    I come back to this video every now and again, and it never fails to encapsulate me. This song puts me in the GROOVIEST of grooves, and the happiest of moods. Love this shit.

    i love how percussive the bass is. it sounds like there is a snare in the room reacting to the amp. there might actually be who knows haha

      Nah it's plucking really hard, he's got fresh strings to which adds to that clangy "snare" sound

      They were in the same band, Reflux(which the vocalist of that band, Ash Avildson, went on to create sumerian records)Also, Evan Brewer was a student of Victor Wooten, I believe he even lived with him for a while.

    I watched The Faceless play a few nights ago....It was great! Evan is one of my fav bass players, and holds a major influence on my bass style. So the best part about that night, was that I finally got to meet one of my idols! I was just chilling outside drinkin a beer after their set....and bam! He waled outside. So we talked for about ten minutes, slap bass, victor wooten, blah blah blah. He is one great guy and a humble musician. I'm glad I got the chance to meet him and the rest of the band.

    Okay how come one-one's mentioned the bit at 2:01. I thought I was going crazy trying to understand how he's playing it, but it's looping the previous section underneath what he's actually playing. Was this added in post recording or was it achieved using a looping machine? This is amazing bass playing by the way, I am just interested in how he did that. Thanks.

    I saw him live about a year ago. I've been to a lot of shows, but that one in particular was amazing. He played with Animals as Leaders and a few other bands.
