Thank you for showing me with with good ole fashion tools. All these new guys have these new, expensive tools that I don’t want nor have the money for. Appreciate it.
Nice video. You're using the chuck instead of a sacrificial block of wood. I was holding my breath as you inserted the Forstner bit into the wood. Saw you quit when the proper depth was reached. Thanks for the video. Obviously, one must be very careful when trimming the material and not hit the metal ring.
Nice olive wood ring. Been making rings for a while now. If you decide to make more, then the only immediate advice I have would be using a carbide tool that’s not curved. I use the square bits on mine, so I don’t have to worry about a CA glue gap between the wood n steel. Still a damn good job since it’s your third ring.

I have been in an Olive wood only turners workshop, and I do understand the smell you are talking about.

Very nice. I may have to try that.
Thank you Ed.
That is very nice Ed I will have to try one or two, By the way have you done a video on sharpening your skew chisels.
I know this is an older video, but can you give me a run down of that equipment you are using? Thanks!
Nice video, but as teaching instruction should never put the ca glue with your fingers...really bad for your health...take care!
Using your finger to spread ca glue!!!
