    Dooooood. Lots of Love here from Texas. From one contractor to another. They don't make us like they used to. Cut from a different cloth and placed here by the good almighty himself to ensure it'll all get passed forward. Good to know there's still some of us good ones still around with all the stuff I've seen over the years. Stay blessed my Hvacr brother from another mother! 🙏 🤠

    I had a similar experience with a 14yr old ac last summer. By taking the time to actually clean the condenser,assess the ductwork, then charge accordingly, I was able to get the most out of the existing system. The lady sad that this was the first time she was actually able to keep her house cool w/o freezing the system. The biggest issue was that they previous techs never looked at the fan speed. I would assume this is where the difference between me and them was. They were mainly an install company versus me coming from a service company. We dealt with these situations alot. By taking the time to actually do what I was there to do,I came away as a hero and she was a very happy lady!

Also, If one return is pulling more than the other, what are the fixes for that without compromising airflow? Once again, very good value to techs trying to do it right?

    is goodman heat pump GSZB404210A good for 2014 mobile home? in amarillo texas , r19 walls, r25 roof, r 30 floor, singal pan widows, 1216 sqft home. not air tight it has leaks. temps below 20 is like 8 days during heating seanson. i set termostat to 74 f and am using electric furnace 10 kwh for 108 hours a month. my electric rate is 0.097 kwh. the highest bill to have was 250 but that is from whole home usage. the goodman heat pump says it uses 2.9 kwh at 10 f with a COP of 2.08 and a 2.7 kwh with COP of 1.34 at -5 f. the price for the 5 ton a-coil and 3.5 heat pump is $4,876. i can get 30% off that price on rebate then it whould be $3,413.235 also, why whould tech go with mortex 5 ton a-coil and 3.5 heat pump. thanks for help.

    Question for you on a job of installing AC in a newer built Mobile Home-
    22 x 65 ( North side along a long side) Newer constructed with R-40 in attic, R-20 walls, R-24 Floor and Double pane windows. Did a Manual J and total cooling load is 14,000 BTUH. Approx 13000 sensible 1000 latent. We have very low wb in my region of Canada. House is 1622 sq ft but it appears a 2 ton will handle it??
    Going 2.5 ton would be grossly oversized. Your thoughts please.

      @@TaddyDigest Hi Tad
      This is a split system. New Nordyne gas furnace. As you probably know the ductwork built in the floors of MH is usually quite small (14 x 5) and of course all the RA is drawn through the filter panel on the furnace. There is 12 floor registers.
      Manual J tells me a 2 ton will easily cover the 14000 BTUH but just concerned with 1622 square ft of area. But moving up to a 2.5 ton would put this way oversized. Our design condition in this area is quite low 82ºf OD and 70ºf indoor. We are a dry region not a lot of RH.

    • @maddrummerhef
      @maddrummerhef 19 днів тому

      Old comment but study manual D it will teach you how to actually determine the systems operating static pressure and then you should use that number during duct design. Taddy is using .05 probably because most blowers are rated at that amount of static but if you look deeper most blowers actually have a range of acceptable static pressure and it’s unlikely any system is actually at .05 without specifically designing the duct work for that.
