They forgot everybody hates Chris dad that man right there was underrated and he had 2 jobs the mom always bragged on at her job “I don’t need this my man has 2 jobs” I’ll never forget that line
Out of all the fathers thar were ever portrayed on a TV sitcom, JAMES EVANS SR on GOOD TIMES was by far the most authentic no-nonse dad on tv. He was the living embodiment of that song by JAMES BROWN called "PAPA DON'T TAKE NO MESS". The father on GOOD TIMES should be in the number one spot.
0:20- Oh please, we need more strict fathers because these kids today have no discipline whatsoever. And when God blesses me with children and a husband, I DO NOT want my children to be disobedient ingrate savages.
I'm glad Flex Washington is on here. He gets overlooked too much and I'm glad he gets his flowers. The only father I believe is missing is Robert Patterson from The Parenthood.
They shouldn’t never messed with Franks character on Moesha. He should’ve been left alone. Had they didn’t changed his character I bet the show would’ve last longer a lil longer. Also Curtis Payne gets an honorable mention. So does the fathers from the Raven Franchises and Roger on Kenan & Kel
@@jackson11162002 I disagree with the idea that JAMES EVANS should have had the number 2 spot. I actually believe that JAMES EVANS should have had the number 1 spot. He was the GOAT of TV fathers. His television portrayal of a black father in the hood was second to none.
I have to admit that I appreciate all these dads as they had great realism to them. Due to finding out many things about Cosby of these on this list probably Uncle Phil is my favorite. I may admit biasedness on the fact that James Avery voiced the 80s Shredder from the Ninja Turtles
Wow you got Flex over Uncle Phil and Carl Winslow. Then you got the dad's from Moesha and Sister Sister over James Evans, Fred Sandford, George Jefferson, and Pops. Im surprised you didn't put the dad from Smart Guy as number 1. You forgot the dads from Blackish and from Everybody hates Chris.
I have seen an actor on screen for years and while I don't know his real personality I am a bit skeptical when women come out of the woodwork after more than 20 years to accuse him of sexual assault I find it strange. It's possible he did what was said and it's also possible someone paid them. It's also strange that the testimony is sufficient without any evidence. It means like the witch hunts several accusations is enough to burn you at the stacks. All this time and no one said anything? Like the witch hunt a number of accusers suddenly felt like wrong was done to them when they saw others making accusations. I'd say I'm still on the fence with this one and the image of Heathcliff Huxtable is still intact.
You forgot Dwayne Martin in All of Us; Anthony Anderson for Blackish The Neighborhood with Cedric the Entertainer Everybody Hates Chris The Parenthood with Robert Townsend Tim Reid of Sister Sister (-) Father in Brandy's Show There is likely more. The title of this video is click bait considering the ones I mention above are more recent iterations of Black dads...............
Your presentation was very good . Right up to the point of that Cosby end remark. You really should edit that out. And you know what we're talking about. Your personal opinion doesn't make you sound respectful.
Why do you keep saying OVERLY strict, these were all chill dads that wanted the best for their children. To be a good FATHER you must be STRICT, the lazy thing to do is to not be strict and tat is why kids are so screwy nowadays.
How does frank beat bernie mac on the fatherhood scale? Or even flex? 😂😂 nah bro y'all toxic 😂😂😂 Mr My way or the highway with a whole kid on the side ?😂😂😂😂 Bernie Mac and Flex never pretended they were perfect parents but you respected their consistency with their kids.
i believe bill cosby is top 1 or 2 but i would of rearranged a few others. But Great list i grew up in the 90s and watched all of them, and seen Good times,227, Amen, Rock, Sandford and son, etc.,etc...because we had basic TV growing up, but they had good wholesome shows that we could watch and were great shows...some of them would been a bit corny nowadays...😂😂😂...but i could still watch them
To me Flex was Meh, and Imo Lamont was More of The DAD figure on Sanford & Son, cause he was the more Sensible of the two, cause Fred did the hairbrained Schemes
They forgot everybody hates Chris dad that man right there was underrated and he had 2 jobs the mom always bragged on at her job “I don’t need this my man has 2 jobs” I’ll never forget that line
TRUE.
For years she was dealing with tommy and we all know "Tommy ain't got no job". When she got a man with 2 jobs she couldn't stop bragging.
GOOD don't like Cris Rock
@@4everitt😂😂
I was waiting for him to get a spot too Julius was a great dad and husband

Absolutely. Unfortunately, his wife held him and his family back.
@tony020480 i was just about to say the same thing lol. She was a terrible person
George Jefferson wasn't just a dry cleaner; he was the owner of a few dry cleaning stores.
Which literally makes him a dry cleaner ...
@@otisjenkinsjr.3556and also a business owner, why are you so desperate to act like the character was just some broke dry cleaner?
Robert Townsend on the parent hood...
If there's no beating Bernie Mac as a black TV dad then why is he number 12?
That's right 😂😂😂
Don't forget Julius from Everybody hates Chris. Charles Emerson from Roc. Robert from The Parent 'hood.
I am glad you remember Charles S. Dutton from ROC
Sounds like they don't want black people seen in a positive way
Yup
They don't want ANY positive fathers. Either dads are absent or the mother runs the household
Current media is sh*t
Exactly! And when they do he has to be a fool or act stupid smh
Never.
Been the agenda.
You forgot the black TV dad from 227 he was SOLID.
Lester
This lineup needs to be reshuffled badly.
Why and how would you reshuffle it?
Uncle Phil at 10….list is trash. He should be Top 3 easily
First things first, rest in peace, Uncle Phil!
FR!
Mount Rushmore of TV Fathers:
James Evans
Uncle Phil
Carl Winslow
Heathcliff Huxtable
🎯🎯🎯
I want to change out James for Bernie but I can live with James up there
@@joeclaridy
In my opinion, James was the greatest one!
Pops and uncle Bernie are unmatched as fathers
0:20- Oh please, we need more strict fathers because these kids today have no discipline whatsoever. And when God blesses me with children and a husband, I DO NOT want my children to be disobedient ingrate savages.

Robert Townsend from The Parent'hood and Terry Crews from Are We There Yet and Everybody Hates Chris should be on this list
They won't because too much positive for blacks strong black fathers I'm still here
"My Brother and Me"
"Everybody Hates Chris" and "Smart Guy" maybe could have made it.
My brother and me doesn't get enough love, man
We need a part 2
@@Sylusander Mr Rockmore Kenan dad
Didn't most of these comics/actors write these roles? We needed them to represent our father to the world. We have good daddies TOO!!!
His role was uncle stepping in as dad.
Agree with number 1 but the others are out of order.
Pops didnt raise them alone....they always talked about the mom...just never showed her
Julius from Everybody Hates Chris is a legend.
And though she was never shown in the Wayans show, they had a live mother that was always talked about
What about Hanging W/ Mr. Cooper? Let's admit the 80s and 90s are the best of black dads being great fathers to America.
Uncle Phil and Bernie Mac cracked me up.
Michael Kyle makes me laugh. I love the character
Bernie Mac was my role model which came in handy when I started taking a big role in raising my niece and nephew then eventually my own kid.
Where are these shows now!!! We need them. Society is breaking down ….
James Evans should have been number 2

Whoever made this list is bugging Uncle Phil at number 10 is crazy
Man! If only there were shows like that today …..
Why do the Smart Guy dad always get disrespected
Uncle Phil is the GOAT
Uncle Phil is my favorite.
We can't forget the no mess taker Lester Jenkins from 227 (Halroy Candis Williams from Sanford and Son).
She didn't have to disrespect. It'll cost you like that at the endhis legacy is not tarnished
You forgot one of the GOATs ROC!🔥
Don’t forget Robert Townsend.
RIP James Avery
They have forgotten the legend who has 4 touchdowns in a game at Polk High, Al Bundy...
Frank Mitchell??? He definitely does not deserve to be #2!

Whoa that last jab at Cosby was uncalled for.
Thank yu for 💙 thiz telly 📺 vizionist.
This is out of order ...but Bill is 1

@7:32 Not sure what it means from the narrator that having an overly priced apartment is better than owning the land and house he had? 🤔
Who are our current TV dads? I haven't watched sitcom TV in years.
The fresh prince of bel air reboot is awesome. I love it. It is on Peacock
What Abt everybody hates Chris Dad.?
I love Geoffrey on the Bel Air reboot

Put some extra respect on Jefeerson's name, dry cleaners are A GREAT SMALL BUSINESS when run correctly.
Do they still make sitcoms?
Mr Rockmore Kenan & Kel raise me
good times!
What about Curtis from Meet the Pains🤷🏾♂️
This list is right but in the wrong order
Popz on tha wayanz had a wife. Tha mama waz invizible known.
Why are we looking for Hollywood to depicted good Dads, as we know that is not part of their agenda.
Uncle Phil ONLY at #10???
Frank Mitchell was TRASH
No Robert Townsend or Uncle Phil? 227?
James evens should have been number 1
I like Uncle Phil on the Bel Air reboot
Growing up I always said that’s the kind of father I wanted to be (michael Kyle) sure enough without trying that’s me 😂
Maaaaan you cant even rank TV dad's before Bernie Mac. Bernie Mac and earlier TV dad's were THEM! There's no TV dad better than them
Cosby
You forgot Dwayne Martin in All of Us;
Anthony Anderson for Blackish
The Neighborhood with Cedric the Entertainer
Everybody Hates Chris
The Parenthood with Robert Townsend
Tim Reid of Sister Sister
(-) Father in Brandy's Show

I don’t like the way she threw that last lol bs in at the end about Cosby
You forgot Terry cres
Some of the critic's are a little off.
Not cool about your statement on Bill Cosby. He deserves way more respect than that.
Unrelated - Uncle Phil was also the 1st shredder
Yes
Where was Julius from Everyone hates Chris?
This list is so backwards, its ridiculous. I know its opinionated, but this is crazy

Why does all these shows seem like they only ran for five seasons 😮
Every show but family matters and the Cosby show

Who made this list? It’s not bad, but the ranking sucks.
That cheap shot at Bill Cosby at he end is the reason why I’ll not like or subscribe to this channel …
I like the idea for the video, but I hate being click-baited. Down vote 👎
To me Flex was Meh, and Imo Lamont was More of The DAD figure on Sanford & Son, cause he was the more Sensible of the two, cause Fred did the hairbrained Schemes
correction pops williams was not a single father, his wife and the boys mother is still alive and together they just didnt show her on screen
