Benefictus: Are you pondering what I'm pondering? Clamavus: I think so B, but how am I going to get Judas Priest to blend with a disco groove properly so we can have a global dance party? Benefictus: *facepalm*
"Why would GW make yet another version of something we already have?!" ... my dear Mr. Vampire, I hope you are never introduced to those thingies called "Space Marines", or your dead heart will stop a second time. XD
I support that biggining logic 100% I am a chaos sister player (i have seen the light and you should too) and The Dark Commune is fantastic for me In that one box I get 1 Imagifier 1 Dialogus 1 missionary and 2 crusaders
I gotta say that It is refreshing to see a content creator giving ideas to players for kitbashing characters, Now don't get me wrong, I love Warhammer and have been giving chunks of my paycheck to GW since 3rd Ed of 40k.. However, there are some miniatures that I simply will not buy. Case and point is any of the myriad of Lieutenant miniatures from the Space Marine line, or the Palatine from the SoB. Kitbash away my friends, if you've been in the hobby for even a short amount of time, you will quickly come to realize just how many spare helmets, weapons, guns, legs etc that you will accumulate over time. Great job Christian Von Carmian. Keep the content coming!
@@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber I agree. Not to mention that if players are really just hell bent on using the official GW minis, You can pick up the combat patrol Seraphim online for very cheap. Unfortunately I was somewhat unenthused by this release. Seems like GW really missed a great opportunity with the detachments, especially seeing that they were essentially "pre-written" if they just used the different orders. Bloody Rose - Repentia, Zephrym, Celestian. Ebon Shroud - Dominions, Palatines, Rhino's. Alas.. My rhino rush army will have to wait and see
I am one of those who has two copies of the old combat patrol because of you, so thank you! My wife collects Sisters, and kitbashing that new Canoness seems pretty simple, so thanks for that too!
Rather than using Novitiates to kitbash characters, I recommend using Novitiate arm pieces on Battle Sisters to make the characters. That way you can use the Novitiates as intended, and the leftover Battle Sisters can serve as weapon options for your other squads. It would be pretty easy to kitbash a jump Canoness, but I'll probably end up buying it just because it comes with that precious hand flamer.
I'm using Sanguinary Guard wings to make my cannoness look a bit more unqiue instead of just using regular zephyrim wings. Plus the Sanguinary Guard come with plenty of weapons and bodies for other kitbash projects.
The sacrosanct kit has 12 weapons. 5 halberds, 5 maces, 1 spear and 1 holy mace! One of the advantages of the SoB is that most of theit kits come with TONS of extra bits, so you can easily customise your regular minis with whatever you want. Data cards say "power weapon", not power sword. Time to give all possible sisters massive power halberds.
Legit, I have two Magus and to convert them, I'll be using zoanthrope head brains, upside down and smoothed onto her head, add in the odd metamorph head.. win win.
the Delaque Nacht-Ghul, Psy-Gheists and Piscean Spektor kit gives you 2 of those squiddy brain bits too, so you don't even need to not build that if you get the box, or if you know someone who plays Delaque and haven't married them already so you own 50% of their models by default you could ask if they've got the spare kicking about on sprue still. It's a good box for giving you a couple of Locus or Sanctus stabby guys too, and there's little snakes that could be nice GSC familiars. They'll do pretty good with the rest of the GSC characters I'm converting from the other Delaque gang box I have.
Warhammer 40k is quite expensive in my country. So i get my pencil & pen & starts to draw my own warhammer 40k battle sisters squad. I have completed a canoness, a sharpshooter, heavy storm bolter gunner, rear guard security personnel & a Palatine comms officer/pathfinder. Rn I'm drawing a penitent engine.
My friend group strongly believes in proxies and kitbashing. This hobby is too expensive and kitbashing / 3d printing models, can create great stories about unique characters that you made custom for yourself. I recommend everyone kitbash and proxy.
I have the monopose Combat Patrol box unopened yet and I think I'll turn the Repentia Superior into a Palantine and the monopose Canoness into a Dialogus. I already kitbashed a regular Canoness into the monopose loadout (back before they put the monopose models in the CP), and the monopose Repentia are just going to become redundant if you can't field units of 4+1 Superior. Most of the independent characters in a sisters army(*) can be kitbashed with a bit of effort, though the Imagifer and Hospitaller are sweet, sweet models. Oh and Preacher/Missionary models are super easy to kitbash from any number of Necromunda kits, I used Delaque gangers. (*) and Space Marines - don't buy Lieutenant models, like ever.
What would you do with the extra Seraphim bodies if you use one for the jump canoness? 4 Seraphim do not a squad make. Edit: and having got to the part where you use a canoness, I suppose it's just a case of finding a spare model.
Question Re blu-tack... How to "harden" it. I have a terrible time with green stuff, so tips for blu-tack would be great. Does paint + varnish do a good enough job? X
I think the jump cannoness is a fine model, and I don’t have an exorcist yet. The problem is I have one zeph and one seraph unit already and… do I need three more? I’m def not buying this kit solo Would be nice to put one of my extra jump packs to a good use though, and I DO have an extra sacresant halberd lying around so… hmm…
Considering the giant brain-man is ANOTHER FREAKING CHARACTER for GSC (how many of these damn things do they have now?!), Im just gonna make one myself if I ever feel like using him... Which, in truth, I probably wont, so.
14 unique characters, one being the Epic Hero Patriarch Abominant Acolyte Iconward Biophagus Clamavus Jackal Alphus Kelermorph Locus Magus Nexos Primos Reductus Saboteur Sanctus and obviously, the new model because GSC is allergic to getting anything that isn't a character because then the Brood Brothers trait might not see play and thus Imperial Guard model sales tank /sar
I am disappointed in the Canoness flying model. It is really plain looking. I am going to get my hands on the old metal St Celestine model to use as my canoness with jump pack.
Buuuuuut would it be ITC legal? Or GW tournament legal? Idk?? I have many kitbashes that I use in place of cannoness' and space marine captains etc.. however, I also have the GW official with me just incase I get an ars**ole opponent or judge. EDIT: in the release video the hosts actually state that the gene-stealer codex includes tips on how to kitbash imperial guard into the army.. so I'd go ahead and say that any cannoness kit bash would be perfectly legal so long as it's all GW plastic...happy days 😊
The new Cannoness is so lazy from GW, especially when they're capable of creating such cool looking models. Sisters already have some of the coolest character models, and then there's this, a glorified Seraphim Superior. It could've had some unique heads, helmets, or even a special jump pack to set it apart. I don't know if I can justify buying the new Battleforce for that, even if the extra jump gals might come in handy. So instead I just grabbed a 3rd party model that is so much cooler and I'll kitbash it a little. Not to mention a fraction of the price with just as much if not more detail.
4:07 GLOVED HAND REVEAL OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Gotta protect from the harsh hobby lighting!
I was never sure what levels of artificial light a vampire could tolerate but… no use taking chances!
would
I like the 2 day radio silence after such a... reveal GW prepared for us only to drop a kitbashing advice video. Subtle ;)

22 monies for one model or 28 monies for 5 similar models is why kitbashing makes the most sense

ah yes, the smaller version of the Neurotyrant, good choice!

it is a fun and weird box. It really suits GSC
Kitbashing is what drew me to the GSC i think. My GSC and guard projects keep fighting over models though 😅
I made my own flying canoness. I used the canoness from the old combat patrol with the old space marine jump pack

Just got 3 jump pack canoness minis... Left over Sacrosanct bits and a seraphim box... Painfully easy

def kitbashing these with my extra sister superiors and jump packs.
ill probably buy 1 kit but make three options with bashing.

Use the magos model you already have or use the GW original. Canones or an identicaly armed 4egular jump pack sister....

I used a Rouge Psyker, glued a reapers mini mind eater to it, green stuff, looks way cooler than the gw one, and cost me 20$
Yeah it is surprising that most of us have both sisters and GSC.... hmmm is there a correlation? :P
no, you un-arco'd my flagellants

Onepagerules made a Leader character with jump pack for their Blessed Sisters a full year before this
And I did the cannoness thing with 2 spare models I have
Write that down! 😏
I know i went third party for the Repentia because I hated the way those looked ALONG with the flagelants.
Jimmy neutron and his brain blasts
I do have to say I find the idea of the benefictus insulting. They nerf our psyker to trash tier this edition and then release a new one.
