not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch all of the new movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my brother for the last couple of days =)
Damn, I almost cried in the "Now cinderella dont you go to sleep.." part. You can really feel Brandon's pain if you know what the song is about. Definitely one of the best songs from one of the best bands ever.
I mean they don’t have a song I don’t love but this song is just ridiculous. The David letterman performance is my favorite with the orchestra and all the violins. He almost cries and one point. The only thing that ruins it is letterman’s stupid jokes and lack of respect so I always skip over him.
@@lyndaframe2088 It’s a song about his parents meeting as teens and their family over the years. The emotional impact is mainly driven by the last verse. I copy pasted the following from another source: “Brandon said in an interview that his mother, Jean Flowers, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer when he was putting the song together, before he recorded it in the studio. Knowing that her time was near, he wanted to learn as much about her life and all the knowledge his parents had to share, including the story of how they met. He then released A Dustland Fairytale with Day & Age in November 2008. When Brandon's mother had about 9 months left to live, he performed the song live with a full orchestra on David Letterman, a performance that is considered to be one of his most emotional. She lost her battle with cancer that February. Please remember the mother who raised him to be the wonderful man we know every time you hear this song.”
@@mcor1 thank you. I will look for a link to that performance. I appreciate you copying and pasting the info. I just feel closer to the USA knowing that Jean Yvonne Barlow was from a Scottish family and then met Brandon's dad💖. They did indeed produce a remarkable individual in Brandon. 🤩👍
Now Cinderella, don't you go to sleep. It's such a bitter form of refuge. Why don't you know the kingdom's under siege And everybody needs you. Is there still magic in the midnight sun, Or did you leave it back in '61?
This is his best❣️ Didn't care for the Springstein duet... Altho, loved him on Letterman... But,... THIS IS" IT"❣️ May your dear Mother rest until we have our reunion, when FATHER returns❤️🙏✝️
There was absolutely no need to share this song with the Boss. This song represents the highest form of the Killer's art. No one can cover it, let alone sing a duet to it.I lost my mom early on and each time I hear him singing about everybody needing his,I sigh and hold my chest.Much of popular music is very good prose such as that by newer groups like Dawes. This is poetry. It is beauty. It is life for good or for bad..Wonderful.DaVinci didn't ask Rembrandt to help with the Mona Lisa. This is the best rendition of this song that I have seen or heard.Thanks.
I agree and I love your thoughts on this - from one passionate artist (me) to another. This music changes lives and the whole world for the better 💖🎶💖🎶💖🎶💖🎶💖🎶💖🎶💖🎶
Totally agree with you danieljudge...this is genius writing from someone who's clearly felt the pain and impact of losing a loved one. No one can ever come close and beat this performance. Listening to the killers makes me feel so effing fantastic I'm a very young 60yr old and unfortunately never seen them live yet. Best band EVER
Esta cancion es acerca de sus padres que se conocen en el 61.Su padre era un alcholico hasta que brandon tenia 5 años. entonces "change came in disguise of revelation, set his soul on fire," habla de su padre que se volvio Mormon y dejo de beber. "His mom knew he'd come around." se refiere a que su mama sabía que él lo haría. "Now cynderella Don´t you go to sleep". Es Brandon pidiendole a su madre que luche contra un cancer que padece, aunque ella murio. Por eso canta canta con tal sentimiento
Absolutely Definitely My Favourite 🤩 Killers song 🎶 it really makes the Butterflies 🦋 Flutter & makes my Heart ❤️ like a Squishy Marshmallow 🍡lots of Love ❤️ XxxTracyXxx ❤️
Te puedes saber toda la letra de sus canciones, pero cuando te detienes a escucharla y prestarle toda tu atención, hay algo hermoso que sientes, algo que dentro de ti se conmueve por completo. Larga vida a The Killers
Saw them last saturday, the hole band was really passionate since the last time they played here was four years ago. When this song started the hole stadium lit their flashlights and Brandon just cried, took three minutes for him to continue singing. Even though i wasn't that close, the live performance of this song is always incredible.
@@wendystevens8428 It was at Allianz Park, São Paulo, Brazil. It was a event for the Grand Prix, some national bands played and then Twenty One Pilots opened for them
I love this band they're absolutely brilliant. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. I also love the doors and so many other groups that were around in the 60s . There still are so many other incredible bands and the killers are definitely one of them 😊
Saw this tour .. not at Royal hall clearly lol.. but in Seattle .. seeing them again for the 7th time .. and the 6th at the same Seattle Venue they’ve played in since Sam’s Town/Sawdust .. to see the mirage / Pressure tour ! 2 new albums we haven’t seen live thanks to the apocalypse.. unless u were lucky enough to catch a Vegas show before the world stopped

This is one of those songs where the live version blows away the studio version
Facts.
Totally agree - it has one thing the studio version doesn't have.... a loving audience.

@@MonaRoo88 Completely agree! Letterman was so tone deaf and disrespectful. He probably didn’t even listen to the song or notice the raw emotion.
Please say more about this song. I know nothing here in Scotland 🎶💖

"Is there still magic in that midnight sun? Or did you leave It back in sixty one"
Hits me every time
