I understand the FCC reason limiting the Transmit Power, but not allowing removeable antennas, I do not understand. 2 watts is enough for for family or commerial use. If the FCC would allow removeable antenna, but keep power settings at 2 watts you could then allow mobile use for the 22 channels. However, I would recamend that consumers get a GMRS license anyway.

Is there a range difference between the F and FS?

The F has a larger range with its longer antenna, so the FS's shorter antenna is primarily for situations that do not require said longer range and need a more compact option. You can read more about the KG-805F and 805FS in the original introduction blog post: www.buytwowayradios.com/blog/2020/10/introducing-the-wouxun-kg-805f-license-free-frs-radio.html

Not only is the F a little better receiving, the batteries will last longer because the amount of RF power transmitted is less.

Some other benefits to a business:
    1. Buy one programming cable and program in only 1 or 2 channels and name them something besides FRS ##. This way employees won't be tempted to take it home for personal FRS use. Also the risk of accidently changing to an unused channel is eliminated.
    2. The 805 series have the ability to have a roger beep at the beginning and end of transmission. This can be very useful in a work environment. And Hams will love you twice as much ;)
    3. Price, at first, seems high. However, getting consumer FRS at 1.7 watts output can cost about $60 each.
    4. If someone is listening to the FM broadcast, any FRS transmission will still get received. The FM radio feature can be turned off in the radios menu without the programing cable.

Hello! Huge fan of the channel. Also not sure if you guys do this or not but if you do can you guys post a video on how to program the motorola xpr 6550 to show names when someone transmit from a different radio?

How about you guys put out a video on the kg 905 G. I bought two of these radios off you guys and of course there's no manual and there's not a bunch of videos that tell you how to use these things and the menus are totally different than the 805g

@@TRuss686 The manual is posted, as is the software, on the buytwowayradios.com site. Underneath the KG-905G product picture, there's various tabs and it's there for download. I also have that radio and like it a great deal. One is going in each of my family's emergency prep kits and will see use often when hiking, etc.

@@jaybarr3307 I have already downloaded the manual but I would rather have an instructional video to look at like they do on all their other radios

Hi Tim, we appreciate the suggestion. There are plans to produce a couple of videos on the KG-905G as soon as time permits. Stay tuned!

Hi Chancellor, thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately we don't have a Motorola XPR6650 with which to create a video. The XPR6550 was discontinued about 6 years ago and is no longer available to resellers from Motorola in the US.
