  • Trout fishing at Douthat State Park has been on fire lately. However, with recent heavy rains, the creek was high causing the fish to spread out over the entire creek instead of piling up in one hole. This usually makes for some awesome fishing when you find some that haven't been casted at yet. That is exactly what we did in today's video. Find the fish that hadn't been fished for yet and put the smack on em! In only an hour, we caught 7 and hung 5-6 more all on NRV Baits! The link to those lures can be found below if you would like to check them out yourself! Good luck y'all and tight lines!

Those sneaky holes on any creek are my favorites simply because the average angler doesn't know to even cast a line in them. Tight lines buddy 👍👍

Yes sir, absolutely! Most anglers won’t walk far enough from the stocking area to find these waters too! Thanks bud, you as well!

Thanks Mr. Kipps! It’s always great to get away from the pressures holes and see water that most people overlook! I also seem to find nicer/prettier water than right there next to the road. Thanks for watching!

You're giving away all my secret spots man. 😆 Me and Barry wore them out around the same timeframe fishing the same in between holes. Fortunately most people there are too lazy to do much walking. But you know you can catch fish in that creek from one end to the other after some good rainfall.

Hahaha sorry dude😂 I won’t tell anyone where they are tho. They’ll have to walk on their own to find em! Absolutely! One of my favorite times to trout fish up there for sure! Hopefully get down there the end of next week after all this rain comes through!

Haven't been spin fishing since the 1990's. Live in Vermont. What type of bait/lures do you recommend? TY

You should definitely get back into it! It definitely depends on the type of fish you’re targeting. For trout, I’d highly recommend NRV baits. The creek bugz are an all around incredible lure. If you want more of a challenge, Bigg fish lures hand tied jigs are awesome. They require a little more finesse and finding the right color pattern. But once you find that color pattern, it’s game on! Good luck and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

    Stop spot burning! 😡

No spot burning here. Just the location of a public stream that gets stocked so fishermen can enjoy the fish. You would have to walk a long distance to find the holes in this video. Thanks for watching!
