  • Cara Cara Oranges are in peak season from January through early April!
On the outside Cara Cara Oranges look exactly the same as regular Navels. Inside the beautiful and exciting differences are revealed. Cara Cara Oranges have pink to light red flesh which is seedless like normal Navels, but the straight-forward sweetness is balanced by a mild Strawberry to Cranberry-like finish. Cara Cara’s tend to be quite juicy and that tasty pink flesh is not only packed with Vitamin C, but is also an excellent source of Lycopene.
Look for “Cara Cara” or “Cara” or PLU 3110 or 93110 (organic) on the sticker.

I was at Walmart last week looking for clementines, but they were out of stock so I just grabbed a bag of what I thought were regular oranges. I peeled one and to my surprise, it was pinkish. It tasted very flavorful as well. That was my first experience with cara cara. I think I'll buy those from now on

I also bought a packet of what I thought were regular navel oranges and they were cara cara. I was blown away by the flavour, I consider them better than Washington navel which I grew 20 years ago and they were the best navel oranges I ever tasted. I don’t have the room or the time to look after an orange tree now, but if I did buy another citrus tree the cara cara would be top of the list.

    Hi John
I’m another John, although I live in Perth Australia. I by accident bought some oranges which I initially thought were regular Washington navel oranges, but on the label which I didn’t check properly it said cara cara oranges. I had never tried them before and they’re not a commonly seen orange in the supermarket or specialty fruit and vegetable markets. I was very pleasantly surprised by the flavour. 20 years ago I grew a Washington navel orange, being home grown they were the best navel oranges I tasted. The cara cara definitely has berry flavours and I thought the taste was better than the regular navel orange. And it was purely by accident that I tried these cara cara oranges. The market where I bought them from is some distance from home, but I will try and buy some more. If I had the spare land area I would definitely plant a cara cara tree. I could grow one in a container but, I currently have too many other fruit trees to look after otherwise I consider the fruit one of the best citrus I have ever tried. The only other citrus which impressed me greatly was a hybrid orange/tangerine called a tangor which I have never seen in any markets, but I think it’s the sweet citrus and berry flavours in the cara cara that have won me over.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE cara cara oranges with a passion they are my all time fave orange and all time fave fruit and come early winter I can't wait for them to hit the store shelves! I just found one at sprouts market with a 2.5 INCH NAVEL and u know that means it was the ultimate in sweet juicy goodness and I can tell ya it certainly was! I've never found a cara cara with a navel that massive and it was heavenly. I love them better than any other orange variety they are hands down the best ever yummy tummy time lol

i don't know why, but the 3 times I bought a bad of cara cara they had a huge pith and not very juicy. I bought them since December this year too. I'm not saying they are bad, but I can't seem to get good ones. However, the blood oranges, lemons, and grapefruits I've gotten this year have been some of the best. I made a few quarts of marmalade due to the low cost and unparalleled juice. I'll try one more batch of Cara Cara before I give up.

Delighted to see you back with videos again. Not so sure about the words that pop up...a little distracting. Regardless, I look forward to more vids. :) Happy New Year.

That tool was a complete disaster lol. I had high hopes for it too because I know not the existence of it and I hate how bad my thumb tips sting underneath the nail after peeling a few of these bad boys.
