Holy crap Brian, I'm glad everyone and all the snakes are ok, and I'm glad you guys got help as soon as possible to fix the damage. Hope everything goes well within the next couple of days. The worst natural disaster I've ever experienced was probably the first few hurricanes that hit central florida a while back. I've also experienced tornadoes when I visited family in Oklahoma many years back.

Thats real tough Brian. Keep your chin up bud this too shall pass.
I live in South Florida and lived through Hurrican Andrew back in 93. My entire house/car/and basically ever valuable was lost in the storm. Roof blew off, windows shattered, had to run out in the middle of the storm and run to a nieghbors house. Was a rough year for us. But it slowly got better, and it will for your family at BHB too.
Dont lose hope and just look at this as an opportunity to do some new renovations @ bhb.

Sorry to see this, Brian. It's tough watching a lot of hard work go to waste, but I'm sure the facility will be as good as new in no time!
My worst disaster was about 3 summers ago at my cottage. There was a Tornado that formed right in our bay from the lake and ripped right past our cottage and through our property. It missed us by 6 feet and it tore down 62 of our largest trees, 3 of which just barely missed the roof of our cottage.

My worst snake disaster happened yesterday. My first ever Reptile (I'm 14) , a Florida Ribbon Snake, died in front of me. He had scale rot, and despite aggressive treatment, never really got better, and at some point also contracted a respiratory infection. He just started slipping away, no matter what I did. It was so sad because he was such an awesome pet. He was alert and so lively, but he handled beautifully... never bit me, never musked, nothing. My whole family loved him, and he's missed.

Im really glad that u guys got back on your feet. One bad thing that happened to me was that we had an tornados 8 days in a row, and we own quite a few reptiles reptiles, so we were afraid what happened to u, would happen to us, fortunately, it didn't, but it was still scary.

The craziest disaster I've experienced happened when I was 5 or 6 years old. I was visiting my grandparents on my mom's side when a tornado came and destroyed the next door neighborhood which was where my uncle lived. Also, it was right next to a lake and my uncle's house was the only one standing in the neighborhood. Anyways, nice video, guys! 😊

Oh man! I moved to california from a Ohio (Toledo area) about 3 years ago. My whole family is back there in Ohio and they went through all of that, thankfully nothing happened to any of their homes, but there was a lot of damage. I feel for all of you on the Snake Bytes team! I am so happy to hear all your reptiles are okay.

I'm sorry about what happened to the shop, I know you guys can get back on your feet.
I have a barn where we ride horses, about 3 years ago, the barn caught fire and all but one of the horses survived. Over 22 horses were killed and seeing them carried by construction was devastating. When it was rebuilt part of the indoor arena was also torn off by a tornado about a year ago. Crazy!

My worst disaster, Hurricane Fran actually hit Raleigh & Durham in 1996. Made it through the hurricane ok, then noticed water pouring from the woods. Nobody told me that Crabtree creek ran behind the apts. Water flooded to Butt level. It totally sucked. Lucky for me, I had just moved to an upstairs apt. however I still had to leave for 10 days because they condemed the bld. :/ What a pain!

Sorry for all that you guys went through! Water coming through the electrical outlets, lights, etc...that was surreal! So glad all of you guys and the animals are okay. Born & raised in Indiana, so I've experience some interesting storms & tornados. Always lots of fun trying to move every single critter down to your basement, while listening to the radio reports & listening for the sirens, lol! Right now, getting over a wicked case of sun poisoning.

The absolute worst disaster was back in 96 when Hurricane Fran slammed into the North Carolina Coast. 26 lives where clammed and hundreds of thousands of houses were destroyed. I remember watching out the window of our house as trees where literally ripped from the ground roots and all. The scariest part was the roads where completely flooded and we where trapped without power and water.

it was june of 2012 I saw leaves blowing around. and it started pouring and blowing wind. luckily there are trees around my house. but the power went out and I had heard about tornadoes touching down in Roanoke Covington and out on 42. it was my worst nightmare.thankfully all my cats were inside except for one of my older cats. when I had forgot that she was outside I had a heart attack when the storm was over. I have a soft spot for cats. and a scare spot for terrible storms. I hate bad storms. if it ever happens again im gonna have a heart attack. I hate bad storms and I love cats, snakes and spiders.

I work at the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park as a sales clerk ( I hope to get into the bird or herp department at the zoo some day). While I was in one of the shops, the biggest earthquake I ever felt hit, and I was loaded on caffine. When the earthquake hit I was leaning on a counter and out of no where the counter starts shaking violently, I seriously thought I was having a seizure. The earthquake lasted a good 2 minutes. I think that was in April, in Baja California. It measured at 7.2

I live in one of those old, 60-something year old concrete houses here in NW Florida... when Ivan hit, we just boarded up the windows and holed up in my parents' room. I stayed with the dogs under their bed, and slept through the whole thing.
    5 AM.
Dad wakes me up. I go outside with him; we're in the eye of the storm. The powerlines are buzzing, the wind is howling, and everything was surreal and beautiful. Of course, I'm no morning person. "Dad, can I go back to sleep?"

+Sydney Monminie I have a ball python, and he was nippy as a baby, and the more i handled him he calmed down. He's three now, and hasnt bitten since he was a hatchling. I cant say the same for boas, but maybe my friend's was just sassy by nature. Personally, id suggest a ball. theyre easy to work with, and dont mind being handled too much

My worst: Ice storm in 12-2006. When the ice stopped coming down, my electric was off & it was silent outside. I live in the woods & it was beautiful... till the trees started cracking, breaking & falling sounding like hundreds of gunshots all night long.
I was terrified, waiting for one to fall on or thru my house. Some of the branches were driven 3-4 inches into the frozen ground! Then 6 days with no electric.

Awesome video but sorry you had to go through this it had to be traumatizing. I had a 70+ year old maple tree drop on my house two years ago when a twister came through. My house was totally covered in greenery, electrical wires on the soaked ground around my house and I was pinned in and they had to use chain saws to get me out. Broken glass everywhere, tons of roof and structural damage. Had all my snakes in totes ready to move them out and it sucked. I was a wreck for about a month.

Back on April 25th when I had been at a event held by Invisible Children called "The Rescue", my city had been hit by a tornado, we were outside when the tornado hit, in the middle of an open field the storm threw many things around, pulled signs out of the ground, and a bird lost control and hit me in the back of the head. Luckily the storm didn't cause any major injuries, just alot of structural damage.

I work at a major retailer and we got hit by a microburst over night. When we came in, in the morning, seven 2,000 pound HVAC units were ripped off their mounts and tumbled across the roof.. One of the units went 60 feet across the roof. There was probably 1" of water in most parts of the 60,000 sq foot building.

i remember as a kid, our worst disaster was a very bad case of bad luck -was when 4 important household electrical items all went down and needed replacing in 2 weeks. It was the TV, then the fridge. then the washermachine and then the vacumn cleaner. A very expensive pay out for my father who was the only bread winner of the house at the time. but seriously the chances of 4 electrical items all breaking down at very close time of one another is very low. we must have got a curse somehow

The craziest disaster that ever happened to me was in 1993, we had a fierce wind storm! The cherry tree in our front yard came tumbling down and blocked our front door. The door stayed trapped like that for a week! Funny thing was about a year before I had a dream that my sis and I were trapped in the house and the wind was blowing fiercely and all of a sudden we had trees all falling down into our house and we were running for our lives!

Glad to hear that your collection is fine. Even if insurance covered for the building, there's no replacing a life.

We had a flood during my senior year in high school, while we were in school. the worst part is our school started to flood and it is the regional evacuation center. Don't think that was suppose to happen. Good luck with cleaning everything up, that water damage is a killer.
