War of the Spark Lore:
The official story of War of the Spark is out and we start off the lore on this channel by looking at the stories as told by the cards in this historic set. Niv Mizzet Reborn is a card that completes a decades old journey of one of the most iconic characters on Ravnica and Magic: The Gathering as a whole. Niv Mizzet is the founder and guildmaster if the Izzet League and one of the most intelligent beings in the Multiverse. Through every expansion, set, and block on Ravnica, this dragon genius has been a fixed figure for players. However, with the approach of Nicol Bolas and the War of the Spark, Niv Mizzet finally meets his end. Death is not enough to take him out though, and a smart dragon always has a plan to come back! Witness the Rebirth of Niv Mizzet!

Was super excited for War of the Spark. Glad to see my boy Niv-Mizzet having a big moment. I got a bit ahead of myself and ended up getting the Izzet guild symbol and Niv-Mizzet Equation tattoo'd on my chest.

I think *seated at the right hand of the Guildpact* would a little more flavorful. Both for the Apostle's Creed and for the WotS story.

Niv Mizzet is way more instrumental to the story of Ravnica than I think people give him credit for. That is why I love Aether Hub’s videos. Love Niv Mizzet.
Prior to this card’s reveal, I was looking to make a Guilds deck with Ramos, Dragon Engine as the commander. Then I saw this guy. It’s like Wizards knew. Wasn’t a big Mizzet fan before, but damn if I’m not now!

(first time commenting, love the work you do here, and Niv has got to be one of my favorite characters to tell the truth, and I even have a commander deck for one of his previous versions, so I'd certainly love to make one for his new form!) My friends and I have been wondering the specifics about Niv's resurrection/ power gain for some time now, it's nice to finally know how it all went down though!
I love the rebirth story for Niv Mizzet he was one of the only cards that could potentially win me games when I first started playing commander. And having his death and rebirth story is just so cool.

Niv mizzet's lore is actually way cooler than I thought. Never delved too deep in most of MTG's lore before and found war of the spark actually pretty awesome after listening to the backstory for all of the events leading to it.
I’m really digging the the new Niv and the entire Storyline so far. I’ve been literally binge watching the entire set of lore videos and I love the detail put into it and seeing the cards involved in the stories too! Keep up the great work!!

Man, I was really hoping that Niv-Mizzet would finally find a way to become a pseudo-planeswalker using some kind of amazing technology, but this is pretty cool too.

I started playing mtg a few months back, and have a niv mizzet commander deck. I looked up lore of him and loved it.

The concept of Niv-Mizzet Reborn's ability is great. The only way to get the full effect from it is to build a deck where all 10 guilds are trying to work together, which is fitting for the story role he suits.
Not sure how effective such a deck would be, though.
Good video, though I have to disagree and warn my fellow fans against buying the book. Seriously save your money, its bad. I hope you will do another brilliant tribute for another great fallen character, Gideon Jura.
Gideon was kind of boring. Also, his actions don't really make any sense. Why anyone would sacrifice themselves for Liliana is way beyond my understanding.

Before he saves her Liliana literally has a group of zombies beating him half to death(yes invulnerable but the intent is there). Then suddenly the white knight has to white knight all over the place and die for his queen.

You must not like white mana in general then and lets be real here she wasn't working for Bolas because she wanted to, he owns her soul, she is basically a slave to him at this point. You are also ignoring what she does to Bolas using Bontu and Oketra. As for Gideon's "white knighting" he would do the same for any one of the Gatewatch and the only woman he has actually shown any real interest in is Chandra.
@@TheSwordsman100 I'm not saying it's completely out of character, but if I had a choice I'd rather we still had Gideon rather than Liliana. She would have died a really interesting and heroic death, instead now we get to continue on with Liliana without any of the things that made her interesting. I think they could have done a lot more with Gideon, he had a lot more potential.
My baby boi Niv, he was killed just before the war almost just before Jace lost his Guildpact status and powers, when the Bridge opened over the Chamber. Jace couldn't give up that power cuz he lost it but thanks to Nissa redirecting the plane's leylines into the revival spell it gave the Guildpact to Niv

Niv's role in war of the spark were so hyped and yet he did nothing at all besides the stab on bolas' back, niv is my fav character of mtg, but i think that the book suffered from lazy writing :/
He did more than most Guildmasters. Rakdos gave Gideon a ride and then got blasted halfway across the city.

With Jace and the Guildpact, I think his duties are over and he can leave. But I feel that they will return to Ravnica. Not like in 5 years but probably when magic is 35 years old.

Not gonna lie, I am a little sad that you didn't mention that the spear Hazoret gave Samut who, with the help or Karn, gave the spear to Niv-Mizzit to attack Nico Bolas with was actually a gift to the mono-red god so there is a little symbolic irony there lol. Just a small little thing but I love the video, keep up the beuno work lmao.
I am still so fucking worked up about Domri's death, I gave and will go great lengths to collect him and every card being his names, art or quotes. What can I say. . . I love that little bugger and am very distort by the loss of him. I wanted to more and more of him. Now I am at a loss. I already miss him.
