the angels in Isaiah 6 that are crying "Holy, Holy, Holy." If you are a believer and you are aligning yourself with satan in this respect, not only are you incapable of understanding that gossip is anything but holy, but you are an open door to division within the body of Christ.
@@empnadajhhh9469 not all of them do! A lot, yes. But those are typically very very culturally Christian... because most young “Christians” aren’t Christians at all
I have a fabulous Bible study with 3 of my closest friends, and we really dig in and analyze. This would have been me years back, but God has really grown me! Not to mention my youth group small group is SO amazing and thoughtful. I just want to encourage anybody reading this to really try out digging into the word with a pen and highlighters and analyze it. What you get out of it is incredible.
Ally, I have never led a Bible study like this. I am so sorry that this is the norm. Why is the Bible not sufficient for study Your presentation is hilarious!
Thank you Lord for my Bible studies! Because if I had to sit through one of these, I would be pulling my own hair trying to find grace for everyone lol
Fortunately, my Bible studies have usually been pretty good. I could really see some of these fitting psychological support groups. They usually do devolve into feelings seshes where people just process gossip (sometimes about the other members of the group) they've probably processed with 20 other people and no one (including the therapist) says anything helpful or even seem intended to help and I could go on. Not all of them are like that but most are. Actually, I was reading one of those girl wash your face books at the bookstore just a few hours ago (though I can't remember the title of it). I only read a few pages before getting bored. I couldn't imagine reading the whole thing. Yeesh! I just felt like it was one of those self-help books filled with those common sense platitudes that sound good but don't actually help because they're just too ambitious. Seems like the whole book could be reduced to, "just try harder and you'll make it" which anyone who has ever actually believed and done that knows it's not true.
This parody is spot on. It is sad to say, most Bible studies for women are emotional fluff that use Bible verses to validate the inner self or inner desires of women. Check most women Bible study books or lessons and it is geared for this type of talk. I would highly recommend that Christian women check out Susan Heck, Martha Peace, and even you, Allie, for some sound Biblical content in order to study the Word rightly (2 Timothy 2:15).
Eric Smith or, you know, read the Bible and use solid commentaries and dictionaries on the side. I do understand that there is value in hearing reliable witnesses to the faith bring themes out of the scripture into our present moment, or better, hearing them bring a theme present in scripture throughout its length or filling in the background information to better understand what was happening, but, can't we start with scripture?
@@agentbflinn1222...rather, Bible plus lexicons and concordances. Commentaries can be so misleading! Forgetting about them can literally be life-changing!

So true. My church has a pretty decent W's Bible study but there is always some of this that creeps in. Got to be determined to call ot out in a kind but clear way.
Holy Accuracy, Batman! Precisely, old chum. *disclaimer: I've never actually been to a ladies Bible study. I go to a men's study which is all men. But it has turned into a ladies style study with all men in it. That's way-worse, if you can imagine. Hey! Do a skit on THAT sometime, please?
You forgot the husband bashing. I don't go to women's "Bible Studies" because just about every single one I've attended was a little bit of Bible and a whole lot of husband bashing. I'm not sure about any other wives out there but I actually LOVE the man I married!
Oh that's terrible... I completely lost it when you said 'we don't use the word sin it's rude'. The delivery killed me. It's so true in some modern churches though.
I've never encountered everything in this skit all in the same Bible study group but I've experienced most of what is in this skit throughout my lifetime with Bible studies. It's sad but I'm grateful to finally see some humor in it.
I can't even remember the last time I've been to a bible study that actually used the bible as the primary book. It was always some other Christian book that had bible verses. I guess that's why it's called small group instead of bible study.
I started going to women’s Bible studies recently and after going 2 times… I am done. They have us read a book instead of teaching a class… And someone at our table is like… “In first John chapter 3 how does this make you feel or how do you interpret it”.. and nothing is actually being taught. It’s so disheartening. Everyone sits at different tables and it seems to gravitate toward certain clicks
True! ...but even more discouraging is when the other women think it's great! So many gals I know that come back from women's conferences just beaming ear to ear and so elated over being "spiritually fed"!! Fed with what I say.....not much scripture, that's for sure! So sad!! There are a few good women out there teaching other women, but not as well known as those who write stuff like "Jesus Calling". Open your Bibles ladies...and dig in!
Many a great bible study is ruined because when believers come together they are usually more interested in venting and talking ('sharing' things or asking irrelevant questions) than listening and learning.
This is funny and sad at the same time! There is so much in "modern" Christian culture that is pagan and not Biblical, and reflective of the world. Also, for me, as a divorced woman without children, I always found women's Bible Studies lacking in anything for me. I was not a wife or a mother. All studies tended to focus on just those two aspects of a Christian woman's life. As if there is no other dimension.
Amen, sister. I also found that in my church that I don’t attend anymore. I never married, I’m 62, and I don’t fit the mold of anyone. Never have. To be accepted, one must be young, married, and have babies…smh. Also, I’ve rejected Calvinism and reformed theology in so many different points.
@CJ P. yes. The American Churches are in bed with the Catholic Church when they signed 513c tax exemption. All denominations are pagan based. True Christianity is very few. We are the true Ekklesia the Church. We meet in homes. People have fallen asleep in these white washed tomb churches. We are the remnant
"I know we are supposed to share the gospel.... but I'm an INFP. I mean I cant be expected to right" LOL...….. I've thought it, heard it and now feel like a dingbat for believing that lie!!
Older women teach younger women to: love their husbands, love their children, to be pure, to be homemakers, to submit to their husbands. That’s the only “Bible study” for women found in the Bible.
@@entropicmomathome where's your proof it's not biblical? How do you even know what books belong in the Bible in the first place? What makes your interpretation correct? Women were among Jesus followers, many as deaconesses. Quit with the perverting the husband / submission / women not being allowed to do anything crap. You read through a modernist lense, albeit one closer to 1800s weird Protestant way.
@M Muss No one said that all women need to do is being housewives 24/7. However, if we are to be honest, taking care of the kids and the house properly rarely requires less than 24/7 commitment. God never did these things because his deity is a male one, simple as that. I agree that the choice of the spouse is as important as having the right parents, at least 1/3 of your life you will spend with them.
@M Muss of course! Women can be CEOs, government leaders, scientists etc! Proverbs shows a virtuous woman who was a business woman! Deborah a judge! Right? But still women must be taught these things because one day they may get married and they need the knowledge from their more mature sisters.
I don’t think not understanding it a male/female thing. I am a woman and had no idea what some of that stuff was, but that’s because the studies at my church aren’t like this. Seriously, though, what were all of those numbers?
You just distilled why I’d prefer men’s bible study over women’s. I’m weary of studies out of books like Wilkin. Let’s get out our commentaries and have our bible reading assignments! We just started a Reformed Baptist church but the WBS still uses these books. Gaaaaa!

Marriage can be a blessing just as being unattached can be a blessing.

Holy accurate.
"I've already 'processed' this with..." 🤣🤣🤣💯💯💯
Unfortunately SO true!! THANK YOU for calling this out Allie!! Thank you for poking fun so hopefully it opens up ladies' eyes to see!! Special Request: Please do an episode about what you think about all this Bethel Church awfulness going on these days on a future Relatable episode.
Also Allie- Have you seen this yet? Lindsey Davis' testimony escaping from Bethel Church. Lord, help us all!!
OK, OK, this is hilarious and convicting at the same time. This shows me how shallow so many of us have become in our Bible studies and being the Christ followers we are suppose to be. I'm totally pointing all my fingers back at me. This pandemic has been causing me to ask God to search my heart on a daily basis.
🤣 oh man this is sooo accurate, and just so sad 😢
As a dude, I never understood why women's studies never seemed to actual read the Bible but instead some other woman's book about being a Christian and struggles or something. No wonder so many don't find it life giving
As a woman, I completely agree with you. ☺️

😂😂 yes! Why I find women’s Bible Studies so “cringey “.
ua-cam.com/video/Ixyuvdo_Sjg/v-deo.html
Yes, that's why when I get invited to a women's Bible study or women's group of any kind, I flat out tell them "No thanks. Don't do HEN PARTIES!"
“So I know we’re supposed to like, share the Gospel but I’m an INFP.”
Me, an INFP: 👁👄👁
I'm a dude, but... same lol
Me: An INFP AND a pieces. I have no chance at being a successful human being lol. But I’m fun 🤩
same, and I regularly go evangelizing with my church (aka approaching random strangers and going door to door trying to spread the gospel)
@@ttwings My biggest fear. Not the evangelizing, the talking to people. Especially random strangers. 😂
@@BasedZillenial tbh it gave me a lot of anxiety in the beginning, and there are times where I'm still a little nervous about talking to strangers. always being with a group helped, but even more than that, realizing that the Bible isn't kidding when it says "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."
I asked the Holy Spirit to give me boldness and it worked. it was a really big lesson for me, understanding that I wasn't helpless to my weaknesses. in fact, my weaknesses are mostly just there so that God can give me the strength Himself.
Haha oh man I literally had my Bible study yesterday! It was 20 minutes of bible study and 2 hours of gossiping LOL I live in Kentucky so it was a lot of 'Bless her hearts' 🤣
😆, when an older Southern women says "bless her heart" and a young non Southern girl thinks she's being sincere. It's the greatest thing ever.
😂😂😂 oh the shade that thrown at a southern womens bible study 😂...there's nothing like it. Bless their 💕's
Sarah Wagner:: I love your videos Sarah!! 💄🏊🔭
Why is this unchristian, worldly, sinful behavior a joke to you guys?
Check your hearts.
@@Silence-and-Violence *sigh* I don't understand why people feel the need to point out the 'sins' of other people. We are not here to judge. I am not able to control those women's actions - however we do have the power to control our own tongue and behavior. I would never tell those women that they are sinning by gossiping, because, gosh, I am not better than them. I sin EVERYDAY! The best thing we can do is lead by example and live as Christ like as possible. I'm sorry my comment offended you!
This just took me back to some cringe-worthy Bible studies I've been to, and clarified why I never seemed to fit in some places...
Sadly too accurate. San Diego girls are on point with this.
So on point! Don't know whether to laugh or cry...
“God gave me a word for you” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂 Funny yet not funny , cause I eventually walked out of one of these groups , gossip disguised as sharing and gossip disguised as prayer requests, luv your humor 💗
“I just feel…” 🤣
You forgot the "feminist" angle.
Feminist have devoured the ladies Bible study.
Yes!

Wow that's sad. Thank God I have not gone to a bible study like this. I think I would say something, have death stares, and then walk up and leave.
Well, thanks for getting through it and only using the word "intentional" once.
Sad, but true.
You're speaking my wife's pain.
Thank you Lord for my Bible studies! Because if I had to sit through one of these, I would be pulling my own hair trying to find grace for everyone lol
Further proof that Allie Stuckey is the best
🤣😂
Unfortunately not far from reality... 🤔
lol this is sadly so true ! I wish I could find a group that really wanted real bible growth.
This was hysterical! And points out the many pitfalls I've seen in small groups, but especially women's groups. When invited to one of these I RUN!!🤪
ua-cam.com/video/aX7G4PvWJR0/v-deo.html
Women’s Bible study be like “Let’s talk about ANYTHING but the text!” My 5 year old niece commented that we just just talk about our “feelings” and “body pauts” 😂
So true. My church has a pretty decent W's Bible study but there is always some of this that creeps in. Got to be determined to call ot out in a kind but clear way.
The Life Groups I attended at my university were the best. We read the Bible, ate yummy snacks, cried at times and literally laughed for hours.
Back in the day you could add which "team" you were on related to the Twilight series! Then Bible study after.
😂😂😂 Anyone who "feels seen" by this needs to hear it 😂😂😂
Oh that's terrible...
Lol.. Allie just validated me coz I only try to be part of co-Ed groups.. And this is precisely the reason why..
Not the “lean in!” 😂😂😂
Love the parodies. Thank you.
And this is why I haven’t joined a Bible study in 4 years! Funny and sad all at the same time.😬
The day after attending a woman's Bible study, Paul wrote 1 Timothy 2:12.
LoLz!!
This is everything 😂 it is kinda sad how true it is 😔
Allie's humor is always on target.
I am so glad to call you my sister in Christ.
I can't even remember the last time I've been to a bible study that actually used the bible as the primary book. It was always some other Christian book that had bible verses. I guess that's why it's called small group instead of bible study.
Unfortunately my women’s Bible study group uses a book and I get nothing out of it… Nothing is actually taught… We just read a book and discuss it
I started going to women’s Bible studies recently and after going 2 times… I am done. They have us read a book instead of teaching a class… And someone at our table is like… “In first John chapter 3 how does this make you feel or how do you interpret it”.. and nothing is actually being taught. It’s so disheartening. Everyone sits at different tables and it seems to gravitate toward certain clicks
I’m dumb late but dis is COMEDY!!! 😂😂😂 mannn
Justifying everything? That's mankind. Women just do it in this format.
I stopped going to women's Bible studies. They were so incredibly shallow that you came away more discouraged than encouraged. It was pretty sad.
True! ...but even more discouraging is when the other women think it's great! Open your Bibles ladies...and dig in!
ua-cam.com/video/aX7G4PvWJR0/v-deo.html
It is hard to find a good women’s bible study group.
This video will make you appreciate your genuine Bible Study times and groups. Her depiction is on target for far too many.
And it is God's instructions to women 101, I see nothing wrong here. Do you?
@@mojmejl3790 When women want to teach theology to other women that’s not biblical. That’s why they should go to their husbands.
“Intentional” 😂😂😂
From attending life group bible studies at a PWI, this is so accurate and sad 😂😔
Okay ??? Guess it’s a girl thing but I didn’t understand a word of that ????
I'm a woman & I don't understand most of it. LOL!
I'm a woman and have no idea what she's going on about.
I don’t think not understanding it a male/female thing. I am a woman and had no idea what some of that stuff was, but that’s because the studies at my church aren’t like this. Seriously, though, what were all of those numbers?
oh boy this was really funny. trouble is on the other end of “i feel i feel i feel.”. God bless you sister
Bible Study Fellowship! Avoids all this. -Danya
BSF all the way! They put the BIBLE in Bible study, which apparently isn't a given.
You just distilled why I’d prefer men’s bible study over women’s. I’m weary of studies out of books like Wilkin. Let’s get out our commentaries and have our bible reading assignments! We just started a Reformed Baptist church but the WBS still uses these books. Gaaaaa!
That Rachel Hollis book.... BIG OOF. Also when she said "you just CAN'T love others until you love yourself... that's just Bible".... that didn't feel good. Not at all. 😅 I'm afraid you hit the nail on the head!!
