When people say lyrical miracle rap I think of rappers who use a lot of fancy words with usually a rapid fire flow or some sick cadence while not truly saying anything. Listening to Ransom and dude talking I think their pushing that definition to include rappers who are lyrical in the sense of spitting "random" punches, similes, entendres, and schemes with no specific target or cohesive message. I believe there is some validation to it. This type style of rap has become popular especially with YT rappers. Though we know Eminem is capable of doing way more than aimlessly spitting the dopest technical rap you've ever heard he hasn't reallyy give us much music with substance and introspection anymore. Nas just dropped what I think may be a classic features from both Eminem and Lauryn Hill. I was definitely more excited about L. Boogie's return and even though like everyone else I was excited that Nas and Em would finally collaborate on same track, I pretty much could predict how Em was going to rap, all technical little substance. On the other hand L. Boogie spit a verse that was super deep something you can feel you could just feel her maturity on the track.

I genuinely don’t even understand the whole “lyrical miracle” nonsense. Whenever I hear people talking about that I’m just like “oh you mean being able to rap?”
@@TwistedSisler then about 80% of rap isn’t rap bud. And about 98% of what’s out today isn’t rap. Also a big proponent of poetry is you guessed it, rhyming words lol
@@coreyrees840 And you would be correct. Most of what we call rap today isn't actually rap. Poetry isn't just about rhyming words. That's not even the main focus of it. Poetry is using rhythm and style as a means of relaying a story, ideas, or feelings about something. Just rhyming words together that don't have a deeper meaning is not poetry. Dr. Seuss even knew that much. Rap requires poetry for it to be rap. It's literally in it's name.
@@TwistedSisler then as I said the majority isn’t rap, majority of what any “rapper” has done isn’t rap then. Also people claiming Em just rhymes random words without meaning are people who aren’t actually paying attention. You know someone who does do that regularly and has never been called out for it? Wayne, weezy does it more than anyone but it’s Em who gets the flack for it when he rarely even does it lol it’s hilarious actually
An amazing rhyme structure and flow is more interesting to me than a metaphors and similes (what Stevie calls bars), but its less interesting than storytelling, for ME of course.
For me entendres palidromes and sure syntax foreshadowing schemes and even backwards rymthing which connects into palidromes or even other literary devices! is more important to me all of which eminem does lol and ofc multi syllables which is small set of skill set and flow switches and nice flows and sometimes speed can be impressive but is not a requirement.
You all are wrong. Lyrical Miracles : Are Rhyme Schemes that are not only a Complex Rhyme Scheme , but also a Bar (maybe contains a punchline or a double entender or metaphor ) , and at the same time a Simile or is a part of a descriptive narration of the current theme the rapper is addressing. You guys are simplifying it by saying its just a rhyme scheme but if that was the case , then it wouldnt be a Miracle .
Eminem is a lyrical miracle because to me lyrical miracle means someone that forces you to take in every word even subconsciously because you love the delivery of it, it sounded so pleasing to the ear and you loved it so much you have to learn all the words so you can sing along (hes also a lyrical genius but im not talkin about that here) Rap is skill that can be learned but the Talent Eminem has is his delivery... that is who he is, no one else is ever going to sound like Em and thats just the truth, thats what a lyrical miracle is to me, someone or maybe handful that come along in a generation and make an impact on the world.
Eminem said it himself He will talk abt smtg if he needs to But most of the times he just wants to have fun with it, not touching your soul doesn't take away from him
Eminem said in the KICKOFF freestyle, that when he walks into the room "their hearts stop, careers flop, I'm so fly when I walk,my ears pop!"... The moment Math Hoffa brought up Marshall the whole aura in the room changed!!!🤪 They mentioned him for two minutes and then QUICKLY changed the topic!!!!!!!🙄 Nobody..... NOBODY!!!! Wants that SMOKE!!!!😂
One thing I learned (about the talent and marketing yourself discussion) is there a fan base out there for everyone! 8 years ago all of us would have heard mumble rappers and laughed are ass off talking about how they ain’t making no money, same for those rappers that just say the same thing over and over again, we would have all been like “their not going anywhere” but look at thier fan base? They are making a ton of money and people want more..: like it’s any food? So you don’t really need to have the skill of marketing , it’s good to have but if you can just get yourself out there (social media is huge for it) you will eventually get a large enough fan base to support you (outside if youtube, there is a lot that goes into this platform …. Very rarely does someone make it on UA-cam that didn’t work hard to earn it)
In rap you can vibe and not really relate. Most of the time rap has many different audiences listening to the same thing understanding it totally differently, but vibing all the same.
Lyrical miracle, to me, is like a deepity. Something that sounds really deep and profound until you start thinking about it, then you realize that it real means nothing.
The funniest part is when he gave an example of lyrical miracle and cited exploding like a grenade when I pull out this pin...... The bar went over his head .
Basicallly what they saying is that lyrical miracle rap is rap that doesn’t have much content. But that a lot of times is exactly what battle rapping is, and just listening to random bars and punchlines. I love listening to just a dope beat and dope bars, they don’t always gotta be rapping about a subject.
*Also if that guy is saying Eminem is just a “lyrical miracle rapper”* 🤦🏽♂️ *Then what does he call the Eminem verses on Renegade, Mosh, 'Till I Collapse, Stan, When I’m Gone, Patiently Waiting, and Darkness.*
13:48 this and earlier 5:50 Lyrical Miracle is a jab. The Mumble is horizontal rap using the same phrase because it rhymes and as filler b/c they don't have lyrics or to lengthen the song. Lyrical might be vertical rap like an apartment building stacking a variety of words usually. Miracle functionally is vertical rap but with rhyming on the word-bends--stretching the syllable or hyping a syllable that is not the last syllable.-Ernie Moore Jr. It seems their take is "Lyrical Miracle" is extended-thinned-stretched mumble Rap.-Ernie Moore Jr. ... it seems like a put-down.-Ernie Moore Jr.
I think before all of these discussions take place, they should focus more on what "lyrical" actually means first lol some people seem to be super confused
I love how people are now saying that he's too miracle and yes he is guilty of saying a bunch of corny things or putting a bunch of words together just to rhyme but I thought that was the point of wrapping in the first place to rhyme only Eminem could have it used as a detriment
Ransom said em doesn’t rap about his life because there’s not much goin on in it, however , em proves that wrong with Stepping Stone, Premonition, No Regrets etc
This shit is crazy cuz I grew up in Saudi Arabia as a kid and I literally knew who Ransom was when I was a teenager. He had beef with Budden back then and I believe you could find a couple of them videos on Joe Budden TV on UA-cam. He wasn't as good a rapper but it's insane how he's relevant all of a sudden!
I think every rapper can sometimes be “lyrical, miracle” especially the skillful ones. And imo it’s much better to be a “lyrical miracle” rapper than just a rapper who relies on just beats and auto tunes just to make a music.
Is it though? At least beats and autotune sounds good to most people Why do Stan’s get so pissy about those two things? Some people like to chill and listen to shit
That’s it man. Listening to reactors break down Em songs literally shows that most of His stuff isn’t “lyrical miracle” type rap. It actually is connected and has meaning.
@@cr9477 I requested terminally ill for over a year from when the channel literally started and he finally just did it weeks ago on that hour stream to only cut it out smh
I agree with you Stevie. I always understood lyrical miracle rap to be someone putting big words together to sound cool but the words together don’t have much meaning. Ex: “I serenade a barricade with Gatorade that a player made.” People may be like “wow! You heard that multi-syllable rhyming!” But really they didn’t say anything meaningful. Eminem has done that once or twice (like on some of his freestyles) but the bulk of his work makes perfect sense when read together.
I think that’s what Math was saying, but he didn’t know how to express it that way lol. Btw rap is like writing. Writing is a skill one acquires through practice. But there are exceptionally talented writers that are above the pack. writers like Proust and Stephen King are (were) writers. But Proust clearly is the more talented writer.
@@mateonelson3862 I know lol but sometimes he definitely did it too. But it’s like rappers can’t be having every single song be pure content and some deep shit because what’s the point after a while.
11:07 Lyrical Miracle--saying words in a surprising way, saying something that's a surprising say. Disappointing the anticipation. Flipping the expectation, You don't necessarily get it or think it funny, but it left you with an affect that was actually stunning.-Ernie Moore Jr.
When he contradicts himself, I just want to say that we’re all full of contradictions. There are times when I hate hearing things that don’t say shit, and I say that’s why I don’t like it…BUT, other times I hear things that don’t say shit, but maybe they hit different or hit so many levels and I love it. So…we’re all full of contradictions.
Agreed...As Roots, Public Enemy (Russell Myrie) put out the words "don't rhyme for the sake of riddling" guys how aren't saying anything but just putting words together. I think Em did a lot of that because he was groundbreaking cadence, But King Los name shouldn't be mentioned at all by these dudes...
that was a tiny shot tho. BTW to me that whole album was Canibus at his best. If you don't count poet laureate infinity, Within the lyrical miracle realm, it don't get better than that
@@Stigmonus Yeah that's what most people would say but I disagree. Mic club is underrated. Again, all within the one dimensional lyrical miracle world, a truely great album would require more content to me. And Canibus very rarely does that
I think your definition of the words is best of the 3. I started listening to Eminem since guilt conscience that album is probably still my favorite of them all. I can see where he thinks Eminem is just flexing but what do you expect when he did it all? He said it plenty of times in his rap. In my opinion alot of people and rappers hate Eminem cause he gets more attention than they do even though his time has passed lol he set the bar so high these dudes know they will never out do him
the irony of people dissing lyrical miracle rappers is that it doesn't have to be a rapper that writes multi syllable rhymes, you can write basic as hell rhymes and not be sayin anything. tons of those out there, and i get the impression that some of these types use lyrical miracle as a diss but they themselves can't rap that good. honestly i would rather listen to a lyrical miracle rapper then a basic one if they're both saying nothing, but depends on mood ofc. even basic rappers can jam out with a good beat

They're literally imitiations of his style, lol.
That’s not fair. He didn’t really start that. Most of his best stuff wasn’t lines that rhymed every syllable. Big L Corleone was the master of it when he came out, with the Children of the Corn. Check is verse from 8 Iz Enuff

A lyrical miracle rapper is someone that is rhyming words just to be rhyming them, filler type shit...Em doesn't waste bars. This is only being brought up simply because Em has the ability to rhyme everything he's saying
That's not true. He's had a shitload of them during his relapse and post recovery era. His rhyming was mind boggling but his bars were awful.
@@sumukhbharadwaj6216 give me an example with the lyrics
@@michaelhaag8642 you really don't listen to him that much if you want me to direct you to his tracks which have awful songwriting. Add encore to the ones I mentioned. @@sumukhbharadwaj6216 I'm not talking about bad song writing, I know he has wrote some dumb songs...I'm asking for lyric examples where he is using filler to just rhyme
For me, after I heard him say Cannabis is extra terrestrial nice, he lost a whole lot of credibility to me....
What song is that?
god damn wish my hard drive didnt crash and I still had the A-Team mixtapes from early 2000's Hitchcock and Ransom were so sick
Fun Fact: Em doesnt give a fuck what ppl think of him, or label him lol
Clearly he does because he talks about it in every fucking song he does
That's why I'm Adams on living legend the iconic rapper he learned how to wrap since the 90s and 2000 and he's the most selling rapper of all time no one can touch Eminem in any category doesn't matter if it distracts rap battles please don't any category no one's beating Eminem in anything and this is why everyone in the rap game all local Legends have respect for him and they need his opinion and everything
First of all, I love Math but if Eminem is just mentioned for 2 seconds he puts it in the title. But my opinion is lyrical miracle is just one tool in Em’s tool box. He definitely can’t be defined as lyrical miracle only.
Definitely. I personally think he didn't use to be but nowadays he is. Mostly because he keeps challenging himself, not because he can't do storytelling or something else anymore.
Lyrical miracle is empty rhyming. No one can say Em rhymes empty bars.

I genuinely don’t even understand the whole “lyrical miracle” nonsense. Whenever I hear people talking about that I’m just like “oh you mean being able to rap?”
Rap stands for Rhythm and Poetry, not Rhythm and Words that rhyme. If there's no poetry, it's not rap, and if it's not rap, then it's not hip-hop.
@@coreyrees840 That we can definitely agree on. I do like Wayne, but you are correct.
To me, songs that touching your soul by Em like, castle&arose, stepping stone, leaving heaven, darkness.
Lyrical Miracles :
Are Rhyme Schemes that are not only a Complex
Rhyme Scheme , but also a Bar (maybe contains a punchline or a double entender or metaphor ) , and at the same time a Simile or is a part of a descriptive narration of the current theme the rapper is addressing.
You guys are simplifying it by saying its just a rhyme scheme but if that was the case , then it wouldnt be a Miracle .
Eminem is a lyrical miracle because to me lyrical miracle means someone that forces you to take in every word even subconsciously because you love the delivery of it, it sounded so pleasing to the ear and you loved it so much you have to learn all the words so you can sing along (hes also a lyrical genius but im not talkin about that here)
Rap is skill that can be learned but the Talent Eminem has is his delivery... that is who he is, no one else is ever going to sound like Em and thats just the truth, thats what a lyrical miracle is to me, someone or maybe handful that come along in a generation and make an impact on the world.
Lyrical miracle is not whatever you just said lmao
It’s a negative stereotype that you don’t want attributed to you
ALWAYS FIRE CONTENT 🔥
Knight's face when he started talking...lol
Eminem said it himself
He will talk abt smtg if he needs to
But most of the times he just wants to have fun with it, not touching your soul doesn't take away from him
Eminem said in the KICKOFF freestyle, that when he walks into the room "their hearts stop, careers flop, I'm so fly when I walk,my ears pop!"...
The moment Math Hoffa brought up Marshall the whole aura in the room changed!!!🤪
They mentioned him for two minutes and then QUICKLY changed the topic!!!!!!!🙄
Nobody.....
Very rarely does someone make it on UA-cam that didn’t work hard to earn it)
‘Mumble rapper’
Ok stan
In rap you can vibe and not really relate. Most of the time rap has many different audiences listening to the same thing understanding it totally differently, but vibing all the same.
Eminem is such a good react/convo
Yes He is. In every and each Atom of Presence. ✨
That's like kids in school making you feel bad because you are clever because you work hard.
“Lyrical Miracle spiritual individual criminal. Subliminal. In your swimming pool” lmao that’s why em dropped the mic after that lol
Cypher : [Eminem]
Ayo, lyrical miracle, spiritual individual, criminal Subliminal in your swimming pool..
That's what Em does...Stevie whispering 😂👊
Basicallly what they saying is that lyrical miracle rap is rap that doesn’t have much content. But that a lot of times is exactly what battle rapping is, and just listening to random bars and punchlines. I love listening to just a dope beat and dope bars, they don’t always gotta be rapping about a subject.
*Also if that guy is saying Eminem is just a “lyrical miracle rapper”* 🤦🏽♂️
*Then what does he call the Eminem verses on Renegade, Mosh, 'Till I Collapse, Stan, When I’m Gone, Patiently Waiting, and Darkness.*
Corny words??

Ransom acting like he’s not lyrical miracle himself too lol. I fuck with him haha

I think your definition of the words is best of the 3. I started listening to Eminem since guilt conscience that album is probably still my favorite of them all. I can see where he thinks Eminem is just flexing but what do you expect when he did it all? He said it plenty of times in his rap. In my opinion alot of people and rappers hate Eminem cause he gets more attention than they do even though his time has passed lol he set the bar so high these dudes know they will never out do him
Here’s my thing...when it comes to rap beef, the hope is that rappers would bring the strap lyrically and keep it on full auto.
I agree with Stevie’s definition of Lyrical Miracle.
Lyrical miracle rappers are never put last on songs…
Stevie knight is a goat 💪🏾✊🏾🥇
Lyrical miracle can be dope. SOME Eminem songs fall into that category. Mural by Lupe is kinda that. But it's dope af.
the irony of people dissing lyrical miracle rappers is that it doesn't have to be a rapper that writes multi syllable rhymes, you can write basic as hell rhymes and not be sayin anything. tons of those out there, and i get the impression that some of these types use lyrical miracle as a diss but they themselves can't rap that good. honestly i would rather listen to a lyrical miracle rapper then a basic one if they're both saying nothing, but depends on mood ofc. even basic rappers can jam out with a good beat
