Ringo didn't do too many but some of them became huge hits. This one, and of course Yellow Submarine was so popular, all the kids were singing it on the playground at recess in grade school. Even today some kids still know it. Also there is an early Beatles Ringo song that is a cover called Boys, and he absolutely just kills it while playing the drums. It was part of their repertoire when they played in Hamburg before they got huge, and all of that material is just so damn tight by the time it shows up on the early Beatles recordings a couple years later.
Saw Ringo and his All-Starr Band last year. Great show. We all loved it and the 20-something ushers and beer vendors were bopping along to the music. He closes each show with this song and the chorus of Lennon's Give Peace a Chance. ✌️
I hope this context is helpful: Ringo, the drummer sings this. Ringo did the least singing and songwriting of The Beatles, and had a limited vocal range. So Paul McCartney wrote this simple but beautiful melody for him in his narrow vocal range. With the band contributing vocals and lyrics, the wink to fans is that Ringo is indeed getting by with a little help from his friends. The optimism, friendliness, and Paul's bouncing, walking Bass, make this my favorite of their songs. Thanks and best wishes!
Its a great song, and that elegant simplicity is one of the things that The Beatles did so well, as well as some play around within those forms. Enjoyed your review! My favorite Beatles song is probably Let it Be, with Yesterday and help pretty close up there. Their full song catalogue is quite a diverse and creative group, reflecting the creative whirlwind and tension within the band (which eventually tore it apart)
Beatles vocal harmonies are typically complex and beautiful. Paul's bass (as on many songs !) is lyrically and rhythmically inescapable. Such a simple tune, but somehow lovely and profound.
Ringo the drummer is singing this. Paul and John coaxed him to sing the last note loud and long...coming from a guy with a limited vocal range, it was magnificent. Their song Penny Lane has the same vibe and tempo and beat. This was from their famous Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album, what they now call the "First concept album." They sort of portrayed themselves as a different band than the Beatles on purpose for an album theme.
What a great observation about the harmonics of the chords informing the melody, and so forth. And I've heard this since we sang it on the playground in third grade when it was so popular, but as a musician, I was also this time around noticing how in the chorus, Ringo's phrasing leads the downbeat, so that each primary emphasis word near the beginning of each phrase hits, and then the rest of the sound answers with a feeling of resolution on the downbeat and then it just does it over and over again. I love it❤
One of The Beatles many elite classics! So cool! I beg you to watch Joe Cocker's cover at Woodstock 1969. It is the greatest cover song of all time. Appreciate you sharing as always! So fun!
I was replaying 'I Feel Fine' over and over again for a while, I loved the feedback intro at the beginning and the guitar picking! As well as the Beatles there were The Rutles and The Rattles with 'I Must be in Love' for the former and 'The Witch' for the latter. Also check out 'Storm in a Teacup' from The Fortunes.
Being a teenager when Sgt Pepper came out we were all getting high with a little help from our friends and The Beatles were the coolest among many cool bands!!
Check out their song Hey Bulldog with Lennon taking the lead, and it's heavily piano-driven . It's just an incredible song, but it has serious content that's emotional as well. But then you've got band members at some point late in the song just going nuts and acting silly and making vocal characterizations of bulldogs, laugh. It's so fun, even though it's a serious song. 😂
Joe Cocker covered "With a Little Help From My Friends" and transformed the song from a pleasant ditty into a soul-wrenching confession. You can see it live at Woodstock - it's amazing. One of the ways to distinguish your music channel is to focus on cover versions. You could listen to the original and the cover in one video or make a pair of videos. There are some amazing cover songs out there, including Beatles songs. Once you've heard the crazy "Tomorrow Never Knows" from the Beatles album Revolver, check out the soulful stripped-down cover version from Daniela Andrade here on UA-cam - stuff like that!
Paul and john had to flank Ringo and really encourage him to sing this song. He felt he couldnt do it and the high note at the end was pulled off with john and Paul embracing Ringo! ❤😅
A Lennon/McCartney song written for Ringo to sing lead. These guys recorded over 200 songs in less than 9 years time - simply amazing when you follow their evolution. Joe Cocker covered it and put his special sound on it, like everything he sang. I think you should hear the Abbey Road Side Two Medley, straight thru, no stop as they segue and transition perfectly, and are as follows: YOU NEVER GIVE ME YOUR MONEY; SUN KING; MEAN MR. MUSTARD; POLYTHENE PAM; SHE CAME IN THROUGH THE BATHROOM WINDOW; GOLDEN SLUMBERS; CARRY THAT WEIGHT; THE END and (wait for it)... HER MAJESTY (it's a hidden track on the vinyl LP), for over 16 minutes in length.
From their 8th and epochal album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. They decided to stop touring because it had become problematic, this album was a result. Perhaps you can look at the album cover and find out the story behind it. A critic said something to the effect that it marked a time when popular music became music to be listened too. Stalwart Ringo Starr had worked for other bands before being asked to join the group, he was the oldest and the last to join. Nice Reaction and Good Luck. :)
George Martin (The Beatles' Producer) did an album in '98 'In My Life' featuring different stars doing their songs. Sean Connery performed the title one!
Hello Emma THREE THINGS you should do: 1 Download and listen to the song collection shown (LP ST Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band) immediately, because it contains the best, most famous and well-known Beatles songs, 2 Look at the CELEBRITIES on the LP and find out who they all are, 3 ABSOLUTELY download and watch the cartoon "YELLOW SUBMARINE".
it started like that because the first song is connected to the second (which this song is the second song on the album) & third song like a continuous piece/song...sgt pepper is crazy like that....the sgt pepper album should prob only be listened to straight thru for the full effect...great reaction tho, emma:)
Not many people realize that Ringo is left handed but plays a right-handed setup. This causes subtle differences in his playing. For one, he said he couldn't play a smooth drum roll across many drums, and that is why, in fact, he plays in the idiosyncratic style on the magnus opus of this album, and of their entire catalog: A DAY IN THE LIFE.
It's hard being single. My friends are so cool. They're all I really need, they love me.😊 I'm 59 years old now, and long since divorced. I enjoy living by myself. As long as I have great friends and family, i don't need anything else 👍
Joe Cocker's cover of this stole it from the Beatles. Even they said. "Joe it's your song now!" Hearing the original is good but theirs is light hearted, Joe does it soulfully.
Emma, great reaction. I'd like to suggest that you look into Al Kooper, an artist that few, if any have reacted to. He was a founder of Blood Sweat & Tears, and their song I suggest is "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know." It's a long song title but well worth the listen. You might be the first to react to this tune from 1968.
Hi Emma, For another Ringo song by The Beatles, check out Good Night from The Beatles double white album. Very simple lyrics. I tend to love the earlier Beatles songs more. Songs like Hard Days Night, The Night Before, We Can Work it Out, Day Tripper, Twist and Shout.
Ringo is singing the lead vocal here. He always got at least one track on the albums but he has a limited range which is why the melody is fairly simple. I love his voice though limited range or not.
Not live, but they were trying to recreate the feel of a live concert by this fictitious group, "Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band" (which of course was the Beatles). A not-so-hidden statement that they were breaking free from the suffocating world of the previous 5 years.
Bill Ward the drummer from Black Sabbath sang a song called It's Alright you should check out. I know Black Sabbath sounds scary but I promise it's a nice song.
It would have been more effective to hear the album's lead in, and theme song, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", which segues into this one. They are inter-connected, and make more sense that way.
There are so many brilliant Beatles songs. Here are a few of my favourites: Eleanor Rigby In My Life A Day in the Life I Am The Walrus Penny Lane Strawberry Fields Forever Girl Michelle
It shouldn't be the first nor the last one you hear from the Sargen Peppers. But the song is legendary because of the famous change of chords in the last two seconds. Oasis used again in "She's Electric". Great show.
Your favourite Beatles song is the last one you heard
Unless it's their cover of "House of the Rising Sun", don't listen to that one
Wow best way to describe how I feel too!
I am the walrus, Goo goo g' joob.
@@BaccarWozatlol a cover
Always at the forefront of music in the sixties. A rare vocal from Ringo. Super talented group.
Ringo didn't do too many but some of them became huge hits. This one, and of course Yellow Submarine was so popular, all the kids were singing it on the playground at recess in grade school. Even today some kids still know it.

It was part of their repertoire when they played in Hamburg before they got huge, and all of that material is just so damn tight by the time it shows up on the early Beatles recordings a couple years later.
I also really really like his song, And Your Bird Can Sing, if I am remembering correctly.
"Here Comes the Sun" is my favorite song from my favorite album, sang by my favorite Beatle and written by my favorite Beatle from my favorite band.
Love the bass all the way through the song.
Yes, great tone and phrasing. Very creative.
A classic with ringo on vocals
Paul's bass lines on this song are so uniquely cool. He never gets the credit he deserves as a bass player.
Uh yeah, he does.
Oh, Emma, this is the greatest rock band of all time. No one close. Every single album is kick-ass.
in a worldwide poll Queen were voted the best band in history !
Saw Ringo and his All-Starr Band last year. Great show. We all loved it and the 20-something ushers and beer vendors were bopping along to the music. He closes each show with this song and the chorus of Lennon's Give Peace a Chance. ✌️
Can you imagine having John and Paul write a song for you then sing backing vocals for you.

Great melody , middle section, and harmonies unmatchable
Top selling musicians of all time.
Ringo Starr drummer of the Beatles is the lead vocalist here… Fun reaction great review

Perfect song for Ringo, he absolutely nails it. Shout out for Paul's bass playing - totally elevates it.
A sweet song, in the best way.
Beatles vocal harmonies are typically complex and beautiful. Paul's bass (as on many songs !) is lyrically and rhythmically inescapable. Such a simple tune, but somehow lovely and profound.
Ahh ... sweet memories of the summer of 1967!
Ringo the drummer is singing this.
Paul and John coaxed him to sing the last note loud and long...coming from a guy with a limited vocal range, it was magnificent. Their song Penny Lane has the same vibe and tempo and beat. This was from their famous Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album, what they now call the "First concept album." Nice reaction where would any of us be without our friends?
“Dear Prudence” is a favorite.
More Beatles
Great job on your reaction.
Ringo as lead singer
Glad you like it so much. One of the best from Sgt.Pepper album.
The song "Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band" segues into this song, I wish reactors would do both in one reaction
The Beatles - And Your Bird Can Sing
I Love this very much 🥺 Anything by the Beatles, I will like to see your reaction ☀
Added! 😉😉😉✨🎶🎶🎶

Sgt. Pepper album was voted #1 by the Rolling Stone readers. Emma!!! Always looking beautiful. ❤️😍😘💗💘
One of The Beatles many elite classics! So cool! I beg you to watch Joe Cocker's cover at Woodstock 1969. It is the greatest cover song of all time. Appreciate you sharing as always! So fun!
Every time I listen to this album I get transported.

For vocal harmonies you need to hear "Because".
Being a teenager when Sgt Pepper came out we were all getting high with a little help from our friends and The Beatles were the coolest among many cool bands!!
Maybe you can try with "Because". The vocal arrangement is incredible
my fav too
Favourite song by the Beatles is "For no one", sung by Paul McCartney.
LOVE THE BEATLES!!!!
For your next Beatles song, you should listen to ........all of their music. You'll thank me for the recommendation.
thank you emma so goood i love this band suggestion elo telephone line

BEATLES!!!!🌟🌟🌟🌟
Love the song-I'm sure it is older then you---You have a delightful accent------Me too----- Emma
Listen to how well this is engineered.
My favourite group, I am a huge fan, as of this comment, I am going to see Paul McCartney in December live
beatles :the greatest song writers of the 20th century

Good bass playing.
The Beatles started the British invasion in America in the 60's. Two of my favorites is Golden Slumbers and Long and winding road. 👀👀
Joe Cocker owns this song now. Listen to the live performance from the Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour.
The magic of the Beatles is that no two songs sounded alike. They were like no band ever.
Ringo is so cool
Ringo on Lead! Awesome

Starr needed to know no other friends for help as he had three other cerebral-Stars around to soften his sound ~
The BEST band and the prettiest woman, together! Great!!❤
Great reaction ❤ I lobe Beatles music, so good. Favourite is hard to pick, try ‘Dear Prudence’ of the White album, absolute classic
Here comes the sun is the best
Across the Universe.

Some bawdy stuff in this Richard Starkey classic, upon research.
It's hard being single.
My friends are so cool.
They're all I really need, they love me.😊
I'm 59 years old now, and long since divorced.
I enjoy living by myself.
As long as I have great friends and family, i don't need anything else 👍
it wasn't live. it was a studio recording the second song on srgt. pepper's lonely hearts club band in 1967.
Beatles songs you might oughtta take a listen:
Hide your Love Away
A Day in the Life
Elanor Rigby
In My Life
Across the Universe
Here Comes the Sun
Beatles rooftop is fantastic . Brasil, um abraço
Joe Cocker's cover of this stole it from the Beatles.

Moin Moin Folks from Bremen Germany.
"Servus" back to you and all over the world from Bayreuth (Bavaria), Germany ✌
Only two Beatles covers have made the grade for me - Joe Cocker and Elton John. The right version of Joe covering this song is amazing!
Emma please react to Paul McCartney/Beatles. The most versatile voice in rock. The man of a thousand voices.
Ringo is singing the lead vocal here. He always got at least one track on the albums but he has a limited range which is why the melody is fairly simple. I love his voice though limited range or not.
Yer Blues next.
I've always loved this song. I also love the version by Joe Cocker. You should check that one out if you haven't heard that version.

Chek out their songs Rain and Paperback Writer
In your "former life" you reacted to Joe Cockers version of this song- remember?
Nice song..
I also really like Joe Cocker's version
Bill Ward the drummer from Black Sabbath sang a song called It's Alright you should check out. I know Black Sabbath sounds scary but I promise it's a nice song.

nice but you should listen to the whole album in one go, its a 'concept album'
This is a sweet song. I have not listened to it in an awhile. Thanks for the throwback. XO
There are so many brilliant Beatles songs.
Here are a few of my favourites:
Eleanor Rigby
In My Life
A Day in the Life
I Am The Walrus
Penny Lane
Strawberry Fields Forever
Girl
Michelle
Try Beatles song.......Got to get you into my life
You should also check Joe Cicker's version.
🏆🏆🏆🏆!
It shouldn't be the first nor the last one you hear from the Sargen Peppers. But the song is legendary because of the famous change of chords in the last two seconds. Oasis used again in "She's Electric". Great show.
I got a hole in me pocket
No reactor, ever, catches on to the rude lines: 'What do you see when you turn out the light, I can't tell you but I know it's mine!'
Jajaja exactly
Great Song!
Now you must try the Joe Cocker version. In my opinion it is one of those rare occasions when the cover version is much better than the original.
Great RINGO!!!!
Ringo the drummer sings this lead ....
Try listening to the Joe Cocker version, live from Woodstock.
Must listen to Joe Cockers. Beatles even said it is the iconic version.
Please react to Colter Wall. "The Devil wears a suit and tie." The brewery sessions.
