Last time I saw them was back in 1984 for the "Seven And The Ragged Tiger" tour. I saw them at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, Canada. Little did me and my friends know, but they were shooting footage for the "Reflex" video. During one of the songs (can't remember which one) I jumped up into the center of the aisle (beginning of the upper section) and started doing some funky dance...and the camera crew caught it! I was immortalized in the "Reflex" video!! My friends still razz me about it...
I saw Maroon 5 a couple of years ago; I looked around and EVERYBODY was filming them. I see this footage and people are clapping with the beat, bouncing to the grove and just…having a great time. It helps that the band can fuckin’ rock it!!! This is how you do a live concert. 🥰 I cannot wait to see live music again.
What a great song, even almost 40 years later, it still holds up. I was like 5 years old when this song came out. I still enjoy it. I wish I still had my sister's 45 record...
I'm not a huge fan. I like their music but what I really admire is how they still tour, make music, and haven't deteriorated with age. Pretty amazing and more rare in music today. Even through their music was born out of the 80's pop trends, they kept it going. Amazing.
not accurate. their musci didnt emerge from 80s pop trends. it emerged from 70s, and 60s music eg bowie, kraftwerk, roxy music, chic, and joni mitchel, velvet underground, and punk. this is what made DD.
saw them in cardiff, lucky enough to meet them!!! down to earth lads who just want to put on a great show!!!!! still fresh and still on tour!!! ohhhh that bass!!!!!!!
I always wanted to know who is that "crazy horse" in the Reflex video. At last I know! that was YOU!!!!!!! You did it very well my friend! You are a part of the Duran Duran myth!!!!!!!!!! :))))))
I remember watching this DVD when I was 7 and I didn’t know anything about Duran Duran but I was mesmerized by the concert and now I’m turning 17 and I’m still a huge fan of Duran Duran thanks to my mom and saw them when I was 11 in Toronto and New York for my mom’s birthday
Damn...that voice. It's still there :-) Simon is forever a snack, even with the unfortunate beard :-P If all of the bands from the 1980s were on a sinking ship and I could only chose one group to save, it would have to be Duran Duran. They still got it!
Still as amazing as the first time hearing it. I don't usually like live but I very much love this version. I'm the one racking up the "views" because it's on loop! Cheers!
Duran Duran are an English New Wave band, formed in Birmingham in 1978. They were one of the most successful bands of the 1980s and a leading band in the MTV-driven "Second British Invasion" of the United States. Since the 1980s, they have placed 14 singles in the Top 10 of the UK Singles Chart and 21 in the Billboard Hot 100 and have, according to the Sunday Mercury, sold more than 100 million records
Love this song. It's one of those songs that's stayed with me throughout the twists and turns in my life. Last night it hit home. I was outside and looked up in the sky, there was strange lights behind the clouds. There was no planes or copters, nothing like that in the sky. Maybe someone was playing with a lazer light I don't know but it transfixed me watching this. This song kept going through my head...crazy stuff happens...last night's lightshow whatever it was was a weird one!.
I listen to Hard Rock and Metal music like Muse, Slipknot, Gojira, Rammstein, Lamb Of God etc... what the hell am I doing here? 😳 I don’t know why but guys... this band is amazing. AMAZING... I don’t really like soft and pop music but Duran Duran is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING
It's not about soft music. It's what music transmits to you. I also listen to rammstein and slipknot and both bands have slow romantics. Duran duran is a great band with many magnificent hits. Enjoy friend and leave prejudice elsewhere. I recommend talk talk. Another great band q hard little
In the 70's all I listened to was Pink Floyd until the 80's came around and Duran Duran came down to Planet Earth ! Actually this song was written in 79' but was not released as a single it was put on their first album !!! Seen them live three times once with The Fixx and twice with Talk Talk..... Still one of my favorite bands !
I wish I Could Go Into a Time Machine And Travel Back To The 80's
No you don't. Pop tarts
