    I've been doing it this way for about 25 years. Just use an old belt. I always put a mark across the pulley with a paint marker incase the rubber bonding slips. It never has.

    I do a similar thing with a ratchet strap around the balancer and hook to the frame. Works exactly the same except no risk of ruining your a/c or what ever pulley is closest

      An inexpensive big corded Bauer Impact Wrench that you can get for $69 on a deal featuring 1050lbs of breakaway torque would take care of it first time around without having to belt to secure. Why on Earth would you use an impact driver for this job? At best that is suitable for moderate to small bolts.

    • @RGV2300
      @RGV2300 2 роки тому

      @@jsun3117 almost 100 usd in my country for a corded impact wrench, that price is doable, altough the greater price.

      Sometimes a decent branded long handled ratchet or breaker bar can cost even more than the corded impact wrench I described. The thing about an impact wrench is it uses centripetal force to extract the bolt without any reinforcements needed to secure the surrounding moving structure.

    • @jsun3117
      @jsun3117 2 роки тому +1

      The best approach for this job is an impact wrench paired with a mass impact socket that transfers more efficient force from the wrench.

    hey, sorry if this is a dumb question but how many pulleys are present on that side of the car? I have a Ford Figo and the crank pulley broke and it was making a noise when I was driving it so the mechanic removed the small fan belt and now I can drive the car but there's no power steering until I put new pulley. Is it the crank pulley?
