I was a very close friend of Bernie and your video is spot on. He was definitely overworked. They didn’t want him to rest and get well. He was completing Mr. 3000, doing The Bernie Mac Show, filming Guess Who, all while sick. He would sit in his trailer at the Sony Studios while on oxygen. I saw this first hand and it saddens me to this day. He was such a voice for the young and old. My son was 7 when he met Bernie, and he’s 27 now and still remembers his pep talks. He even warned me of dating a certain celebrity I was involved with, who I won’t mention here. He had excellent advice on everything from money management to keeping your word when you give it. It’s like I hit the lottery of friendships. My life has changed since he passed. I’ve opened multiple businesses, got married, live in two countries, etc. I tell my wife all the wonderful stories and memories we had of him. I wish he was still here to see me now.
I'm sorry you've been carrying that sadness for so long. I know without the personal friendship you shared with him, he wouldn't want that. Remember the pep talks your son remembers from age 7? Bernie left us so much & his legacy is untouchable. There will never be another like Him & God blessed you with a close friendship in his time here. I lost my dad cause of it back 2016 he was a type 1 diabetic and no job would hire him cause his sugar would drop or his sugar would get really high. Of course he tried to get on disability but his lawyer just didn't do anything on his behalf. I know a couple of people that's in their 20s that got it for being mentally unstable and they honestly didn't need it, they told me they didn't want to work a 9 to 5 job which made me really mad cause my dad fought for 12 years and at one point lived in a barn and at another point he lived in his van just hoping he would get his disability but it never happened. I've literally seen my dad mop the kitchen floor for 10minutes then have to take a shot to controle his sugar. We lived off $115 a month and it was really hard on him. Of course after he passed then the lawyer was like i can get you money from his case but i told him no cause if he did his job in the first place then my dad would still be here and hanged up on him. They never cared not once unless it was going to give them a big pay check. In the end it was a heart attack that killed him at the age of 48. I miss him every single day and i know we will be together again one day.

Unlike the truth he had a rear disease called Sarcoid. It's a rear lung disease which affects the eyes, skin and lungs if goes untreated it can damage the organs. This disease affects African American culture more than others Bernie Mac was the lung portion which it causes the lymph nodes to become inflammated to being on Steroids. If you notice he gained weight in his face and stomach and a change in his voice. I know because I've been dealing with this for the past fifteen years on and off steroids on oxygen still to this day. Five years ago I lost my vision and my sister cared for me until the Lord restore my sight then it went into remission for three and a half years but came back during COVID-19. This time it's in the right lung but more aggressive now I'm undergoing chemo 600mg on top of a left eye transplant and yes my faith is what's keeping my hopes up. Bernie Mac started a non profit organization for people suffering this disease in Chicago. Bernie Mac struggle with this because he needed more rest under going through treatments. Sarcoid unlike cancer it has 5 stages cancer 4, just a few years ago Teshia Campbell Martin found out she has it that is why her face is swollen because of the steroids so yes his job helped his death because during a flare up we must allow our bodies to rest regardless of a job or not. Sleep well Bernie Mac you are truly missed.

I Ioved the Bernie Mac show as a kid because i saw it through the eyes of the kids on the show and now as an adult with my own family I love it more because I can now see it from Bernie and Wanda’s point of view. It’s really a timeless show.

I loved watching the Bernie Mac show and always enjoyed watching him in movies, etc. He was such a funny guy. I've watched a little less than half of this video and see that I have to stop for a break. Hearing how he was treated made me angry. I was so sorry to hear that he had passed away at that time. I still miss not being able to see him. Rest in peace, superstar!

All this made me tear up. The only thing that made me stop for a second was the claim that Kings of Comedy supposedly made him famous.
Now, I´m german and I knew about Bernie Mac prior to Kings. He made me laugh before he was in Kings, Cedric and Bernie Mac btw were the ones that made me laugh the hardest and to be totally honest... it was Bernie Mac that almost made me pee myself.

Unlike the truth he had a rear disease called Sarcoid. It's a rear lung disease which affects the eyes, skin and lungs if goes untreated it can damage the organs. This disease affects African American culture more than others Bernie Mac was the lung portion which it causes the lymph nodes to become inflammated to being on Steroids. If you notice he gained weight in his face and stomach and a change in his voice. I know because I've been dealing with this for the past fifteen years on and off steroids on oxygen still to this day. Five years ago I lost my vision and my sister cared for me until the Lord restore my sight then it went into remission for three and a half years but came back during COVID-19. This time it's in the right lung but more aggressive now I'm undergoing chemo 600mg on top of a left eye transplant and yes my faith is what's keeping my hopes up. Bernie Mac started a non profit organization for people suffering this disease in Chicago. Bernie Mac struggle with this because he needed more rest under going through treatments. Sarcoid unlike cancer it has 5 stages cancer 4, just a few years ago Teshia Campbell Martin found out she has it that is why her face is swollen because of the steroids so yes his job helped his death because during a flare up we must allow our bodies to rest regardless of a job or not. Sleep well Bernie Mac you are truly missed.
Most people in the US are overworked and overwhelmed with problems and challenges. Notice how relieved many people are during Covid shutdown to have some time off or at least work from home.

I Ioved the Bernie Mac show as a kid because i saw it through the eyes of the kids on the show and now as an adult with my own family I love it more because I can now see it from Bernie and Wanda’s point of view. It’s really a timeless show.

I’m was a young white dude and I knew Mr. Mac way before Kings of Comedy. That ain’t what got him up, it just blew him up. Def Comedy Jam at midnight on the old BET was off the chain.
I'm from the chuck he is and always will be regarded as one of the great kings of comedy he was loved and still missed dearly.
