So sad how this is such a rare experience in 2021. In that Blockbuster doc on Netflix Kevin Smith said something like "it's a shittier world now" with video stores no longer being a part of our culture. It's so true. Love your enthusiasm, Shawn. Physical media forever!
Sir, such vast disc shops are becoming the things of the past. In Mysore city, Karnataka, India.we don't have one disc shop like this, I am searching 4k/blue ray disc,of the movie Mackenna's gold, to enjoy the greatness of grand canyon, any help ?
Not gonna lie, I got choked up with nostalgia overload watching this and it was only 7 min into the video. The Disney clamshell VHS boxes did it for me. Thank you for filming this. Its earned its place in my Favorites folder!
Such a rare and wonderful store. It really looks frozen in time, like they stocked absolutely everything until the late 90s and then just stopped and never sold anything. I wonder what their secret is to stay alive.
What an amazing and awesome video store i can't believe im saying that these days but going there would be like going back in time as there were so many videos as well how i miss those days i rather visit that store then Disneyland if i could take a trip but what memories by watching this video thank you so much for sharing takecare
Wow! That video store is truly incredible. I'm totally blown away by how many rare titles there are and by how many animation and horror movies are there on VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray. :)
Hey duder! Just re discovered your channel again and I just saw this video! This is my hometown Taylor, Texas! I grew up with the Video Station and my childhood home is right down the street! I remember spending hours in there as a kid and even as a teen looking up and down all the aisles and at all the crazy things for sell. At one point they had a slot machine and a home sauna for sale (which I'm pretty sure I saw in this video lol). I spent so much time in the horror section as a kid terrified and I made it a goal to find every horror movie that I remember seeing there and watch it as an adult. Now, over 20 years later, being a horror movie enthusiast (especially from the 70s and 80s) I still recall movies such as Gormet Zombie Chef from Hell which they had a big box VHS version of. I havent been back in there in some years but it looks almost exactly as I remember it. Such a nice family that owns it as well (even if they charge hoarder prices lol). I'm glad to see its still open and I'm glad you got to see it! If anyone could appreciate it, its you! Thanks for making this video! Took me for a trip down memory lane. Definitely making a trip back soon.
Simply a phenomenal place. If you're ever in the Detroit area, there's a store called Video Exclusive in Dearborn you should visit. 20,000+ movies (some are 18+), the assistant manager CJ is cool, looks like a Blockbuster, and a nice horror section. I highly recommend it.
What a great movie store, it seems to have a lot of things from Hollywood video rental places. Between the signage and all the VHS is specially the squeeze VHS cover😍
I love these types of vids, my absolute favorite when u upload these discussing rare uncommon obscure movies and going through them 1 by one. I appreciate the upload! 🙌✨💯
I wish that I could visit the store, but I live all the way in Ohio. In my hometown, there was a mom and pop video store, and me and my family used to go there together all the time! I was born in 1990, and I really love and miss movie and video stores! It is extremely sad and upsetting that streaming movies has taken place of actually going into a physical store and actually purchasing the movie or movies that you want! Finally, rest in peace movie and video stores, especially mom and pop stores and Family Video!
@@glyn420 In terms of quality, I definitely agree. I have a ton of blurays, Dvds and 4ks myself. I also still kept all my VHS tapes. I would like to be able to play those again. The vcr I had unfortunately became defunct so I'm not sure where to buy a good vcr player.
I should definitely go to Video Station in Maryland to look for something that is out of print from circa 2004 - Secret Central: Have You Heard? (DVD) - Paramount Home Video/Hasbro
See the Metal shelving they are all on, They are made by a Company called RED. They are long gone, so just the shelves alone are worth a Fortune. Brilliant could spend what's let of my life In there, Heaven. Thanks for sharing.
Just went to maps and inserted that address of this place and that place is huuge inside going by the pics. Definitely could be my happy place if I lived near there lol.
The owner of the shop asked everyone that came in if they saw your video. I told him I saw a TikTok from earlier this week. Cool place, but I wish I could’ve bought some on the rare vhs tape.
Such a cool store! I love 80s horror, especially 80s slashers. You should do a video on some of your favorite 80s slashers. Do you sell any of your movies?
I went here this morning and I was amazed by the amount of vhs and dvds in the store, but I was disappointed went the owner said most items are for rent only. Not a lot you can buy.
I once had a sealed copy of "Home Alone 2" on VHS, for about a few hours. Until I got back home, and my little sister decided to open it. I was really mad at her.
I love that old school pre everyone has online access marketing! "Save up to $100 on AA". Im sure when you presented that to AA when you bought your ticket, they were like, "you get a free bad of stale nuts".

This brings back such good memories of renting in the video stores! What a cool place
I find horror movies more appealing to watch on vhs tape. The janky defects and lines adds to the quality IMHO.
I still got all of my VHS tapes
