    @brimzeex4993 Рік тому +1

    I’ve nearly built my skill entirely from the ground up over the past two years and really the only advice I’ve taken on is the avoidance of bad habits.
    One piece of strong advice I have for newer sim racers is that you should always keep trying to learn new techniques or styles and adapt it into your own everyday racing. As sim racers we are advantaged in that we can try basically any type of driving within minutes of eachother and compare on a whim. I recommend doing this, try rallying, try gt, try f1, see how everything drives. But don’t forget to choose a discipline, many choose gt racing as it is the most vast in sim and the best simulated but there are all types and levels of sim racing disciplines. For me I chose F1 but I find that just sticking too it can get boring and I plateaued easily, when learning or choosing don’t forget to just go in and try other styles from time to time. I’ve adapted some rally and Gt racing styles into my f1 racing and it helped a lot with how I should react and prepare for corners and other events. Adapting other stuff into my driving helped me advance and not plateau in F1 again, although I’m still an amateur I’m much more comfortable being a better driver than just an f1 racer.
    In grand total just don’t stop learning, there is always new tricks and stuff that you can pick up from anywhere. It’s ok to be cocky, eventually that wears off, but don’t ignore advice from someone faster and don’t underestimate fellow sim racers. But most importantly have fun, take breaks, don’t just grind it all in on sim racing, take your time with getting better, it’s a long grueling process and even the best still follow that process of just trying to get better. It’s even harder for them so getting better is determined by thousandths of seconds. But just have fun, I regret taking it too seriously and for a while it sucked the fun out of it but now that I’m a better driver overall I’m a lot more comfortable just hanging back and learning to be better and still have fun. It’s not about winning it’s about enjoying it truly.
    Also why would I spend thousands on a rig when practicing caused me severe mental pain… I had to learn how to have fun sim racing

    I need to join a team and do some championships but I have a question. The problem I face now is with trail braking because I literally cannot feel my brake pedal (Thrustmaster T3PA and using conical brake mod). I want to add a very high resistance compression spring between the pedal and the brake mod to try and give me more of an idea of where the pedal is and also help me ease off in a better more rhythmic way. Do you think I should go ahead with this or just try practice without it. N.B. the range of motion that I cannot feel is about 25%

      @@racingreaperofficial I have the Thrustmaster T-LCM pedals and I actually had a harder time at first because of the additional force coming from the default plastic 2 pedals on the T300RS.
      I think what he's talking about with bad habits is actually your issue, you could be braking too late and trying to brake harder than you can. Sure, a little resistance can help you to apply the same pressure every time, but its just as possible with the cheapos if you pay close attention to the locking up.

    • @racingreaperofficial
      @racingreaperofficial Рік тому +1

      @@Greatest_Scottah I'm shocked to hear that it's actually trickier going to the load cell pedals. My issue isn't the amount of force when pressing the pedal, it's when I need to trail off. I cannot feel anything after I've released the pedal past the conical brake mod and that range of movement accounts for about 25% of detected braking pressure. My plan is once I get the spring in, I will adjust the gamma to detect the range of motion on the spring to be light braking and the range of motion on the brake mod to be heavy braking🤔hope it works though🤞🏼(playing in Assetto Corsa by the way). I really started to find it hard when I got up to Formula Cars. I was locking up at every corner. I did manage to start doing better but I know I can still improve more if I can just feel the pedal better when coming off the brake🤔

      @@SuellioAlmeida maybe, i give every game a "drift test" as i call it. if you can do a circle drifting indefinitely then the physics are usually close enough. project cars 1 fails the test, i think the second one seemed ok but they had the engine limiter problem so i never played. asseto corsa passes "sort of" depending on the car, but doesn't feel right so i never played.
      forza 7 nearly can't even drift because of the understeer so i never played. GTA sanandreas passes if your in the right car.
