Have to agree with Archie, l like watching the behind the scenes stuff with TP Gentleman but Anthony comes across very self centered and l don't like that in someone, he is like a child constantly showing off, even towards his business partner who actually knows his stuff. He also doesn't treat his ordinary customers with much more respect, unless they are high end clients where he is kissing ass. Then you have Roman playing them all like puppets.

There is something fishy with the whole TPG thing. I suspect they are making up all their numbers, acting like they are running a big business, when in reality its just flipping some watches every week for a small profit each time. I think they might just be interested in attracting a huge UA-cam following to make money and that involved them essentially flexing watches, cars and bringing on a hot girl, with the background being them running a fast moving dealership doing big deals and flying around to meetings) Its basically what a millennial on instagram imagines business to be about) Something else odd is a lot of the phone calls dont seem realistic. Supposed experts in finance, or 'investors' talking gibberish just doesn't sound right. One or two funny calls yes, but constantly? Suspect some of these are fake scripted calls for UA-cam.

TPG only like hype watches. Their taste in watches is like my kid cousin who browses instagram. It basically comes down to Rolex Daytona and AP Royal Oak. Its all just about showing off what all the other kids think is cool.

@@eyeheartsushi2212 Well yes) I think they just hold one with the blue strap to try and sell with no luck so far) In the meantime they flex with it)) What is funny is that when I got into watches about 15 years ago or so a lot of these hype watches were either unloved or just total dogs) Nautilus (& Aquanaut) was a dog in the Patek range. Watch nuts used to predominantly say without fail it was ugly. Daytonas were something people with more money than sense were thought to buy. AP Royal Oak was there but seen as overpriced watch for playboys but watch guys didnt seem to care for it too much. The watch guys used to like Pateks, preferably with complication, or some JLCs, even Breguet used to be talked about. Rolex used to be respected for watches like the GMT which was also well liked but Omega got almost as much attention. The watch guys used to get into movements and functions. You still have that a bit but mostly its all about dropping a lot of money on the most expensive massive ash tray on a wrist you can find. Its about chasing trends. Impressing other people who also are into showing off to each other. None of these guys seem to really enjoy watches for their own sake but merely for that moment of fleeting satisfaction when showing one of the watches in their 'collection' to the guy next to them. All these guys and their customers seem to just be on a merry go round of buying, wearing, flipping for the next one. Just empty materialism.

I’ve read stories about the Nautilus being frowned upon, like you wrote. Rolex has/had its share of dogs as well, but now their ADs are “allocating” OPs and DJs. Ridiculous.
@@eyeheartsushi2212 My pleasure) Just sharing my old timer stories LoL The Nautilus is the most extreme example, nobody liked it amongst watch nuts, they used to laugh at the 'ears' sticking out, and the consensus was that it wasn't really a proper Patek as it is a 'dress' watch maker. Bit like buying a 4*4 from Ferrari. I considered buying one believe it or not because I thought it was good value vs a Rolex Sub back then as it was about 15k list if I recall correctly and dealers back then would give you a healthy discount to move their stock) I didnt get one in the end because I thought it wasn't a real dive watch with at only 120m water resistance) Just shows how a lot of all this is just fashion despite all the talk about timeless nature of high end watches. It will all I am sure shift again so my advice is be careful making big investments especially in things you cant sell on. Also if you are buying to wear really do buy what you like and not what is in vogue.

flooring / lighting / safe / display cases / interior demising walls / signage / furniture / etc. are all cheap. only real expense would be changing to impact glass (which is usually offset by lower insurance premiums & lower utility bills, which is important in texas), plus many cities allow you to finance those improvements in the name of energy efficiency. very easy to obtain 20 year financing, tacked right onto the property tax bill, zero money out of pocket. the landlord would definitely contribute towards that.

Tried watching the Timepiece gentleman channel. Couple interesting videos but mainly some rich kids spending money and showing off... No character and no passion. @@sheiladikshit5110 Thats what I suspected) I think their niche is essentially selling hyped up watches ie Royal Oaks and Daytonas. When I say sell I really mean flip as they are essentially running an online marketplace through their watsapp groups with UA-cam funnelling potential customers. Chrono24 is doing the same thing but has wider reach so if anything their business is disadvantaged in terms of the model.
The numbers don't make sense, it all seems too high for the kind of margin and reasonable turnover of stock they would have. If you look on their website they hardly have any stock at all compared to a conventional dealer although they may argue that they move stock before it goes on the website) The phone calls from 'investors' and partners, not to mention some of the customers sound made up to me. Scripted and vague waffle type conversations. Most business people are serious types who get to the point. This all seems like a fantasy of what business is from the eyes of a millennial on instagram rather than reality)
