The thing ive learned is that i have been plugging in my vga socket into the built in graphic cards instead of my nvidia! LOL THANK SO MUCH.
Just got a laptop today at Best Buy, I was lucky to notice they used a prefered GPU instead of RTX, when I bought the laptop and asked them to changed it for me, theey required me to buy the membership in order to get that "service". You sir are very kind and helpful.

Should I set my *global* settings to my high performance graphics card, AND also go to *program* settings and add the game I want to run on my graphics card and then select on High performance NVIDIA graphics card in program settings as well? Sorry if this is confusing, I just really need help.

Hi, I have Inrel and Nvidia adapters in my old HP laptop (Windows10) but do not have "NVIDIA control panel" in menu, There are only "Graphics characteristics" and "Graphics parameters". Would you advise how to set my Nvidia adapter in this case?

My default graphics card was the intel uhd graphics 630 and my second graphics card that I didn't used was the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 so I set my default graphics card as the Nvidia one

Can you explain why the NVIDIA Control Panel only has 3D settings, and not the Display settings? On my old laptop, I have a whole section to adjust the Display gamma, brightness, colors, etc. , but not on my new one. My new one looks like yours, with just the 3D settings.
I have the "Choose processor" option in physx but not in the manager 3D settings tab. its just the list of global settings. I have been searching and searching to find a fix (or if it needs to be fixed). New install of Win 10 GTX970. Why can one tab see the card and not the other?
Can it switch automatically when we plug into power? Or an external monitor? (like AMD switchable graphics)
Nah I think. I got asus amd radeon too it only sets to high power whenever plugged doesn't do much on graphics card unless you set it like what was in the vid

I just got a GL65 and it was using intel UHD.
I'm using a laptop with pre-installed windows 10, but I'm now using a different hdd with windows 8.1 installed.
When I'm logged in my windows 10, it has Intel HD 620, but when I'm in my windows 8.1..the display is Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.. I also installed same nvidia from my win10 to my win8.1...
but I can't run 3D games in win 8.1 it always crashes..
when I look in intel 620 it says only compatible in windows 10 above,,
can I install other intel in my windows 8.1 even if its not intel 620?

What I did and what my friend told me was as soon as the computer turns on after a shut down, press f2(not letter f and #2) and if u did it fast enough it should work. This is only on windows which I’m assuming ur on

i can't even access the control panel i have updated all my drivers intel and nvidia and when i had access to the control panel i didn't have 3d settings. only had developer settings
im having the same problem! it tells me that control panel is not compatible with the current nvidia driver
when i disabled my integrated from the device manager this happened to me as well. When i renabled it all settings for nvidia came back
i have intel hd 3000 and nvida 2000quatro, when it goes into mange 3d options and i go to turn on nividia high perfomance there is no there is only some base profile and 15 different options, do you know why that?
My intel contro pannel is missing and whenever i try to play video it flicker and the system froze. Any solution for this. I tried updating my graphics driver but it schemes like it doesn't work at all.

this is no longer relevant in the newest versions of win 10. Now it says windows os now manages the selection of the graphics processor and just ignores what you had selected. Ive been trying to find a way to set the card as default in the new version but the best i can find is to set specific programs not everything.

I'm new to this video switching but for laptop I think everyone should consider using the integrated graphic card when their laptop is not plugged in to avoid battery drain.
