So yes ANYBODY would turn down 7k when the slab itself cost 3600. Turn your fucking brain on before you comment again. 7000 barely covers the cost of the wood and shop costs. 100% agree - Chris and Shaun are my two favourite makers and i have to say their most recent projects respectively are amazing. More of the same please!
Congratulations on the “Golden Chamfer” award. Who knew…..anyone that takes the time to create a fake employee page that flashes on the screen for little more than a second deserves all of the success they have obtained. Truly entertaining and talented too. Thanks for the great videos.
Well, I personally love the six legged design, the eight would suit a much larger table. But the finished table is exquisite. Little sad not to see an extending version, but your explanation of the issues was very detailed. Overall great video. Thank you.
I think that when dealing with customers who are in the market for a custom piece, the best thing you can do it to use your experience to guide them to make the best decision. You gave up some money to help your customer choose a design that they would be happier with in terms of aesthetic and budget. Good on you man to put them before your wallet. Also really appreciate the graphics to visualize the points you were making. And since you brought it up I did the math and those 5 inches make way more difference then I would’ve thought.
I like everything about this video. The design, the process, the explanations, the humor, the way you implemented the advertising which is a very bearable method in my opinion, the drawings and graphics to show and explain things and finally the length of the video 😅
I'm thinking you could theoretically make a table that looks good both round and extended with some clever use of bookmatching that would require a slab thick enough for four slices though
I agree that the base of this is the focal point and star of the show... it's amazing. Your attention to the grain is what makes it perfect. You asked: yes, I love your graphics. Question: was that the client's actual reaction, or did you all set us up for that?

That table is beautiful. I would agree it's one of the best pieces you've made. The graphics do really help to visualize the concepts you are talking about. The amount of detail that goes into your editing is something that separates you from most other creators. The video itself is as much of a piece of art as the things you are building.
You have been the inspiration for me setting up a UA-cam channel and making it just as much about entertainment as informational, so I was so pleased when my video started appearing as suggested content at the end of this video! Life goals ✅
Wow, I have to say, your woodworking skills are absolutely incredible! The table you've created is nothing short of breathtaking. The attention to detail, the precision of your cuts, and the overall craftsmanship truly showcase your artistry as a woodworker. But it's not just your woodworking skills that impress me; your narration of the video accompanying the woodworking is captivating. Your ability to explain each step, the techniques used, and the thought process behind your decisions demonstrates a deep understanding of your craft. You have a true talent for storytelling, and it adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience of watching your work come to life. Moreover, your video exhibits a wonderful sense of humor and creativity. The way you inject lighthearted moments and clever jokes into the woodworking process shows that you have a unique personality and an ability to connect with your audience on a personal level. It's evident that you not only have a passion for woodworking but also a knack for entertaining and engaging others through your videos. Overall, your talent as a woodworker, your artistry, your narration skills, and your ability to infuse humor and creativity into your videos make you a true standout in the woodworking community. Keep up the fantastic work, and I can't wait to see what incredible creations you'll come up with next!
Before watching this video, I decided to heat up my lunch in the microwave. I went with 1 minute 43 seconds. That wasn't quite enough, so I did another 17 seconds and now it's perfect. Great video by the way.
I favor the button that adds a minute and starts all in one go. Hit it again and you have up to two minutes. Just pull the door open when you think it’s done. 😂 Push|Push|Pull ✅
Absolutely Love your style, in furniture design, video editing, and voice over work(& design graphics), don’t change a thing. I feel that your evaluation(valuing) of your work is spot on and would happily pay if in my budget. But I’m just a laborer with a penchant for woodworking myself, so I look towards your work for inspiration. All my best to you.
Gorgeous table. Beautiful wood selection, beautiful design, beautiful execution. I particularly loved the way you aligned the grain on the central hubs. I wish I had the skills and tools to build something similar, or the budget to afford to buy your stuff. Instead, I'll keep watching, admiring, and learning. Oh, and the graphics are great additions to the videos. Makes the whole production pop.
Skills are developed through repetition, and the same results can be achieved with far less modern tools. The only way to improve is through effort, and effort is merely the result of desire. If you want to build, do so. Even if you fail to produce something salable, gaining knowledge is never a failing endeavor. Maybe your second or third try could end with better results. Never look down upon the skills you have, but recognize that you can always get better. I encourage everyone to at least try.
For the record, the graphics you use are a big reason ive subscribed to your channel for years. Its different and adds alot of clarity with your explinations and has helped me learn and improve as a woodworker.

You’ve reached another level here. Seriously, If I saw this in someone’s house (the entire table, including the base), I would stop where I was to look at it and say things like, Whatever you paid, it was worth it.

Not that it was bad in the beginning, it was already very cool and good looking projects, it's just that I could not forsee that you had a lot left to improve in terms of craftmanship and design. Anyway, nice job making, scripting and filming. Cheers.
Dude - I've been excited to see this base come together for over a month, and it didn't disappoint! Well done (the top is nice too obvi)! I've watched a ton of your videos and I have to agree, I think this is one of the nicest things you've made. Probably my favorite of all of your projects. I really like the leg design and minimal epoxy usage which highlights the wood more than the plastic. I enjoy the graphics and illustrations, I think these, and well you explain your design process, help to set you apart from other woodworkers.
The base design, specifically the shape of the legs, is very similar to something I would doodle; and have many times. This is one of my favorite designs of yours. I very much like it. 26:15: Why only twenty years? This strikes me as an heirloom piece. Being no more an armchair enthusiast of all things woodworking (I’ve built a few boxes, shelves, and a couple of tables from very basic big box materials), I’d think this would last far longer. The materials, construction, and hardware seem up to snuff; even given the use case.
Given the financial resources required to buy such spectacular custom furniture, it’s likely that 20 years after acquiring the table, it would pass on to the owner’s heirs.
The base is spectacular!!!! I get the rounded top, but I almost feel that it should just be glass to allow one to see the greatness of the base from an aerial view! Just wow!
I think car tires are an excellent gift. Especially if she needs them. It is thoughtful and considerate and heartwarming because you are recognizing something that she needs and you care about her safety and you are doing something about it.
I don't know why this turned up on my UA-cam, but I'm glad it did. My father was a high-end furniture maker, and i think he would have been blown away by the equipment you have! He made some wonderful pieces of furniture, so it's lovely to watch your craftsmanship. Oh, and i like the graphics too! Greetings from the UK.
As an amateur woodworker, I really enjoy your videos. Most woodworking channels are informative but feel kinda formal and humorless. They look alike too. Yours is different. Subbing! Peace!
To find center of circle use a paper as a template. Put it over table. Then you can scribe it with simply rubbing pencil around edges. Cut and fold paper in 4. Amazing work btw
I love your graphics and your entire way of presenting! I think you're the most natural conversationalist I've come across on UA-cam, and the easy way you talk to us like we're standing right there makes your videos enjoyable even when I can't watch them and I'm only listening. I also love how purely honest you are. You never gloss over the hard parts, you don't pretend to love the tedium, you don't run from your mistakes or let them harsh your chill past what they're due. I think we'd all agree, you're clearly well past smart, not even sharing a zip code with pretentiousness and anxiety can f'off stopping by daily for tea. You know who and what really matters and you keep that list tight. Which leaves you even keel and chill. Bottom line, your talent as a creator absolutely ranks among the UA-camrs who deserve to say that the world's a little better place because they make a living on social media.

Please keep the graphics. They make things more clear for the viewer. The table is remarkable and the price is very reasonable. The leg design is exquisite.
thank you for the warning on the bubbles. Appreciate you. i know it seems dumb but mine stems from a childhood experience that everytime i see a bunch of small holes like that it just triggers it. For real. Thank you.
Stunning finished product! My only critique, if you will, is the squarish ends of the base where they meet the top (as seen at 28:29). I would have made the radius flow all the way up to the top. Another thought I had when you were talking about jigs is - maybe utilize the cnc for making jigs. As a former cnc programmer and operator, I know this is often a "6 of one, half dozen of another" on time spent so it really comes down to how efficient you are at programming etc.

I may not be able to afford your work, but I personally think that the people who can, are getting these things at bargain prices. I just appreciate your sharing your journey with us. Thank you.
I call bullshit on not taking $7000 for it
@@chuckhansen5325 You don't get it because you didn't watch the fucking video..... He turned down 7k in profit because he talked them into a circle instead of the pill design. And yes having been a wood worker for the last 32 years I can tell you like he said in the video. This table is around 10.5 out the door. So yes ANYBODY would turn down 7k when the slab itself cost 3600. Turn your fucking brain on before you comment again. 7000 barely covers the cost of the wood and shop costs. You have no idea what you are talking about and you clearly didn't watch the video because he breaks this all down for clowns like you. Pay attention.
Stumbled on this randomly, and watched it in its entirety.
Love, love the final product!
Beautiful.
Cheers!
Cracking blend of design and craftsmanship while still letting the beautiful timber be the star of the show. Awesome work Sir. P.s. the animations help.
I'm not a huge fan of circular tables per se but this piece is absolutely gorgeous and I would be so thrilled to own something as beautiful as this. 🥰
Hide this table from duddly boys of wwe or else they will use it in their tag team matches 😂😂
Just had to like your comment for using "per se" correctly and not spelling is "per say." I may have been reading too much amateur fiction lately...
As a connoisseur of the interwebs, it's always great to find channels like this... where the creator has a passion for something completely unrelated to entertainment, but then also has a passion for putting out a great product on this platform too, and we get results like this. Well done.
I personally appreciate your insight into how you worked with these clients. You had helped advise me on IG about a built in desk I created for a client, and honestly, this video did exactly what I was hoping to see from you as far as communication with the client. I am also very critical of myself, so being asked to "surprise me" can be incredibly fun, but also anxiety provoking. I appreciate your approach, not to mention, this table design and execution is incredible. Thank you for everything, and as usual, great work.
I do think this is one of your best designs. It just looks very organic and flowing. I hate epoxy and fact that there is only connection line makes it so much better.
I love the table! It has a mid-century modern feel to it. I especially love your design for the legs.
Now I want to be able to afford custom furniture just so I can ask for a pacman and ghosts instead of bowties under my dining table 😆
Beatiful build! I was really digging that base design and was so happy to see you and Braley agreed so I'd get to see it realised
When. you're ready...I'll be here to make that Pacman and ghosts table.
@@Foureyes.Furniture don't wait for them. next build. I think this could be your signature ( hide some detail that may or may not ever get seen) But a cnc pac man and ghost bowties would be pretty epic.
@@Foureyes.Furniture Endless design ideas for the Bow tie. I was thinking Sneakers, baseball bat, pizza. But then it came to me....Glasses, Foureyes.
@@jimmya4217 Genius! 👓
The end though...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You're a fun guy to watch and yep, when a client gets like this I can relate. Awesome work, chief
Thank you sir...I try to be :)
I got a heart palpitation when that dungus said that good lord
Like I am still buzzing with anxiety on your behalf good lord
This is not a table for 20 years. This is an heirloom piece that can be passed on to future generations. Don't sell yourself short.
Beautiful. Great graphics. Hilarious customer reaction.
Thank you :)
Holy cow! I’ve been watching for a while (since the Ryo Sonoda days) and man I’ll tell you what, it’s been amazing seeing your projects, and your view on design progress in this direction. The way you present your design decisions with reasoning, visualization sketches and renderings makes the process so enjoyable to watch. Being a designer myself, this table gave me goose bumps seeing how everything came together to make such a gorgeous piece. Keep up the amazing work!!!
Thank you so much. The Sonoda days are probably over on UA-cam...but not in my headphones while working from time to time :)
100% agree - Chris and Shaun are my two favourite makers and i have to say their most recent projects respectively are amazing. More of the same please!
I'm an architect and amateur (very) woodworker, and love your videos. Funny, informative, just very good. Top banana.
Your drawings ALWAYS add to the experience and the lessons you have to impart.
I was confused by the clients reaction at the end. Was that the actual moment they saw the finished version for the first time? Did they like it?
I want to know the same thing.
It's a skit, they liked it
Thank you
I like everything about this video. The design, the process, the explanations, the humor, the way you implemented the advertising which is a very bearable method in my opinion, the drawings and graphics to show and explain things and finally the length of the video 😅
Thank you, thank you, thank you, and thank you...really appreciate that :)
I'm thinking you could theoretically make a table that looks good both round and extended with some clever use of bookmatching
that would require a slab thick enough for four slices though
This is an amazing table! your videos are great and helpful to those of us trying to get better at woodworking! Thanks.
I agree that the base of this is the focal point and star of the show... it's amazing. Your attention to the grain is what makes it perfect.
You asked: yes, I love your graphics.
Question: was that the client's actual reaction, or did you all set us up for that?
Thank you...and yes, that was a set up. The client's were good sports and did some acting. They actually really liked the table :)
@@Foureyes.Furniture OMG!! I am SOOO relieved. I felt like a doofus for not being able to tell if they were joking or not. "And the Oscar goes to..." 🤣🤣😜😝
That table is beautiful.
Thank you. Just watched 90% of this. Beautiful craftsmanship. Lovely soothing voice. Terrific tools. Wow table. Thanks.
Before watching this video, I decided to heat up my lunch in the microwave. I went with 1 minute 43 seconds. That wasn't quite enough, so I did another 17 seconds and now it's perfect. Great video by the way.
I would have suggested a first ride at 1:44 for button pushing efficiency....but to each their own :)
@@Foureyes.Furniture 99 is pretty efficient, button-wise (beats 1:39).
I favor the button that adds a minute and starts all in one go. Hit it again and you have up to two minutes. Just pull the door open when you think it’s done. 😂
Push|Push|Pull ✅
Absolutely Love your style, in furniture design, video editing, and voice over work(& design graphics), don’t change a thing. I feel that your evaluation(valuing) of your work is spot on and would happily pay if in my budget. But I’m just a laborer with a penchant for woodworking myself, so I look towards your work for inspiration. All my best to you.
Thanks for showing the pencil for the mildly curious as I fall in that category
I encourage everyone to at least try.
love the what you just said.@@OneTruePhreak
Honestly one of my favorite videos to date by 1 metric butt load 😂
Super awesome design and perfect execution.
Good job 👍🏽
Nice...that's a full 160 dominos of liking above the rest :)
About a foot long.
For the record, the graphics you use are a big reason ive subscribed to your channel for years. Its different and adds alot of clarity with your explinations and has helped me learn and improve as a woodworker.
Love your stuff man. Always. Working on the deskquire and almost completed it. Videos are stellar as well. Thanks for the inspiration, hope to be done and send you guys the results of the deskquire soon. Oh and don’t pay attention to the noise.
Nice...we look forward to seeing it. Hope it turns out great!
Both of you are great, love the subtle jokes vs slaphappy stuff you see on other channels. Really like the development you both have had over time. I feel like we are learning with you. And thanks for making us all potential caulk workers 😂
Thank you for the kind words...and definitely happy to shed any light on caulk workers that I can. Especially the relief cutters. Unsung heroes.
You’ve reached another level here.
Seriously, If I saw this in someone’s house (the entire table, including the base), I would stop where I was to look at it and say things like, Whatever you paid, it was worth it.
I agree this is one of the best pieces you've built so far, and man, what an evolution has it been.
Also, trying to imagine Dolores's face when she sees you calling her a "tool" lol I suppose following up with calling yourself a tool might soften the blow a bit haha
"Don't get cocky kid!", and please don't ever lose your great sense of humor! This was an absolutely gorgeous work of art and I am sure it looks even better in person. Thank you.
Wow, thank you! Really appreciate the kind words :)
The last five seconds... 😇
Well done, Chris. Now I'm wondering about my pores.
They are small...don't stress about it :)
Love the graphic add ins. The design is stunning. Great attention to the finer details is what makes it an heirloom piece!!
The watermelon graphic really made the difference for me.
I did it for Gallager :)
You were right, the base stole the show. Incredible work. Let's see a pac-man and ghost inlay on a future build. 😂
100% gonna do that
@@Foureyes.Furniture you REALLY should... maybe an arcade cabinet? lol
This is one of the best works of art and craftsmanship I've ever seen.
Just wow!
Table looks great. I’d go with an extendable table for party/game nights.
BEST video ever. Chris' manner of speaking over the action makes watching these videos rather entertaining as well as informative. Subbed.
Literally one of the flyest and talented wood workers out here.
How can the narration be as good as that table!!?? How?! How is that possible?!
Emotional reaction to this table, ❤❤❤ pro glamour shots much appreciated.
Wow! I LOVE the shape of this table. It flows and is so expressive. It is something I would have LOVED to learn in my art classes in college. Thank you for posting this video. I really enjoyed it. You are very talented!! Your table is worth waaaayyyyy more than $7,000!! $15,000 perhaps, or more.
Probably won the award for the smoothest and most laid back person to call their spouse an absolute tool
wow it genuinely looks like it's worth 10k, the craftsmanship is so impressive!!
I love the way you break down the price on everything and your attention to detail is amazing
Incredible table build. Great video. We have a gate-leg 7 foot ellipse table we love, had up to 13 people squeezed around it.
You can never go wrong adding visuals. Beautiful work!
For real. Thank you.
I do like the graphic references. They keep me engaged, and help me mentally conceptualize the project even when i might not think I need it.
This is an absolutely beautiful table. I love everything about it. A true work of art in terms of workmanship, creativity and materials. Wow. 🤩
