    Thank you for this! Bidets are in almost every home in Argentina, as a separate standalone bathroom fixture, next to the toilet. There's a saying, if you have something on your face, would you rather wipe it off or wash it off? I do not use toilet paper after as a rule. The stream is quite precise, or I have skills or something, because I do not have wet underwear. I have a hot water inlet on mine, but I really can't be bothered to wait for the hot water. My master toilet is next to a double vanity, so I drilled a hole in the side of the vanity just big enough to run the hot water line through. While the nozzles have a cleaning mode, you still have to clean the mechanism. There's a plastic door that you flip open and clean while cleaning the toilet. During the great TP shortage, the bidet makers were often out of stock. You can get a "portable" bidet for travel, which is just a squeeze bottle that holds about 16 oz of water with a screw-on nozzle. Once you get used to it, nothing else is acceptable. Thanks again!

    These are so good, if I ever move house, this is almost the first thing I'll be packing to install wherever I go.
    Odd thing - I'm the only person in the house uses it.
    Other peeps can't get their minds around using it - daft.

    I was born in 1955: In Jamaica, back in the day, many houses had bidets, especially the older ones. But after a while, I guess to save cost, the trend faded.
    We had five girls and two boys as siblings, plus our parents. We mostly used the bidets for washing during our menstrual periods. We also used toilet paper at times for #2's. Oh how I miss a bidet, it was like luxury! We felt soo clean!

    Great easy to follow video as usual. I would like to install the hot/cold water model, but since I have a tankless hot water heater, I would end up wasting a lot of water before it would actually get hot. And for the price of the cold water only model it would be worth trying to see if I could stand using cold water only.

    • @GinaKayLandis
      @GinaKayLandis 9 місяців тому +1

      Tankless hot water heaters should provide hot water quicker than a regular tank. Any delay would be remaining water in the line between the tankless and the toilet, as that line is not cleared of water when the hot water tap is closed.

    • @mj1s735
      @mj1s735 9 місяців тому +2

      @@GinaKayLandis That is pretty much the reason for the delay and also because my tankless system is now in the garage on the 1st floor. The tank system was on the second floor centrally located to all my bathrooms. I was bored so I actually timed it and it can take from 15 - 30 seconds for the water to get hot to the touch, even at full force and full hot.

    I bought two bidet attachments from Amazon a few months ago . They are inexpensive and easily fitted .
    I don't know what the fuss is about regarding hot water . Cold is sufficient for the job , and it's refreshing too .
    Toilet paper is used after just to dry the crack and ensure the area is clean . Or better still , a small towell which can be washed each week or two , especially if you're single and the only user .
    I must have the cleanest rear end in my neighborhood , after I've been to the toilet 😊
    They should be fitted in every household here in the UK 🇬🇧 .

    Since the tp shortage during the pandemic we had bidets installed in all our bathrooms. I have this brand in my guest bathroom without the hot water as it’s too far for the hot water to be reached - MOVE your booty around for better cleaning. Obviously your right in your opinion and situation. However, everyone is different. If you three or more females using same bathroom with a tanked hot water tank. This might make sense. Or just use cold water and man up. I have thought like you before but did the math and it’s almost a wash short term. But long term, lesser. But if tankless hot water tank close or in bathroom, smaller or much larger houses have them there, it would make perfect sense.

      Either your water must be relatively expensive or you use some cheap sandpaper-like TP. Frankly, heat isn't necessary for bidet. I was initially concerned about that, but when toilet paper became scarce during the pandemic, I purchased a cold water bidet and found even during the coldest part of the winter it wasn't really an issue.

    Old school still works if you have a sink near your toilet. Have a supply of wash cloths just for your bottom only, wipe enough with TP initially and proceed to clean your bottom with soap and water standing at the sink, repeat as often as needed. It was a great way to keep my toddlers clean. No need to buy all of the disposable wipes which clog up your pipes...for those with bidets, hotels I notice have towels for drying. I still like soap and water vs plain water.

    After looking at this contraption, I would not use it for this reasons:
    1. It changes the height of the toilet seat bowl, there is now a big gap that will allow insect to crawl into the toilet bowl. The surface of the
    of the seat is not flush flat as before.
    2. We do not know after some time of usage this bigger gap will present warpping of the protective rubber of the seat or the toilet seat.
    2. Water consumption usage, would increased tremendously.
    3. We cannot assume that this method would clean off the soiled dirt effectively.
    4. The protrusion at the side of the toilet seat bowl plus the hose rubber piping, would make it hard to clean the toilet properly, many obstruction.
    5. Accident can happen if you switch to hot water and didn't realised the temperature setting, you might burn or scald your skin and one mistake is a hard lesson to recover from especially if other guest that are not familiar with it usage of this toilet bowl contraption.
    6. If anyone who uses this spray method toilet bowl, has wet diarrhea stool, that toilet bowl will be smear with soiled material all over and this cleaning of spray soiled material are harder to be properly cleaned.
    7. So much control, if one uses paper toilet over the spray method, if the mechanism happen to fail, and you depend on it...then you in a lurch...well in paper one cannot go wrong.
    etc etc

    I bought my house in June 2019. Here comes pandemic and people are hoarding toilet paper. I didn’t worry cuz I have bidet. Just bought dozens of washcloths to dry me up and toss them in laundry basket after each use.

    You would have to run it on self clean for about 10 to 20 seconds on hot before the hot water would ever get over there to the controller. Each time…meaning water does not stay hot in the tube. So be prepared for a very cold shot to the bum!

    The best bidet is the squat bidet the old fashion way, which most Americans and Europeans don't know nothing about it.

    Wrong. Use the toilet paper to wipe away excess faecal matter first then wash. You cannot skip the first step and it is more hygienic to also have the second step and the third step is to wash your hands.
    Especially for ladies, wipe from front to back to lessen the risk of urinary tract infections (UTI).. Spraying directly without wiping increases the risk of UTI.

    I think bidets are a good item to have in a bathroom. However, I can’t get past the idea that using one negates the use of toilet paper. I feel merely spraying your parts means your behind region is totally clean. Besides, who wants wet/damp underwear from a bit of a drip dry?

    Shouldn't it have a hot air dryer or something?
    Or do you still need toilet paper to dry off?
