    Another biblical habit of godly wives: she is quick to listen and seek understanding, rather than just seeking to be understood 🤍 share yours in the comments below!

    I frequently read 1 Corinthians 13 when I need a reminder of how to love my husband. I was just reading it last night and verse 7 in tpt stuck out to me: “…Love never takes failure as defeat, for it never gives up.” If your spouse feels like you have failed them in a moment, or vice versa, don’t be quick to fall in despair. But pray for their heart to be uplifted by the LORD and give them patience as they heal from it. Cultivate the spirit of kindness in your home and this shall bring you both closer again.

      No offense but it's hard to understand when it's not KJV aka the real thing. Pretty sure you're talking about this verse. 8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

    • @growingwhilegrown
      @growingwhilegrown 10 місяців тому +2

      @@thesunflowersimmer No I’m talking about the verse I mentioned, which is 13:7. I personally do not like kjv because of all the “thee”s and “thou”s and all the “th” at the end of words that don’t originally end with “th”. It’s all too confusing for me😆. But even though kjv or tpt are not the real things, tpt sometimes gets it right with their interpretation of scripture from its original language, like in this verse. You just have to discern and research which translation to go with.😊

      Tip: don't feel like the sole BURDEN of child care, child raising, home care, family, cleaning, cooking, is ALL on you. If it's that way then your husband doesn't respect you.

    • @Kisha_Tech
      @Kisha_Tech 4 дні тому

      @@UnknownHumanOnlineit has been fantastic! We had a beautiful wedding, and marriage life has been incredible! It did take a minute to get into a new routine and get used to living with another person, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything! God is so good!
      I saw another comment say don’t feel the entire weight of doing all the cleaning, cooking, etc. my husband honestly helps me with cooking, cleaning, etc. I do most of the cooking because I’ve been enjoying doing that for him, but if I’m ever like “nah, I’m not feeling like cooking.” He cooks or we get take out. Same for cleaning, if he knows something needs to get done, he does it. We don’t have our house spotless by any means (we have 3 dogs 😅), but we have definitely shared that load for sure

    It's funny how these kinds of things sounded so simple to me when I was still single. 'Yeah of course, I'll be the best wife ever' Then I got married and it's a daily fight honestly 😅 but also.. a chance to die to myself and be closer to God ❤

    • @amandawalker1196
      @amandawalker1196 11 місяців тому +8

      I’m not married yet, engaged. But I feel this so much. I was super naïve before being in a relationship and didn’t realize how much work it would take. And how often I would have to die to self. And how much I would be praying for myself to not be a nag or critical. So many things that I just didn’t understand until I got into a serious relationship. It’s honestly the hardest thing I’ve done.

      Im not married yet so I could be wrong.
      I think there is a distinct difference between simple and easy.
      Yes, the rules are simple, but to actually do it is not easy because marriage provides you with new challenges all the time that need to be judged and dealt with. And dealing with another person and coming to an understanding is hard even if you don't live with them.

    • @GaiaLore
      @GaiaLore 5 днів тому

      @@amandawalker1196it also goes both ways though. Men complain about nagging but what are women nagging about?? About thinks they aren't doing or doing wrongly? And somehow women are the monsters. No,you can't hate to be criticized but also do a lot of bad neglectful stuff.

    • @GaiaLore
      @GaiaLore 5 днів тому

      It can be... Unless men or women use these Bible verses to oppress women if they don't fit into a cookie cutter version. You can like cooking, you can hate cooking. That has nothing to do with gender and one person shouldn't be forced into cooking if they don't like it that's not fair. It's like forcing a man to make a lot of money cause that's "financial stability". No that doesn't help anyone if they feel forced into that and into maintaining a life they don't want.

    We have been happily married for almost 29 years. We are blessed to still be happy. I wanted to find ways I could work on being more of a Godly wife. I have let my standard slip when I listen to this. Thank you for sharing and making it simple to understand and explain how to be better. I am going to listen to this a few times a week to keep it fresh. The one hit me hard was be a peace maker. I have been guilty of not keeping quiet when I should though different issues over the years, including my daughter in law which unfortunately we are now paying the price for. Its been a difficult road. I pray that upon finding this, I will make a change and God wil bless our family and give us unity in the future. Thank you

    I am in love with #1 and I SO agree. I love the story of Esther. She had this probing, time sensitive thing she was dealing with, not to mention presssure. She didn't run to her husband, king xerxes first. She saught God, and she fasted and prayed. This has become my go-to. When there's something I"m desiring from my husband..or a big life decision that I'm going to bring up to my husband, I go to God first. I seek him in prayer and give God time to work. God gave it 3 days I believe it was, and God was moving. But I have also found that it gives God room and space to work on my heart. If I'm wrong, God has the authority to shut it down on my side before I even bring it to my husband (aka protecting our husbands by what we allow to get to him) LOVE THIS GIRL! thank you for sharing such wisdom x

I have tried to pray a lot and for a long time that God change this part of me, but it seems like it'll be a lifelong battle to unroot and, since I've seen what a burden my anxiety has been for my ex-boyfriend, I struggle sometimes with the belief that my desire for a peaceful, Godly marriage (or marriage at all) can ever be fulfilled. I get that its good to respect eachother, not just the wife toward the husband. The bible also says for husbands to honor your wife. I don't get this whole headship thing, though. We are both capable of coming up with good conclusions and plans. We can lead together. I also feel I shouldn't submit to another human, who is fallible, just like me. We should work together in making decisions, and I feel he shouldn't get the final decision because he's got a different appendage than I do. The only headship I am comfortable and okay with is with God's. God is all knowing, I don't want or need a leader/Lord here on earth in the form of a person. Jesus/God deserves to be followed. My husband and I deserve to lead another to help another in the ways necessary. We should seek God on equal footing and not have one above another.

      I have thought about these things too. Sometimes God can tell wife and husband different things at different times (like God told Josef and Mary separately how Jesus was going to be born and then God told Josef where to take the pregnant Mary) Headship is a very biblical consept, if we want to live according to Bible standards and believe Gods will for us is good we cannot take mans headship out of the marriage. It is not about value but about order and protection. And Bible does not say that women are stupid, even wisdom is called she, but sometimes women can be more easily influenced by emotions (Eve) so man is the protector between Satan and woman. In marriage if there is disagreement, woman should tell her opinion with wisdom, but choose to submit to husbands will (if it is not sin) so the family will work in order) it is important to trust mans leadership and help him lead (giving opinions and information is helping) and not constantly quarreling. And if the husband cant lead well we can pray that God gives him more understanding and wisdom to be more Christ like and honoring . we are not only together in marriage God is there too.

      @@Jjjjjj-to6wdthis is so damaging in so many ways. NO YOURE WRONG. Man isn't above woman. And it's funny how you say... It's "not that men are smarter"... But also "women give in to their emotions". Do you realize how sexist that is. On a real level you're saying that man created women weak and that they are easily emotional so they can't be trusted with leadership. This is why women in politics and positions of power have such a hard time getting there. This is why women and men don't listen to female voices because they genuinely believe that the man, inately and biologically, is superior brain wise. Even if it's not downright, "I hate women" it's in more subtle ways. Subtle way that bread exclusion. Like, "women are so strong but also they need men to lead them cause without them they'd be weak". No God did not say women NEEDED MEN or men NEEDED women. In fact, Paul said it's perfectly acceptable for some people to be called to celibacy and being single. To frame, this "headship" as God ordained is wrong. God did NOT intend for man to rule over women. And in the verse he says, "there is no female or male, for you are all equal in God's eyes". So we are equal or is men above women? Which one is it? The Bible clearly says that the domination, predatory, and assertive relationship that men have with women ISNT WHAT HE INTENDED OR WANTED. SO WE SHOULD STRIVE FOR WHAT HE WANTED. end of discussion. And it's so sad to see women literally talking about their gender as if they are helpless creatures who are just bystanders to when it comes to MEN who are the fighters of our lives cause apparently women are just too damn weak. Get a grip. That is not biblical and I would advise you to see counseling for your inner bias towards women and their intellect.

    One thing I wonder about: If your husband has destructive bad habits, like never contributing at all, a bad spending habit, bad personal hygene, or hording, how do you deal with that?
    Im not married yet but I have seen it in couples I know.
    I know that nagging doesn't work, the only thing that seems to work with extreme behaviours is breaking up, then they either fall deeper, or take the push to better themselves.
    How do i not get into this sitution? How would I fix the marriage? Can I really trust that god will fix it? Ive not seen that happen ever.

I don't know what else to do. Husband attacks me with his bitterness and his negativity. What is happening with him. Why is he this way. All I do is give him peace. What do I do to have husband give everything to God. Rather than to me which he attacks me with it all

    Respect for one's own husband should be right next to seeking God, not way down the list, as that is where most women fail, and that is where godly women should set the example. Honouring his needs and desires is almost as important, and serving him should be right next.

    Ironically, it was a secular video on femininity that helped me understand submission and headship. I had been traumatized by a very conservative church that drilled home "husband is boss," "wives obey" period! Sixteen year old me knew something wasn't right, and it seemed like a very sinful, worldly interpretation that had nothing to do with Christ. Anyway, this video described a woman's submission as receiving and supporting, and the husband's leadership as acts of service that motivate a man to be his best. So, you have submit to one another, wives receive and support, and husbands do acts of service in order to love and care for the wife as Christ loves the church. There's no hierarchy or who is the boss there. It's a way of illustrating Christ's command to love one another that speaks to the essences of femininity and masculinity, and as all things (as Christ even illustrated), don't take this to legalistic extremes. I look at husbands and wives as a salt and pepper shaker set: each very different and good on their own, yet best when they work together.

  • @adriannabordeaux

    I respect my husband when and if he deserves it, not because of his appendage. I expect the same in return. I will still treat him with human dignity, but I don't think it's wise to respect behavior that isn't Godly or respect someone who would just supercede my opinions based on the fact that they are a guy.

    • @HomewithLora
      @HomewithLora 11 місяців тому

      That’s odd. I respect my husband because of who I am as a person, and in turn I very frequently find that he more than meets my expectations. It’s like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Tell your husband he’s a good husband and he’ll be a good husband. Show your husband respect and he will deserve your respect.
      When my boys were dating, in their late teens and early twenties, and they would inevitably break up as relationships do at that age, I would always tell them “don’t bad mouth her to anyone. You chose to date her, you picked her, so if you bad mouth her it says just as much about you and your character as it does about hers”

    I'm just speaking from the heart. I do not care WHO I upset, because this NEEDS to be said.
    I was not blessed with marriage. I've dealt with it. I'm not even disappointed with God anymore, but I'm so disgusted by the attitudes of other people that I'm ashamed to be human. One reason that Christians are leaving the faith in droves is because the vast majority of churches treat the unmarried demographic as invisible. This has become an elephant in the room, because it's an uncomfortable topic. It SHOULD make people uncomfortable! The vast majority of churches are failing the demographic of unmarried adults MISERABLY, and instead of taking accountability, they immediately become angry and defensive. I'm not going to force myself into a place where I get treated like I do not matter. I still have a deep love for Jesus, but what I see happening in the vast majority of churches would break His heart, and I am this close to walking away from church because I have been treated so poorly there.
    I know my value. It's just enough that Jesus died for me, but on top of all that... I went to an elite private school in another country (I'm from USA, but the public colleges here are glorified indoctrination camps)... I mean, I went to school in MEXICO and that is an HONOR... how many Americans get to go to school in freaking Mexico?? I speak multiple languages, I play multiple instruments, and I can sing. I know how to ride a horse. I am brave and courageous. And yet... all people judge me on is my naked ring finger. That's all ANYONE ever sees! It's WRONG, and it NEEDS to STOP.
    I know for a fact that some of you reading this have cheated on your spouses. I have NO IDEA who, nor am I accusing anyone in particular. However, I know that some of you who are reading this have cheated. Back when I had social media, I know for a fact that SOME of my "friends" in my network cheated on their husbands. The whole world may view you as superior just because of a wedding ring, but God knows what you did, and one day you will have to answer to HIM for it!
    I hope that what I write here does piss people off, because I deserve to be seen and heard for ONCE, for the first time in FOREVER, and if it makes someone uncomfortable, then I am willing to go to that means to achieve that end. My value comes from God, not a wedding ring. I'm sick of hearing that I'm worthless because I didn't get married. Yet, I get told that practically every day by people who claim to be Christian. What will they do when they answer to God for that?

    did you know eve's name "help meet" is from the heebrew..."ezer kenegdo"
    ...ezer is a word meaning something like warrior helper and used to describe God or other men. Eve is the only woman in the bible with ezer in her name.
    kenegdo means something like a force equal to.
    put those together and you have one heck of a name and character of the first woman, an image for all woman, a warrior helper force equal to the man
    and God has female attributes that help describe His nature towards us....El Shaddai, shad is hebrew for breast, so the image is of a nursing mother taking care of her helpless young.

    If we were religious i would expect him to pray for me if i were to pray for him.
    I asked my sisters christian vicar who has been to university and studied theology about all this submitting to your husband etc and he said belief in god, faith and living a good and decent life is enough. He doesnt preach or teach those things. Ypu must belong to a very fundamental church.

    "The mark of a marriage filled with The Spirit, is mutual submission." - John Piper.
    Scripturally husbands and wives are called to submit to one another, and thereby to honour the example set by Jesus, Who humbled Himself to the point of laying His own life down.
    The teaching that godly wives are to submit to their husbands, without their husbands also submitting to them; is sadly pervasive in many churches, and tragically used as a form of religious abuse by many husbands, and marriages are destroyed as result.

      Pastor’s wife here! Submitted to your husband does not make you less of a partner. Especially if your husband is submitting to God.
      Ephesians 5:22 says Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
      Husbands are called to love us like Christ loves the church. True submission is absolutely beautiful.
      Submission is in the new testament and 100% biblical and needed for a Christ centered healthy marriage. 💖

    Only with the heart of Christ can you be a godly wife and husband.Then, how do you have the heart of Christ? The heart of Christ is only possible through faith in the gospel.
    The Gospel is Jesus Christ in me who has come a mediator of New covenant and fulfilled second covenant made with Abraham,Isaac and Jacob.
    The second covenant, the new covenant, or the gospel, which promises to give the Lord's heart, can be clearly understood by meditating at Deuteronomy 30:6 and below. Hallelujah ^^

No that doesn't help anyone if they feel forced into that and into maintaining a life they don't want.

    also, why are people celebrating valentines day? its a commercial holiday with the sole purpose of causing men to cough up money
    youd be surprised at how many woman (Godly women included) would be angry with their husbands if they didnt celebrate valentines day AND spend money on their wives
