Got my 350M not too long ago and I'm so glad it's still getting updates! Got everything up and running and it's great that retroarch handles games better, even some snes games run well with filters now!
I have jumped between 350, 351 and Retroid Pocket 2 to purchase over and over again. I think I have settled on this. With the updated firmware it’s just user friendly enough and has all the features, including that bigger and better screen. Thanks for all the super informative vids.

I liked the graphic you put up with how many devices this firmware will work on and laying out what’s improved menus. That really helps give a scope to what this firmware works on and why it’s worth doing if you have one of these devices good job 👍🏼
RetroArch is the best thing that ever happened to OpenDingux consoles. In last builds it includes two MAME2003 cores, so the Arcade platform starts to not be a problem. Great video as always.
The problem is every new version of mame is substantially slower than the last. I run MAME on a 200mhz GP2X. Many of the games that work and run either full speed or close to it wouldn't run if it were a newer version of MAME. If the newest version of MAME were ported to the GP2X, it wouldn't run ANY games at full speed. Probably wouldn't run at all with only 64MB of RAM.
Something I found interesting; stock firmware does not support exFAT so if you are coming from ROGUE firmware, make sure you are FAT32. If not, backup the sdcard, format as FAT32, then try again.

Hey Russ, I have updated my RG350 to the beta firmware of opendingux and have retroarch on as well. For some reason I am not able to connect the RG350 via USB. I have the RG350 connected through USB2 on the device but my Windows 10 PC refuses to see that is even connected. I have enabled mass storage on the RG350 and still nothing. There seems to be something wrong with Retroarch DOSBox Pure's Auto CPU setting. Setting it to Max instead seems to significantly improve performance in several of the DOS games I tried.

Russ, I’m about to pull the trigger on one of these Chinese handhelds. I’m torn between the RG350M and RG351M. But I am only interested in playing PS1 games and below (old fart here) so I am leaning towards the RG350M with the 4:3 friendly and better screen than the RG351M. Am I making the right decision?
Yes, that's the right decision so long as you don't mind the user interface. I really like the EmulationStation interface, but if the screen is a bigger preference then the 350M will suit you just fine!
@@RetroGameCorps appreciate your reply a lot! Watched all your reviews in youtube btw. Pico-8 inclusion with the raspberry pi installer made me lean towards the 351M again!!! Splore via Wifi is a big deal!!!
Hey, Russ. I got a question. Do you use any rom manager for naming (and renaming) your rom files for correctly sample, boxart, title and screenshot scraping? If you do, will you do a video tutorial explaining how to use it? Honestly scraping failing and having many roms without their boxarts and stuff is one of the things that keep me out of these retro gaming devices and their frontends (emulationstation, retroarch, etc)
Hi, I don’t use a manager, when building my romsets I compiled “no-intro” collections, which use the standardized naming. So I would recommend sourcing from those collections.

Hey Russ, So they came out with several updates to the adam firmware since you made this video - any chance you could show us what's new in the updated firmware? I just bought an RG280m because of the cheap sale on Amazon. Appreciated always - Tell Chicken i said hi
I Michael, I have two Adam videos on this channel, one for v1.1 and another for v1.2. There have been slight changes since the v1.2 video, but the update process is the same as I show in that video. Unless there's a bigger update I'll probably leave it to those two videos, since they remain mostly comprehensive!

@@RetroGameCorps thanks for the info (and for responding)!
@@blueseeker6 I agree, it's an awesome feature! Plus Shovel Knight and Undertale :)
So I would recommend sourcing from those collections.
the files for opendingux beta are not available to download anymore any other websites hosting it?
Love your vids Russ
hi i was wondering if there is any way to add a shortcut to the game you want into the stock section or main menu of the console with cover art
tried downloading the firmware image from the guide and it links to an empty directory, tried looking through the directory but when i used what looked like the most recent file, but after running the update opk the system doesn't boot and i have to hold down x and y when i boot the system, anyone know what's up or have a link to the proper file?
Hey Russ, So they came out with several updates to the adam firmware since you made this video - any chance you could show us what's new in the updated firmware? I just bought an RG280m because of the cheap sale on Amazon. Appreciated always - Tell Chicken i said hi
I Michael, I have two Adam videos on this channel, one for v1.1 and another for v1.2. There have been slight changes since the v1.2 video, but the update process is the same as I show in that video. Unless there's a bigger update I'll probably leave it to those two videos, since they remain mostly comprehensive!
@@RetroGameCorps Whoops - i don't know how i missed that one - i've watched almost every single one of your videos...i guess i overlooked that one. I'm guessing the 351 elec can't be used on the 280M right?
@@michaelmorales9697 correct, the Adam firmware image is your best bet for the 350 and 280 devices.
@@RetroGameCorps Thanks very much - love your videos, keep up the good work :)
After i updated the rg450m im not seeing any roms anymore and the resolution is diffrent and the
theme too ? Also i removed the main sd card and put the opk file on there too after remoing it and then after formating the ext2 sd card to fat32and the opk file on there this worked but im not seeing anymore games in the roms folders also after pointing it to them ? Only using the opk file to update btw so do i need to update the sd image too is that still the original os ?
hey great video! only thing is i cant find the bios that you mentioned :)
Just to make sure, this works for the RG350/m and p?
Amazing video by the way!
Did it work?
@@joshjones5100 haven't tried :P
You should ask in the RGhandhelds Discord, big community and lots of support. They might know a bit more about it.
Is MGS1 on the PS1 emulator? Or can one find it somewhere to play on this device? 🤔
I downloaded the latest retroarch for OD beta but the archive has an extra folder called "bin" with another retroarch opk file inside of it that's a little more than twice the size of the one in the root folder. Any ideas what's going on?
Hello, so I recently purchased the 350m, and I messed up one of the sd cards when trying to add games. Now I can't even get the device to come on. Do you know where I can download the software again, or purchase new chips with it pre installed.
Hi, you can install the operating system onto a new card through my guide here: retrogamecorps.com/2020/08/18/rg350-firmware/#HowUpgrade
Can someone explain to me what the hell is RetroArch for? Im a total ape for this kind of stuff, need step by step tutorials like this. But what the hell is RetroArch for. Also after doing all this, I cannot load my old PSX save states... any help? I press A and nothing happens
So, uh... what devices are you using and updating in this video?
