- Crappie fishing during the month of April is my favorite time to get out there! The fish are shallow on brush so that they can spawn and are typically good sized fish! Hannah and I hit the lake mid-day and managed to catch some nice fish! We hope you like this video! Please make sure to Like, Comment, and Subscribe!
Great video man!
Thanks bud!
Great video!
Thank you sir!
Spawn was tough for me this year. On again off again. I caught exactly 0 fish up shallow. Did great deeper on brush. Funny spring
It was similar for me. Only found the fish on 3 brush piles and one dock this year. But they were absolutely stacked on those several areas all throughout the spring
Nice crappie fishing video! I hope you'll be doing more crappie videos this year.
Thank you! I hope to get out there again this year. It was a pretty tough crappie season for me last year. My normal spots had no fish. But I’ll get back out there soon!
@@CatchingLimits The spawn is happening earlier each year. It seems that by May they have moved off of the banks. I'll be hitting the shallows early this year in hopes of finding spawning crappie. I'll keep trying until I get on fish.
@@user-df2vx1ed4h absolutely. This video was filmed in March (can’t remember the time of month) but I was shocked. They were sitting tight to that brush in 3-4 feet of water. I’ll definitely be out there in the coming weeks searching for them working their way to prespawn!
I apologize, this video was filmed in April, not March. The other video where they were sitting in 3-4 fow was filmed in the 3rd week of March
Great video!
I just purchased a home on SML. Where about were you fishing? North or south of Bridgewater? In a cove?
Thanks man
Thanks! This is above the bridge close to Indian Point. Fishing coves on SML is about the only way to do it cuz of the crazy amount of traffic that area gets.
Nice haul!
Thank you!
Nice video. I enjoy watching your trout videos as well. Where do you launch your boat? I am having difficulty finding places to
launch my pontoon boat.
Thank you! I have a dock where we keep the boat. Prior to having a dock, we always launched out of the state park ramp near 122 bridge and we also would launch at the new Coast Guard ramp. Coast Guard is more user friendly, has 2 ramps with nice floating docks
All you have to do is find that one dock. One of ours Sunday was 15" 1-1/2lbs. I think we caught around 50.
For sure! These fish were on the brush but tucked as far under the dock as possible. Yeah that’s a good one! I caught two on this trip that were 14”. One was 1.4lbs and the other was 1.5. Yeah that’s crazy! My goal is just to catch 10-15😂
@@CatchingLimits I learned "dock shooting" Sunday. Had never seen that before. We found some way under a dock with the Livescope. Was glad I brought a short rod with me, the 10 footer is great for jigging but not for shooting so much.
@@tonylwright dock shooting is fun. But without electronics, it’s almost impossible to find the fish! I’ve caught some dock shooting but only very few. I need to get some 10 footers
nice vid and beautiful lake .. are there pikes?
Thank you! These are crappie. Despite their gross-sounding name, they are by far one of my favorite eating fish!
@@CatchingLimits yea i mean are there some pikes in this lake ? Sorry for my english xD
@@micvk oh I’m sorry. I misread your initial comment! Yes there are pike in this lake but I have not been fortunate enough to catch one. I’ve caught a couple in a lake in Appomattox, Va. That lake is full of pike!
