I’ve never understood when someone refuses to share a recipe. As the family baker, there’s no better compliment than someone loving my desserts so much that they want to make them too. I’m honored that they loved it so I’m always happy to share. Hopefully your aunt has the date cookie recipe written down so it isn’t lost when she is no longer here. Prayers for a healthy & laughter filled holiday season. 🙏🏼💜🙏🏼💜

As I read the comments on the channels I watch, I realize how many of the things we do invoke memories of childhood for people. Both good and bad memories. We don’t realize when we’re just living our daily lives, that we are creating memories for ourselves, our children, spouses, and others around us. As I’m getting older, I’m trying to realize that and be thankful for every day, every strength, and everything that the Lord gives me. I’m asking to let the memories I make for others be good ones that they can look back on and it will make their heart happy, bring a smile to their face, and carry them through the hardships of life. God bless you Renea for all you do for your family and others. Happy Thanksgiving.

I hate when your own family doesn't want to share recipes. We lost people who made delicious desserts but they were "secret recipes". Now we just sit around wondering how the heck did they make it taste so good?! Sharing is caring! I don't mind paying for it but don't die without telling us how you made that peanut butter fudge!

I've been there where there was not a morsel left in the cupboard or freezer or fridge. But praise God my mom and dad didn't tell anyone about us not having food and God sent people from the church bring groceries to us. Those groceries not only filled our cupboards, freezer and fridge but they taught me faith and trust in God.

NEVER did I ever raise my 4 girls to think that it was ok to make their mama a short order cook! The meal was prepared, served up, and if they decided they didn't want it, (which was pretty much never), they asked to be excused and their tummies growled all night. Lesson learned. My grandkids , same way, if they are here to eat.
This entitled generation makes me say WOWZERS.

  • @bluedazz
    @bluedazz Рік тому +3

This may be a little lengthy. Most UA-camrs that post videos are doing this as a job. I watch a wide variety of subjects. When a company asks a creator to review or promote their product, it is cheaper for that company than paying an ad agency to produce a full fledged ad. There are too many people that are jealous of others instead of being happy for them.
I was watching you today while in the kitchen prepping for me and my kitties Thanksgiving. Blessing to you and yours and all those watching.

I loved this video. I'm here but I don't often comment. I would want to say to the commenter you mentioned that had something to say about your product reviews, go find something else to do with your life. I love your reviews, especially the food dehydrator one. I wouldn't care what you did with those products afterwards. What mattered to me was, I wanted to hear from someone who CLEARLY knows her way around a kitchen, garden AND storage techniques who would offer honest and tip filled observations.
I definitely bookmarked this video for reference to clear, concise recipes for two trusted favorites. P.S. - Nine and 1/2 lb. chickens .... nice! Warm wishes to you and your family.

Growing up, what my mom put on the table was what there was to eat. If I put something on my plate I had to eat it. I had to clean my plate. Dessert was only served for holidays. Most of the time pinto beans and cornbread were part of supper. Leftovers would be there too if there were any. My husband, however, never ever ate leftovers. He still doesn't. He is a very picky eater. Renea, the viewers who know you would be okay with you keeping the products you review. We know you are a kind honest person and would give an honest review. We also know you would never never "use" your subscribers. I hope you blocked the idiot who made the mean comments. He or she doesn't sound like someone who is part of our community. You and me both! I have three children who are adults now but when they were at home; I made one supper meal and everyone ate without complaint. Everyone did not always like everything that was on the table....but there was always included something that each child liked. (They did not have to eat some of everything I cooked....only exception was with a new dish...each child HAD to take at the least one good-sized bite and SWOLLOW.
The rule was you ate what I served for supper or else you ate NOTHING until breakfast regardless if your siblings ate their supper and were receiving a snack before bed.
Believe me, when I say, after each child probably tested that rule and went to bed hungry....they ate their supper.

Now that I'm a lot older and have more than enough, I look back and wonder how I did it. But I think going through those hard times helps to make us very, very grateful for everything we have. And those precious kids, who are now grown up with kids of their own, learned right along with us.

When the kids were little we didn't have the money to be very picky about what was on the table to eat. Some days it was a struggle to find something to put on the table but I tried to put a balanced meal on the table for them. Most generally there was no problem with what was being served. But we had the rule of eat it or wear it. If there was something new on the table you tried it. If you didn't like it that was OK but you tried it. Now if you refused to try it, it would end up in your lap at the end of the meal and you had a bigger mess to deal with. Didn't take them long to learn.

My mother is law makes the most delicious Date nut bread. She makes a pineapple cream cheese spread and serves it with that. It is one of my favorite things that she makes. She also makes a delicious Sweet Potato Cake. It has grated sweet potatoes in it and one of my favorite cakes that she makes. She is 91 years old and still lives alone. She was still driving until 2 years ago. On July 4, 2018 she was in a bad car accident. A woman ran a red light and broad sided her. She broke both knee caps and had to have surgery to remove the top half of both knees. She healed from that and bought a new car in the Spring of 2019. On Easter Sunday she was hit again when someone ran and red light and turned in front of her. In that accident she broke her neck and her elbow. So after both accident she has had a huge decline in health. She does not get around as well as before. I hate that for her because before both accidents she still did so much. She was so active.

Baked Mac and cheese is my favorite! No one else likes it, though. I'm terrified to use my cast iron for something like that. I guess I just need to do it! Great video!

Hi Renea, I was wondering do you ever have trouble woth your mac and cheese curdling. I have tried to make mac and cheese twice. Once in the crock pot and the other in the oven. Both times they curdled. The crock pot one was fine until I had to add milk because it was getting dry waiting for people. Then it curdled. Guess I should only add water maybe. The oven kind curdled in the oven. I have read up on it and still not sure what to do??

You should make a pan of date squares with those pitted dates. I’m from Nova Scotia and we love date squares. I can share a recipe with you if you are interested 😊

I do my Mac and cheese the same. I like the creaminess of the velvetta with the cheddar. My grandmother made it this way too. Love your videos.
