    Interesting review and very useful. Katarin and I have used one recently and to be honest we found there were condensation problems big time with the two of us inside, that apart from all the things you said too. We are neither of us short (I am 6' 1'' and Katarin 5' 11''') so you can imagine the space available, especially when we had to laden Bergens too - lol good job we are very good friends. Only glad we had not bought it and only had it issued for 3 nights. Take care, stay well and stay safe and the very best of all seasonal greetings. Helen with Kat and Terri with Robyn.

      Thanks for that Helen. Its well made but I just don't like the design. I think I would have had more usable space in my Backwoods bungalow. Merry Christmas to you all. x

    I've just realised, after spending way too long looking at both tents, that I'm pretty certain this is basically a green Berghaus Brecon 2 with a slightly different inner tent (the bunker has no porch and is instead a '3 person' tent (it's not, it was a squeeze with me and my 6 and 9 year old). The drawings of both tents show very similar dimensions, 5cm bigger here, 5cm smaller there, enough to be within tolerance the same, and the Brecon has the same 2 doors despite specs online saying it only has the one (I found pics of a Brecon with both doors open).
    I had a Bunker for a couple of years and it was extremely stable, but sold it because it was a tad short for me (but perfectly livable).
    I've just bought a Brecon 2, and I'll eat my hat if it's not basically the same tent for less than half the price.

    A very clear and concise clip. 😊
    Whilst I like Snugpak as brand, I certainly wouldn't entertain the idea of owning one of these tents.

    Honest review, punchy and to the point. That opening does seem a tad small. I've got to say I do like your choice of boots in your last couple of vids. Keep up the work JB.

    Good review Jim-Bob; the way I use my tents including this one is after you empty your 50 or 70 liter ruck you place the ruck under your head with an inflatable pillow on top.

    Great review. I always take what manufacturers say with a pinch of salt. I have the Vango Banshee 300 (three person) for two people plus gear. My Banshee 2 person for solo camps.
    My wife would say unless it has two bedrooms and you can stand in it, it's to small😂.
    But that's another story

    Thanks for posting. Not much use for small tents anymore(too old to crawl in and out of easily/conveniently). But am always curious about how/why they design the newer ones and IF they would be something to even consider. This appears to make my "not for me" list also. I often wonder where they get their "size" classification because I haven't found many tents that aren't 1/2 the size of what the manufacturers like to "classify" their tents as over the last couple of decades.

    • @frogmaster83
      @frogmaster83  8 місяців тому

    Excellent review, balanced and well presented, thank you. Separate from this, I do feel Snugpak have sat on their laurels of late, and several items they market, some of which I have, need updating, all the more so at Snugpaks pricing levels?

      I will be honest here and say that in my own opinion "Slugpak" have always tried to emulate army kit and always missed the mark. Over priced for what they offer. My LGM had 2 full size cots in it and the only issue was the floor could have been tougher. We sat on the cots and ate while we drank coffee but then again what would you expect for £35.00. Maybe we will add a footprint. :)

    I've never understood all the hype about Snugpak gear... I'm not a fan personally, especially with all the "ambassadors" bigging it up all the time. That entrance is terrible IMO for such a large tent. And deffo not a 3 man...🤷🏼‍♂️
