I think black blood would be better if it was part of a special event. Like perhaps take damage equal to half your current health and you can upgrade the relic to the black blood form.
that is actually a really cool concept for all of them have a uniqe quest you can find kinda like the colosseum where you can chose between 3 option 1.ignore maybe minor cost (if your a pansy) 2.guarenteed uncommon relic at the end of a difficult fight (so extra elite basically) or 3.do something specific for your class to gain the upgrade for your relic (maybe give you the original if you chose to give it up at the start)
I think it's good if you're a starter. It got me to ascension 5 and it felt amazing finishing most fights with full/almost full hp (except for boss fights which I just won with scaling)

Fun fact: Each card transformed by pbox or astrolabe will proc ceramic fish, which means they also each proc bloody idol if you have it too. I learned this by accident when I took a pbox after act 2 and it gave me like 80 gold and a full heal.
Blue candle is low key bonkers on the ironclad, sometimes. If you're running dark embrace and you pick up a necronomicon, every time you exhaust the necro curse it just comes back into your hand, giving you infinite card draw for 1 hp. Situational yes, but it has its moment where it shines
I took orange pellets in a defect run where I got an early snecko eye. Had built my deck around not caring about energy cost. And then all of a sudden everything reverted back to normal lots of fights. Took me by surprise I must say 😅 Still won, probably because I was only on ascension 1, but still. Unexpected interaction for me.
I just lost an A5 defect run bc I built my deck with power spamming lots of cards and then took velvet choker for some reason. Most of the deck was cheap cards and card draw but now I had tons of energy and only six per round
@@elim9054 Boot early on gets tons of value on things like Shivs, Sword Boomerang, Pummel, Dagger Spray, Glass Knife, Barrage and even Tantrum (When not in Wrath) Not to mention the plethora of fights where you get Weakened (Unless your deck is completely cracked with high scaling) especially with the aforementioned cards which more easily go below 5 damage with weaken. I'd honestly put it low C/high D tier. It's decent in Act 1-2 and has niche use against Nemesis in Act 3.
@@tarille1043 It's good with attacks like those early on, but once you find enough strength scaling it becomes useless outside of Nemesis and random situations where your attack barely gets through an enemy's block. If I see it after act 1 I almost never care, and if I see it after my last act 3 elite I'm upset.
@garmonbozia Or you're in act 1 and haven't found 40000 cards and relics yet? Shivs without Accuracy are still good (Blade Dance is 1 mana deal 12/16 damage with base damage Shivs) Glass Knife is a good pick for hallway fights. But against bosses, you can use its damage up. Pummel is still a 1 mana deal 8/10. Meanwhile, these are all good cards to scale into extra damage (Strength, Accuracy, Wrist Blade). Boot makes them better picks early, makes them better in hallway fights before you have played your scaling cards, makes them better when you're weakened and makes them great in fringe fights (Laga in Act 1, Birbs in Act 2, Nemesis in Act 3) What is this comment thinking that picking up cards in Act 1/2 means you should reset the run?
Id say tea set has its uses more for sustaining a first boss early turn. Since you will always have a camp before bosses, it can be useful for just helping to secure a boss that you might otherwise struggle with.
What would people rate it (stone calendar)? I reckon its C or D tier (and im trying to channel FPs logic energies here) cause sure, 52 (i think its 52) on turn 7 is great but how often do combats go to turn 6 even? I take it kind of as a "sure why not" when there's nothing better cause it doesn't do anything for your deck and making any use of it requires you to survive 7 whole turns in any fight
I often value Cracked Crown higher if I'm rich. Since I'd need to see less cards, if I can hit up a bunch of shops for cards. It's also nice if you're going heavy ? paths, even more with Juzu Bracelet, meaning you see less fights overall.
My best run so far was a Silent run, and I was running a ton of shivs and accuracies. Getting Wrist Blade was so symbiotic with that deck, I loved it so much. I was expecting it to be higher haha. That was my first, and so far only time, getting to the heart.
I remember this one run with the defect where I managed to get rid of most of my strikes and I didn't actually have any attacks really mostly doing damage by cycling a dark orb and Art of war was great for that
i'd loved this kind of content, yeah relic is depends on character, card you have, etc, but the thing is the way frost explain the relic is kinda make me got new perspective that quite helping. and i bet everyothers feels the same. btw, after THOUSAND floors, HUNDRED of hours i finally done with A20 run on ironclad and silent (defect and watcher soon, unlocked but haven't clear yet) thanks for a good content :D
I like tier lists because I like listening to folks who know a lot about video games talk about those video games! I usually learn something, and the passion makes me happy
Side note for my random opinion, I think of s tier relics as relics that change how you build your deck, or make you want to build around them. Like if I see tough bandages on silent, I'm immediately taking/upgrading calculated gambles and other discard stuff that I would've skipped. Or dead branch making me autoclick anything with the word exhaust on it like a grinning, braindead moron. Fusion hammer is good on EXACTLY the watcher because of lesson learned, and even then I usually want some other incentive to take it. The other day I had LL, warped tongs, all but one strike and defend gone and all but 6 cards upgraded by the end of act 1 (bless rnjesus for that one) and the fusion was super super juicy
I love the watcher relics because watcher is my favorite character. My favorite other relics are: golden idol, bloody idol, old coin, the courier, astrolabe, black blood, bottle tornado, ceramic fish, runic dome, cursed key, du vu, darkstone, membership card, cleric face, prayer wheel, mummified hand, and ice cream.
35:25 "I don't like to rest. I'm greedy, and I like to flex my abilities in the game by thinking that I can upgrade, and then dying to the champ". Never have I related to something so much.
I like the crown WAY more than F tier. Sometimes you basically have a run in the bag or CLOSE to it.. and if it's 2nd boss relic.. it only "hurts" you a few more times and honestly might not even hurt
Yes, crown is good in the vanishly rare type of run where its downside is irrelevant, but literally every other energy relic is way easier to make less punishing most of the time
If you only take it when you're already winning, then the relic doesn't really do anything for you. You either win or you lose, "winning more" is useless.
My first win against the Heart was A0 Defect with a Lizard Tail dropped by the Awakened One and 2 fairy in a bottle's. I should not have won. I used all 3 lives. Awakened One handed me my victory by dropping me that Lizard Tail
@@etiennechaplais1764 ok i actually reinstalled the game and looked at my run history just now. that run happened in 2021 and it was the shield and spear fight that dropped me the tail, not awakened one, sorryyy
I’ll always love waffle for what it did for me on ascension 19 Silent. Get slowly beat up during Act 3, walk into a shop right before time eater with 7 hp left, and the magnificent waffle saved me. It was a pretty weak deck and I took like 60 damage from Time Eater, so I basically needed every bit of HP it could give me.
A lot of the boss relics depend on if you get them in Act 1 or Act 2 IMO. IE an Act 1 Black Star is mucho better than Act 2. Opposite for Busted Crown, Ecto, and Fusion Hammer which are much sexier in Act 2 and I'd argue should be 2 tiers higher if you see them in Act 2.
dear mr. prime, i got into slay the spire from watching your vids for a few years and today i finally beat the heart for the first time with a clunky dead branch shiv deck are you proud of me
I think dead branch should be higher, maybe A for Ironclad/Silent and B or C for Defect/Watcher. It's true that you sometimes don't want it, but those are niche situations that don't happen most runs (eg you already have Pyramid or your deck can exhaust down to one hand and go infinite). If you get Branch early in an Ironclad or Silent run and just intelligently draft around it and you don't get screwed over on finding energy solutions, it will basically carry the entire run.
Even if you don't remember Odd Mushroom, the effect still applies. Quite a few enemies apply vulnerable, notably the heart does on turn 1. Similar to the Phrog and the Krane, it's a passive bonus that you get for the rest of the run.
One of my go-to uses for the clockwork souvenir is that it removes the debuff that makes you lose stats at the end of the turn like on Flex, so if you use the card before an enemy removes the artifact then Flex becomes a free 4 strength for the whole fight.
Before you criticize, keep in mind that ignoring context is the point of this list. It is about how much re relics benefit decks in general. Of course, relics like Caliper, that makes you loose only 15 armour at the end of turn is B rank in a regular deck, but S rank in an armour based deck, Like Ironclad Body Slam, that attacks with armour; or Defect Frost, that stacks armour generating abilities while slowly chipping away at the enemies health.
it'd be cool if bing bong let you pick three relics from a wider pool, like have a couple linked for each slot (like how chest relics are linked to the key)
Came for the tier list, subscribed for the effortless charm, comedy, and game knowledge. #nohetero but you are a joy to watch and exceptionally charismatic. I know this is an old vid but I wanted to drop some compliments soonest I could.
Fusion hammer is good in the following scenarios, bottled appo, lesson learned, mind bloom (i am awake), warped tongs, any of the egg relics, and if most of your main cornerstone cards are upgraded.
Mecury Hourglass being slept on. Deals stupid damage over the course of a run. Hard to quantify its actual value but the fact its slightly worse on average compared to Charon's Ashes...makes it still pretty good. Big downside is that it deals its damage at the start of your turn. Sometimes you'll still end up taking damage because it doesn't kill enemies before they attack.
Wether it deals the damage at the start or end of your turn, you still end up dealing the same amount of damage. So if if you don't kill it with Hourglass ticking on round start, you wouldn't kill with it ticking on round end
One of the main issues with it, is it can mess with stall tactics. Like, shuffling your deck to get Feed/Ritual Dagger/Lesson Learned/Hand of Greed/Genetic Algorithm/Reaper/Alchemize off. Since it will constantly tick away at enemies regardless of what you do. Similar to Stone Calendar.
"slightly worse on average compared to Charon's Ashes" I don't know. If you have a solid exhaust deck you can probably tick ashes way more than once per turn on average. With stuff like corruption/fiend fire/second wind it goes nuts. Also as Tarille pointed out, hourglass can mess with cards that scale or otherwise reward you if you finish a fight with them. This is another plus for ashes because -- barring specific things like drawing dazes or voids -- you control when it ticks. I'm rarely disappointed to get an hourglass because it's still consistent aoe, until I get one of those cards and then it feels like a curse that you can't get rid of.
I think Sneko Skull is great for one situation: You're a shiv deck that for whatever reason picked up Envenom, and then maybe you find a bottled tornado. Because that's when it kind of stops being slightly better damage in the vein of Poisoned Stab to some actually serious, and seriously scaling damage over time against enemies that shivs aren't fast enough for on their own. The problem is that you need to take envenom for Sneko to be good and you need either Sneko or an already good shiv deck for envenom to be good, and so most of the time, you need one of the two early, probably from a Whale choice, and the second one ideally by the end of act 1 (maybe middle of act 2, since some act 2 fights like avocado or sphere are bad for envenom)
I’ve gotten into this game recently and after tens of hours I have learned one thing above all else: I suck at this game. There are so many fun ways to play characters that are not optimal. Like the silent with not attacks. Dodge, Dex, and poison only. The enemies are fighting a cloud of smoke.
I think broken crown is D tier. I haven’t taken it often, but if you have a good deck at the end of Act 2 and I’m offered it, I usually take it because I know I should be skipping to keep my deck slim anyways. Too often I take a card that looks fancy and shiny even though it doesn’t actually help my late game deck overall. I almost always want late game energy though, so if I am going to be skipping cards anyways, putting some blinders on isn’t the worst thing. It’s not useless, I just don’t want to see it unless my deck already has a solid gameplay.
I look and bing bong at bottom, then I look again and bing bong at the top with friends. No idea what happened in between, but that must have been a lot of subs.
49:21 I definitely find Lizard Tail to be a lifesaver for Awakened One second phase, and can demolish before he gets me a second time. Same with Time Eater post-heal.
boot + multiattack murders mobs with wraithform. Which is more than i can say about black blood. it also helps early game against some of the shield users, with multihits dealing 5 instead 3 per hit. I think having it that low is kinda bad. It also helps against the robot elite in act 1 since it ignores his debuff :)
Runic Cube is great on Ironclad with a Rupture deck. All your HP loss cards draw 1 and Brutality draws 2. POG Also, I had Red Skull on that run and got a Feed floor 1 so my max HP was 150. I stayed at half (75) and got that 3 strength every fight plus Rupture and Limit Break, I got up to around 40 Strength pretty consistently. POG
@@elim9054 True! I forgot to mention that. I've had Rupture deck runs with Runic Cube a few times, the first time I had Combust I was so mad when I realized what it meant 😂 now I never take Combust with Runic Cube
Bottled flame is only good of you have a retain attack like sands of time or maybe like guaranteeing like a cut through fate something with a bonus effect that you really want to have in your opening hand but you can get the bottled flame and just not have anything good and end up with just more clutter in your hand
Even better than SoT: Talk to the Hand. I recently had two very similar Watcher runs one after another where I managed to get to the Heart (mainly thanks to Frost's tierlists! So it was the well known Watcher tactic of entering and exiting Wrath multiple times a turn and constantly playing lots of 0-cost attacks). The first one, the Heart had like 40 hp when I died, the second one I died on the 3rd turn. Both decks had two copies of TttH. The difference? In the first run, one of TttHs was bottled. I do agree though that it is a pretty niche case.
I think chem x is a lot better cause it is a shop relic. C is understandable if you could get it after Elites but since you get to choose if you want it I think it’s more b tier. Sometimes it’s good and sometimes it’s not.
I’ve only really played the game for a few hours so far, beat it as the watcher and the silent once, and I never knew just how many relics this game has
I dunno, Lizard Tail in A20 is almost always a blessing to me. I do often have to use it in Act 4, but I tend to lose it without dying earlier in a run too, generally in Act 2 against an Elite or against a fight in any Act that my deck just wasn't ready for, but it let's me further develop my deck and has won me some runs. Like a fairy. Or, like a smoke bomb but you get the reward. I have definitely used it and then just died anyway. It's just not as common as it saving a run or getting me much further than I would have gotten!
I think your view on Pandora’s box might be a little biased. I mean, you’re always so lucky with it, somehow often getting like 8 claws or 8 feeds with it, while we mortals have to be content with like 3 entrenches, 2 clashes, a bloodletting, a seeing red and an exhume.
I just started playing a few days ago and crown is great.. the 'less cards' you get in rewards seem to be the better selections anyway and often, I receive a card I want anyway, making it just a straight up +1 energy, especially late when your not looking for much... love this video. Helps me have a better understanding of the relics and the game in general ❤ thanks! 😊 also, do you apply 'quadrant theory' to this game??? VERY useful
"The 'less cards' you get seem to be better anyway" This is just textbook confirmation bias. Seeing fewer cards inherently means you're less likely to be able to add good cards to your deck. Adding cards from combat rewards is the most available way to make your deck stronger, so crown is usually extremely crippling -- especially as a swap or your first boss relic. Also, because of some mechanics with how card rewards are generated, crown makes it much less likely on average for non-boss rewards to offer rare cards. This isn't to say all rare cards are equally strong or pickable, but they tend to be strong cards so losing out on them is a major downside.
I'm a really new player Played each class once, and won with the automaton guy and The Watcher Won with the Watcher partially because one of my game start options was the bell, and it gave me unceasing top.. among other things. That run was insane. Final tower boss before the heart got beat turn 2, and I was able to kill the Transient turn 4 Anyways Loved the coffee dripper More action economy? Heck I don't need to heckin rest if i get to play an extra card every turn And I rarely rest anyway, upgrading cards is too good, I heal at the end of an act So yeah, always liked that one, took it the first time I saw it, wasn't scared And man That bell Is goaded if you can get it early on. 3 relics for a curse? Just grab more cards so the curse gets watered down Idk if I'd take it mid run But early, especially if you can get it before your first combat, you get 3 relics, and can build around those in the curse Girya Completely agree Got it on my Watcher run And let me tell you +1 strength on a watcher is actually +2 Starting battle with an effective +6 strength is insane Especially with cheap cost, or multi attack cards God damn Oh, you put it in A. You were right first with bottom of S Agree with shuriken as well I also got that on my Watcher run Very silly, especially when you're playing maybe 6 or more attacks in a single turn due to unceasing top Despite few fights lasting longer than 2 turns, it still did work
Exactly half of the bosses in the game, in fact. The Collector, the Heart and all three of the act 1 boys never attack on turn 1. Edit: I forgot Bronze Automaton, so it's actually more than half of the bosses.
Was about to type a wall of text disagreeing with Black Blood being F tier. But actually typing out every point I had and rereading what I had written made me realize that yes. I am wrong and Black Blood is actually ass tier
I did a boss relic swap with Neow once and it gave me thunder strike, blizzard, recursion, chill, echo form, capacitor and two skims. It's still a good relic, but that's a hilariously bad pbox when you don't have any other attacks.
Did anyone get inspired with relic ideas from all this discussion? I have one to share. Bottled Rainbow Choose from 20 random cards of any color. Start combat with that card in your hand. The card is ethereal.
id have to argue mark of pain is c its situational, if your deck has evolve or can work around wounds its no problam, and iron clad has several ways to work around them.
The issue with things like Evolve and Medkit to work around Mark of Pain, is that you can still get screwed by the Wounds on early turns before you've drawn and played Evolve or before you've drawn scaling cards to help you live through a fight. If Mark put the Wounds into your discard, then sure, it'd be a C or even B tier relic because you can guarantee your early draws and get Evolve up before the Wounds come. But as they go into your draw pile, you can get rekt by turn one drawing Wounds instead of actual cards.
I literally had the situation happen where I beat the boss. It’s not a run where I need the energy, ectoplasm and mark of pain, so I took black blood or whatever it’s called
Damaru is one of those where if you're not building Divinity, it's almost useless (What fight realistically goes on 10 turns?), but if you ARE building Divinity, then it's still almost useless because you probably have decent consistency with reaching it anyway. I will say it works well with a Divination, since it basically reduces the number of turns it takes to reach Divinity by 1, but outside of that it's too situational to be good
That's literally just one encounter though. Nemesis is the only enemy in the game that goes intangible. That said Boot also gets value in some early encounters imo, like Lagavulin or against the red mask guys in act 2 who weaken you every turn
Annoyed that nobody else has done this so I am now doing it, if only for my own use.Along with the reminder that frosty here reckons that in general (TM) you should take the blue key if its below C tier. Fun fact; you can copy the time code right from the video player. I did not figure this out until I was an hour in.

What a legend, good man.
Absolutely. Pretty much the only reason Black Blood is bad at all is because you almost always have to choose it over better options.
true, as boss relic its kinda meh
I think it would be cool if you could trade it for ur starting relic to the fire spirits

I am so appalled by the tier list not including the obviously best relic in the game: Spirit Poop.
Means you got rid of a curse, of course it's fantastic!
I am very disappointed by that also... should be the only s+ relic in the tier list
Also no circlet
Had to be removed to keep the tier list balanced. If it was included all other relics would be forced into F-tier by comparison.
@@vadandrumist1670 I LIKE DUCKS
As someone who's trying to not suck at slay the spire, I found his reasoning on certain relics' value to be very helpful.
Blue candle is low key bonkers on the ironclad, sometimes.
If you're running dark embrace and you pick up a necronomicon, every time you exhaust the necro curse it just comes back into your hand, giving you infinite card draw for 1 hp.
Situational yes, but it has its moment where it shines
or with rupture infinite streangth,, its how i made a deck capabale of doing 3000 damage turn one.
Dead branch. Make the ass cards less ass.
with tungsten rod its just infinite draw
Runic pyramid, feel no pain, dark embrace, Charon’s ashes with Necronomicurse just goes HARD.
Runic cube + Blue Wax Candle + Necronomicon + Mummified hand
I took orange pellets in a defect run where I got an early snecko eye. Had built my deck around not caring about energy cost. And then all of a sudden everything reverted back to normal lots of fights. Took me by surprise I must say 😅 Still won, probably because I was only on ascension 1, but still. Unexpected interaction for me.
I just lost an A5 defect run bc I built my deck with power spamming lots of cards and then took velvet choker for some reason. Most of the deck was cheap cards and card draw but now I had tons of energy and only six per round
@@pilgrimspromise1132Yeah Choker will screw any run that likes card draw and card spam
Everyone diss the boot
Until they draw all their attacks while the Nemesis is intangible
Cool, that's literally the only time Boot gives you consistent value if your deck isn't trash.
@@elim9054 Boot early on gets tons of value on things like Shivs, Sword Boomerang, Pummel, Dagger Spray, Glass Knife, Barrage and even Tantrum (When not in Wrath)
Not to mention the plethora of fights where you get Weakened (Unless your deck is completely cracked with high scaling) especially with the aforementioned cards which more easily go below 5 damage with weaken.
I'd honestly put it low C/high D tier. It's decent in Act 1-2 and has niche use against Nemesis in Act 3.
@@tarille1043 i think the only time boot is good is when u fight lagavulin with max hp... the rest meh... is not really going to change the fight
@@tarille1043 It's good with attacks like those early on, but once you find enough strength scaling it becomes useless outside of Nemesis and random situations where your attack barely gets through an enemy's block. @garmonbozia Or you're in act 1 and haven't found 40000 cards and relics yet?
Shivs without Accuracy are still good (Blade Dance is 1 mana deal 12/16 damage with base damage Shivs)
Glass Knife is a good pick for hallway fights. But against bosses, you can use its damage up.
Pummel is still a 1 mana deal 8/10.
Meanwhile, these are all good cards to scale into extra damage (Strength, Accuracy, Wrist Blade).
Boot makes them better picks early, makes them better in hallway fights before you have played your scaling cards, makes them better when you're weakened and makes them great in fringe fights (Laga in Act 1, Birbs in Act 2, Nemesis in Act 3)
What is this comment thinking that picking up cards in Act 1/2 means you should reset the run?
Id say tea set has its uses more for sustaining a first boss early turn. Since you will always have a camp before bosses, it can be useful for just helping to secure a boss that you might otherwise struggle with.
i personally don't think tea set does much to help boss fights though
This was my thoughts as well. That extra energy can help set up your powers to make the boss much easier

the mark too :(
What would people rate it (stone calendar)? I reckon its C or D tier (and im trying to channel FPs logic energies here) cause sure, 52 (i think its 52) on turn 7 is great but how often do combats go to turn 6 even?
I take it kind of as a "sure why not" when there's nothing better cause it doesn't do anything for your deck and making any use of it requires you to survive 7 whole turns in any fight
@@Loctorak F tier. If it’s turn 7, I’m probably either immortal or have lethal regardless.

My best run so far was a Silent run, and I was running a ton of shivs and accuracies. Getting Wrist Blade was so symbiotic with that deck, I loved it so much. I was expecting it to be higher haha.
That was my first, and so far only time, getting to the heart.
The real synergy wrist blade is with mummified hand or madness or bullet storm. If you can make an attack 2 or 3 cost 0, it has the same effect
I remember this one run with the defect where I managed to get rid of most of my strikes and I didn't actually have any attacks really mostly doing damage by cycling a dark orb and Art of war was great for that

My favorite other relics are: golden idol, bloody idol, old coin, the courier, astrolabe, black blood, bottle tornado, ceramic fish, runic dome, cursed key, du vu, darkstone, membership card, cleric face, prayer wheel, mummified hand, and ice cream.
I’m irritated that I missed most of this from the stream, so cheers for the poggy content, Frost!

Agreed, I'd like to see artifact tier list that groups them by what character they are best with.

I’ll always love waffle for what it did for me on ascension 19 Silent. Get slowly beat up during Act 3, walk into a shop right before time eater with 7 hp left, and the magnificent waffle saved me. Bro I just started playing the game a week ago. Henceforth, I just found you on UA-cam. You are freaking hilarious. Thanks for the content!
Ecto is act 1 only
@@idontbelieveinmagic I stand corrected!
dear mr. prime, i got into slay the spire from watching your vids for a few years and today i finally beat the heart for the first time with a clunky dead branch shiv deck are you proud of me
So happy to find out you're a melee fan through this video, melee friends got me into slay the spire. Full circle poggy
cute dress dude also really enjoy hearing your thoughts on the relics, good video
One of my go-to uses for the clockwork souvenir is that it removes the debuff that makes you lose stats at the end of the turn like on Flex, so if you use the card before an enemy removes the artifact then Flex becomes a free 4 strength for the whole fight.
the poison formula is:
X: poison amount
(X/2)x(X+1)= damage after it uses it ups
One really fun relic interaction I learned exists last night: Singing Bowl works with Orrery.
48:02 as a Belgian, I approve. Waffle does deserve a higher tier for being a waffle
Been binging your content the past few days and didn’t realize we had the same name. Super helpful info for us newbies thanks for the content!
This honestly made me rethink various relics
Now I have an objectively perfect and correct tierlist to refer to for the game
Came for the tier list, subscribed for the effortless charm, comedy, and game knowledge. #nohetero but you are a joy to watch and exceptionally charismatic. I know this is an old vid but I wanted to drop some compliments soonest I could.
As a watcher player, I'd like to note fusion hammer ca be incredibly pog with lessons learnt.
Fusion hammer is good in the following scenarios, bottled appo, lesson learned, mind bloom (i am awake), warped tongs, any of the egg relics, and if most of your main cornerstone cards are upgraded.
I have learned so much from watching you play, and I have been taking coffee dripper more since I started playing
Lizard tail in act 1 is S tier since you can build your deck around what you need in Act 2. Like taking 2 Echo forms or something.
it's incredible there's so many A and S tier relics, fantastic game design! I'm just getting into the game myself, here in 2024
I've been waiting for this! I wanted it so bad I did one of my own a few months back. Thank you Frost!
"slightly worse on average compared to Charon's Ashes"
I don't know.
POG
Also, I had Red Skull on that run and got a Feed floor 1 so my max HP was 150. I stayed at half (75) and got that 3 strength every fight plus Rupture and Limit Break, I got up to around 40 Strength pretty consistently. POG
*it's great with a rupture deck, UNLESS one of your self-damage sources is Combust.
One of the most annoying interactions in the entire goddamn game.

I’ve only really played the game for a few hours so far, beat it as the watcher and the silent once, and I never knew just how many relics this game has
Oh thank God I really wanted to watch this.
Finally Tristan sees the truth. Claw is good, Claw is Love, Claw Gang!
I think your view on Pandora’s box might be a little biased. I mean, you’re always so lucky with it, somehow often getting like 8 claws or 8 feeds with it, while we mortals have to be content with like 3 entrenches, 2 clashes, a bloodletting, a seeing red and an exhume.
horrifying realization that I know what every relic in the game does just by looking at its art.
I just started playing a few days ago and crown is great.. the 'less cards' you get in rewards seem to be the better selections anyway and often, I receive a card I want anyway, making it just a straight up +1 energy, especially late when your not looking for much... love this video. Helps me have a better understanding of the relics and the game in general
❤ thanks! 😊 also, do you apply 'quadrant theory' to this game??? VERY useful
"The 'less cards' you get seem to be better anyway"
This is just textbook confirmation bias.
I agree with you on Omamori but also it lets me shamelessly rob poor children so I'd say it's S tier.

Is goaded if you can get it early on. 3 relics for a curse? Just grab more cards so the curse gets watered down
Idk if I'd take it mid run
But early, especially if you can get it before your first combat, you get 3 relics, and can build around those in the curse

And let me tell you
+1 strength on a watcher is actually +2
Starting battle with an effective +6 strength is insane

I don't agree with anchor being an S tier. There are a TON of enemies that don't attack you on first turn.
I am wrong and Black Blood is actually ass tier

id have to argue mark of pain is c its situational, if your deck has evolve or can work around wounds its no problam, and iron clad has several ways to work around them.
Great content, great editing! Good job, guys!
Would Potion Pot go up a tier if it gave your character a cute little witch hat during fights?
SS+ tier
I was waiting for someone to do a video about this!
Damaru is one of those where if you're not building Divinity, it's almost useless (What fight realistically goes on 10 turns?), but if you ARE building Divinity, then it's still almost useless because you probably have decent consistency with reaching it anyway. I will say it works well with a Divination, since it basically reduces the number of turns it takes to reach Divinity by 1, but outside of that it's too situational to be good
Boot has EXACTLY ONE use that I've seen. It still ups damage on an intangible enemy
That's literally just one encounter though. Nemesis is the only enemy in the game that goes intangible.
That said Boot also gets value in some early encounters imo, like Lagavulin or against the red mask guys in act 2 who weaken you every turn
@@elim9054 that's the joke, have a cookie
@@austinchild5170 Literally impossible to discern that through text, but ok 👍
it would be cool if black blood gave hp for every attack you played after the fight, like 1-3
great redesign idea, most boss relics are game changing and complicated but black blood being +6 hp is a bit lame
The song Yarn Yoshi Takes Shape! gave me a headache, other than that, very informative. 7.5/10
Bloody Idol is A Tier for me just cause it's a hard to obtain Relic, yes it's good, but you also need to go out of your way to get it most of the time
