Sooooo... the Nav was lost from the HC-130P, but the HC-130J gained a CSO? In other words the Navs changed their job title and in the process someone got a wonderful OPR for saving money by eliminating navigators.
I was thinking the same thing. Back in the day, they were called, "Navigators". I guess when you remove the periscopic sextant, you have to be called "Combat Systems Officer". That's the way she goes.
