- Today AD is welcomed to Southern California by creative powerhouse and Jungalow founder Justina Blakeney for a tour of her vibrant and welcoming home. The Spanish-style home and 2,700 square foot property are a slice of paradise, built in the early ’30s with traditional Mediterranean details and midcentury-modern flair. Blakeney, along with husband Jason Rosencrantz and contractors New Generation Home Improvements, tweaked the original five-bedroom layout to better suit their family's (and growing creative empire's) needs - including converting the garage into a guest room/workshop ideal for testing her new wallpapers and bedding. With every room set to evoke a different mood, it’s all hyper-eclectic. “We were really intentional about creating different spaces for the experiences that we want to have in the home."

One thing this house does EXTREMELY well is maximalism without losing focus. Yes, there’s color and stuff everywhere, but somehow the eye is never lost in everything. The earthy tones are present, so the house still does feel natural through the great interior design.

Looks like Chaos, AD what is the meaning of this showing salvation army thrifted esthetics in interior design I am unsubscribing today.
My sentiments are the exact opposite. The first few scenes were confusing and overwhelming to me. Even when she said "The focal point of this room is the fireplace", I didn't know what she was talking about. This, because so much was going on in the space that everything was the focal point for MY eyes, fireplace notwithstanding. This means NOTHING was the focal point. Some of the rooms, e.g. kitchen, dining room, bedrooms, indoor courtyard, were fine, but others were just too much for me: the clash of colours, textures, etc. I understand that this is what Bohemian decoration looks like, but that doesn't mean I have to automatically like and enjoy it. The best thing about this house is that it obviously reflects her personality, and she loves it to bits. So that's what she should hold on to, regardless of what anyone thinks.

Genuinely one of the most beautifully decorated and designed homes I’ve ever seen! I usually avoid color when decorating a space, but Justina made the eclectic colors and pieces work incredibly together. LOVE LOVE LOVE

After neutrals being the primary trend for over 10 years, I tend to shy away from color too, even though I love it! I'm starting to gradually incorporate more of it in my home. I think I was scared to commit to bold colors, for fear that I would get sick of it before I even got around to finishing the room (we're newly married and just starting out, so we have to decorate a little at a time).

She is so delightful. Her laugh and smile are so infectious I would watch an entire show with her! Although maximalism isn’t my personal taste, I am enjoying AD showcasing more eccentric styles lately. Designing a house like this clearly involves so much more boldness mixed with technical genius in comparison to the current trends (which I also enjoy but they don’t hold up to her designs). She is absolutely brilliant. Before watching this video I never thought a style like this would be for me but her house is so darn beautiful and cozy and full of original design inspiration that I now want to live in a place like hers. Good job featuring her, AD. One of the best house tours I have seen on this channel.
I was so pleased to hear her call the color in her bedroom teal. To me that is a true teal color. And I like that her home isn't a stark white. She clearly loves and appreciates color and various textures. And she featured them very well throughout her home.

Love everything about this cozy home, especially the vibrant colors that makes it pop and give it such a unique flair! Such a refreshing change from the sterile looking white/gray/tans that tend to be so boring.
Her energy and passion is infectious! I love her work and have added a few of her pieces (art, design from target, books) to help add fun, warmth, and earthiness to my home! It is truly a reflection of the owner. Some features of the layout combined with the design are very practical in-terms of living, an element which I think is missing from a lot of the modern homes these days. I love the fact that the house is so cosy and welcoming and that someone has put so much love and effort in making it what it is. If Bag-End in the Shire was designed by a Diva and not Bilbo this is how it would look like, at least in my mind. I mean it with all the Love and respect in the world.

This isn't my taste but WOW, she's done a spectacular job. When she described what she was trying to achieve I was thinking 'well, you've done it PERFECTLY'. It really is a gorgeous home; magical, fun, intelligent and hugely theatrical whilst still being warm, friendly and inviting-- I'd imagine very creatively stimulating as well. I love seeing the homes of people who are almost 'set designing' and curating their idiosyncratic personal spaces and making them atmospheric, intelligent and utterly inspired.
