Just a tip on using a third party log profile, get an ND Filter, then put your iso at 800. Just adjust your exposure using your ND filter. This works mostly on canon camera using third party C-Log.
I don't have C-log with my canon 90d either so I've tweaked neutral settings to flattened the video. I bumped down the contrast and saturation and it seems to be working for me. I do have to color grade, but i feel like it gives me more range. On an unrelated note congrats on hitting 100 subs, now for that epidemic sound subscription lol.
ofc, no gatekeeping here, just helping :) ua-cam.com/video/zCU_pxi-bLw/v-deo.html that video will show you my exact settings on the M50 and how I tweak the. Changes are minor from both standard and neutral, so easy to replicate. What M50 model are you using?
Nice vid thanks. So you recommend using a the Neutral profile but with some tweaks to increase the dynamic range. What would those tweaks be? Do you maybe have video on what to tweak exactly? Thanks!
Yes i do and thank you. The M50 is 8bit so a lot less room to grade in post. Meaning we want to get as close as possible while shooting and press dynamic range to a max. I do have a vid on that. Check my videos for M50
Hi there! I wonder what settings you have on Color Space Transform in Da Vinci Resolve when you use neutral and cinestyle color profile? The input color space and input gamma. Output color space and output gamma. Thanks
Long time since I used M50, film only with C70 now adays, but my workflow is the same. I ALWAYS go from what I shoot with into DWG/Intermediate (as it's the widest space) and I output from DWG/Intermediate -> 709/709.A (as I'm on mac). Then I grade in-between as that is the least disruptive. Any look LUT happens after the output transform. As Cinestyle isn't a real logprofile but mostly just low contrast, it works with 709 as input and then you sort it with correction nodes before grading inside DWG
Camera: Canon 250D NLE: Vegas Pro 19 Third Party LOG profile: Cinestyle LUT: Kenstein Kodak 2383 V2 Audio: ❌ If this footage was shot in neutral or standard, it would be impossible to apply the lut without destroying the image. This is the reason why even if it's not recommended to put C.LOG on an 8-bit canon camera like the RP & 90D, I would still ask them to use the LOG profile so I can use all my luts I created & give them better results. ua-cam.com/video/sqt7vqqEYD4/v-deo.html
Hi, Mr, I'm using canon m50, only shoot outdoor cooking videos In farmland, I have to shoot with ND filter all the time due to harsh or more light to get shallow depth of field. So please recommend a picture profile to me, it should also give a noise-free image in shadow & a more cinematic look, thanks in advance
I would go with my custom Neutral profile or Cinestyle. Both should solve your needs. Cinestyle with push the dynamic range (more variations of light and dark tones) a little more than the custom Neutral, but will require a little more work in post, but not much. As Cinestyle and Neutral are both free, test both and see which one you like the most. If you are shooting in the same outdoor location every time. It could be worth considering putting up a party tent and then adding some artificial light to make consistent lighting easier. Let me know if this helps or if you have any other questions. I'm here to help
ua-cam.com/video/GQgphFMeHLE/v-deo.html This is my competitor video link, I want to achieve the same look, please give any valuable insights regarding camera settings & editing techniques
Well, hard question. I would say technically no. A color profile doesn't directly give your more sharpness, simplified. But, a profile with more dynamic range will give your more possibility in post production and there you could add more sharpness as a cinestyle profile would contain more information in highlight and shadows. Simpler put, yes, you would probably feel that it looks sharper if you add love in postproduction, but if you want a sharper image directly from camera, then a neutral profile or standard profile with added sharpness in the camera would prob give you a sharper image.
It's a windows error and not a Cinestyle error so hard to help with a generic answer as it can be so much. My guess would be to ensure you have the latest version of EOS Utility 3 installed and install it as Admin. If that doesn't work, try to open Windows Firewall and enable the EOS Utility app manually. If that doesn't work, a strange workaround could be to try to connect to your camera wireless as that bypasses the USB security. If that doens't work, I'm out of suggestions unfortunatly.
Since the day i start using my m50, I've been searching for the video. Now i finally found what i was looking for. Thank you so much. 👌
That is some amazing feedback. You just made my month. I'm so grateful for your comment and that my content was helpful. Thank you 🙏🧡

Yes, that is a very good advice. Thank you for sharing m8
How about on cinestyle? What should be the base iso

Depends on what you’re after

It seems the cinestyle download has been taken down. Any altnertive sites that offer the download or do you have a download link for cinestyle?
Unfortunately not. I sold my M50 a long time ago. C70's and R6's now
Witch camera are u using for your video shoot?
In this video most of it is the M50 with EF L glass on the speedbooster and I use my phone to capture the M50.
can you do this on the r50 too?
Don’t own one, but will see what I can do. @canonnordic care to lend me one? 😅

Great work Per - have subbed 👍
Thank you very much and I really appreciate it. Do you use any of these color profiles and which one are your favorite?
Did you use a LUT for this video?
This video is graded with my own preset in Davinci Resolve. Powergrade. Like a reusable custom grade

Thank you 🙏 I hope my new video’s are better. I appreciate the feedback
Thanks!
Great my work!!!
Are you using M50?
Is cinestyle safe to use? By that i mean it won't harm any thing related to camera or data for that matter?
I've never heard of any problems using it. It's just a color profile (a chart to map colors and lights).
Thankss
Thx
Stick to the neutral profile and make some tweaks....but I'm not gonna tell you what those tweaks are🤷🤦
Where to download CLOG? Link please?
I have updated the video description to include the links to all the profiles I mention. I hope it helps.
