Great Video and easy to understand. Is there a way to add a repeater to have a squelch tail at the end of the transmitting of the repeater?
The squelch tail can be added through the Menu Option 53
You didn't say how to add a CTCSS tone. Which option? If this is updated from the manual are the CTCSS also updated?
The tutorial is intended as a quick guide for the repeater function specifically. The process of adding a CTCSS Tone is the same as it usually is: options 9-12 in the built-in menu. More information can be found in the downloadable manual on its product page - www.buytwowayradios.com/wouxun-kg-1000g-plus.html
Option 9: Receive CTCSS Tone
Option 10: Transmit CTCSS Tone
Additionally,
Option 11: Receive DCS Code
Option 12: Transmit DCS Code
How does it ID itself?
It does not auto ID.
@BuyTwoWayRadios So, it does have to ID itself every 10 or 15 minutes per FCC regulation? And if so, what equipment is it and where to get it?
It’s not required to identify if it’s a family/home repeater.
@@6.5_shooter48 Ah, okay. Thanks.
Wouxon, if you are reading this: just build a proper all-in-one repeater for about $1k, make sure it's at minimum 25 watts on final output after the duplex (hopefully 50), have it be able to run on AC and DC and sell it. This making people jerry rig the set-up and buy multiple parts is just ugly.
The KG-1000G Plus repeater feature isn’t meant to replace regular repeaters. It is intended for temporary circumstances such as emergencies or testing. It is also something people can experiment with on the fly. For for constant every day use, normal repeaters are still more ideal.
@@BuyTwoWayRadios I know. Wouxon puts out some amazing products, but it would be nice if they made a proper repeater. Even BTech released one for GMRS. I think Wouxon can pull it off and place it in the $1k price range.
the GMRS-RPT50 does all of this and more..... self identifies.... and 50watt..... close to your price range.... $1500
