Pretty sure Audi were only successful due to being the first to do 4WD. By the time anyone else caught up, they leap frogged them because they went mid mounted engine, which Audi refused to do. Perhaps it's valiant to stick to being more like road cars, but you're doing well if you beat a mid engined rally car with a front engined one!
It isn't about price. It's about rarity. A Lancia Delta (any of them) are more rare in the US than a M3 and that's what will keep this car's price higher. Very few M3's are as rare as this car.
m3 is another league...lancia is an awesome classic as well...just think that the m3 is even more legendary...its N/A, its faster its 6 cylinder and the motor is stronger

David Ha its easier to import cars from Japan. Getting answers and getting all the paperwork done correctly from a European importer is a pain in the ass. Meanwhile in Japan there are dozens of professionals inporters to help you.
Ryan Rohauer I know it doesn't make sense, but they love LHD cars. Perhaps it adds to the exotic nature of the car, but *all* the Italian cars I have looked at importing have been LHD. Perhaps a Japanese member can explain.

Lancia had to sell 400 of these in order to compete in the WRC so they were never built with the intention of mass production in mind,it was simply to get them into the championship and nothing more.The car proved to be in demand and after Lancia's wins in the WRC and as a result I think over 40,000 of them were built(including the lower spec HF) Why they kept it left hand drive God knows but I'd imagine it had something to do with that crazy(a screwa them)Italian way and or the extra cost of making them right hand drive wasn't worth it. As for the Japanese having left hand drive cars it's actually seen as a status symbol there,someone driving a left hand drive car in Japan is seen as successful and their car is seen to be exotic as a result. Hell I've even seen Japanese people walk into a Toyota dealer in Japan and order their brand new Glanza V in left hand drive,a car built only for Japan so never designed to be anything other than right hand drive were being sold as left hand drives for absolutely no genuine reason whatsoever other than to be seen as successful. So for any Americans reading this look long and hard on the JDM auction websites such as TradeCarView etc,your dream JDM car can actually be bought with left hand drive.They're rare but their there.
Without doubt, this has to be the best hot hatch ever made. I drove an Integrale some 20 odd years ago and the experience always brings back pleasant memories. What a car!

I have a red Lancia HF Integrale Evo. I'm taking care of it and in the process of stating the engine. I brought it from a old guy. It has like almost 10 years that it hasn't been turn on... It has 22,369 miles on it. Liked the video without watching it, watched it and now i'm more motivated to start that car and use it!

energymc22 a guy I know used to run a little garage out of a industrial unit, doing typical mechanic jobs, he changed my brake discs & pads on my Evo IV & at a very reasonable rate too. Then someone brought in a Lancia Delta Integrale, it needed a new water pump, 8 hours later it was done, 8 hours labour for a water pump. Not long after that he decided to close his little business, maybe it wasn't doing too well, maybe the rent went up, I'd like to think it was fear, fear of anyone every bringing in another Lancia Delta for him to do routine maintenance on.

That beast is a CLASSIC... one of the very best rally cars, along with the Ford RS200, the "Cosworths", Peugeot 205 Rally, Lancia Stratos and Audi 90 Quattro. The 80s were the best time for rally cars and the competition itself.

Saw one of these at a rally in New Jersey, some guy brought it just for show. Very nice guy that knew a lot about the car, and definitely put a smile on my face for the whole day. Can't wait til the Evo 2's are legal here.

I have one of these. A martini 5 EVO. Awsome car. Not to be underestimated & the repro 17in speedlines wheels weren't stock on the FE EVO.. The trick to driving these things fast is to keep the throttle even through the corners and pick up the boost off the turn 👍

6 times world champion in a row. None could do that. It won 47 rallye competitions. Lancia Rallye crash (2 people died) in 86 changed the world of Rallying. Lancia, first car with a 5 speed manual gearbox, first car to ever own a V6 engine, first car to ever have an electric spoiler, first car to have both supercharged and turbocharged engine...and much more..Thats Lancia..This car is like Muhammad Ali or Bob Marley, or Ayrton Senna, they are gone, but they remain ligit forever.
FIAT got over-extended... they had just about the resources to develop cars for one upmarket brand and, when they acquired Alfa Romeo, FIAT ended up with two that in many ways overlapped. So they decided that Lancia had to go back to its roots as Luxury maker, and leave the sporty side to Alfa Romeo. This in the end became costly trimmed-up FIAT for Lancia, while Alfa got a little more freedom in the chassis department (the only saving grace of Alfas having always been that they were fun to drive and that, alas, cannot be achieved simply with a nicer front fascia). Unfortunately, you can sell crap to people only for a while...though it may take years, sometime, before the average buyer realises it (... see Volkswagen in Europe now... )
I know, I know . Having been born and lived there most of my life, I still follow the old country, so I know that VW is still perceived as quite a good brand there, even while the reliability data - at least in other markets - are abysmal, and the driving quality is often Toyotesque (and I do not mean Supra, Celica 4WD or Initial D's AE86 - like).
People take at least one car generation, to see that a marque has dropped the ball (or, conversely, that is doing better). Mercedes is on a downward spiral from the W210 onward (though the W212 E class are a nice pull back to better times, the various FWD are a disgrace), BMW does its usual job (.. a 3 cylinders on a series 3... ) and Volkswagen is overextended and fucked up brutally with the dieselgate (essentially killing the diesel passenger car in the USA, among other things). I am not sure about Toyota - its expansion has brought on models assembled outside Japan with less than stellar build quality, and the unintended acceleration case showed that their software R&D was atrocious. Honda is doing its cars, but has lost some footing on the technical side because it had to divert quite a bit of funds to rebuild factories that were almost destroyed during the earthquake that also destroyed Fukujima. Mazda is doing better than usual, and I am told that also the duo Kia-Hiundai (they are part of the same group and share parts and R&D) is on a roll. Anyway, if I can afford it, I hope some day to buy a Giulia. Reliability is nice, but an Alfa is an Alfa.
Well, to be honest Lancia weren't that good at making cars that sell to regular consumers. You know - sensible, reliable, fairly priced. I absolutely love Lancia, just like many enthusiasts around the world. But you can't deny it's easy to see why in general public didn't find the brand attractive enough to buy their cars. Every Lancia that's been great was exorbitantly expensive or just rare. Their complete madness and ingenuity produced some of the best racing monsters world has ever seen, but it didn't always translate well to their road cars.
My buddy in Italy had one of these when I was stationed there. I had 2 months of driving it and will NEVER forget it. So much turbo lag....but it handles amazing!
Put a decent resonator on it and you'll get rid of any raspy, farting tone. Think of an exhaust like a trumpet, the expanded shape from a resonator helps it, well...resonate lol
you need to listen to subie's and mazdaspeeds (with exhaust mods). they have a similar sound. i can only assume that thw Lancia has an unequal length header setup. thats a key component to that 'subie rumble' sound.
Love the Lancia, always wanted one, my mate had one in the 80s and whenever we went anywhere he drove it like he stole it, come to think of it maybe he did.
Finally! An owner as cool as his car. And in this case that's really saying something because he brings to the party a close relative of a world champion rally car, an ultra-rare Lancia Delta Integrale. Even with only 250 HP it's a blast to drive on the twisties and has Matt grinning from ear to ear. (Whereas a couple weeks ago Matt was all tippy-toes piloting a hopped-up Hellcat on a back road, and so glad when it was over.) Proof once again the pleasure is in the driving experience, not the numbers you generate.

You guys had a lot of fun, thats great. It's indeed one of the coolest cars ever build. But it's not the last evolution of it. The last version was the Lancia Delta Integrale EVO II, with bucket seats and 211 horses, build from 1993 till 1994. BTW if the central looking is not working on one side an electric wire is most likely broken on the opposite side at the swing of the door. Cheers Oliver
This beauty is a dream of mine, my father's friend had an integral HF turbo ( a basic one with 170-180 hp Front wheel drive ) and i still miss it, such an experience, older cars had so much character to offer, newer ones just can't match them !

i live in italy and in my village an old man oun a red lancia integrale. that thing look cool. in reality is actually very small and is low and wide. everytime i see it my blod pressure falls down. now i don't live there anymore and i'm so sad i never ask the man if i can be in the passenger seat. 14 years ago one was offeref to my father for 6500 euros. at the time it was just an old car and my father didn't bought it because he considered it too expensive. now a good one starts at 70000.

Having been born and lived there most of my life, I still follow the old country, so I know that VW is still perceived as quite a good brand there, even while the reliability data - at least in other markets - are abysmal, and the driving quality is often Toyotesque (and I do not mean Supra, Celica 4WD or Initial D's AE86 - like).
People take at least one car generation, to see that a marque has dropped the ball (or, conversely, that is doing better).
Mercedes is on a downward spiral from the W210 onward (though the W212 E class are a nice pull back to better times, the various FWD are a disgrace), BMW does its usual job (.. a 3 cylinders on a series 3... ) and Volkswagen is overextended and fucked up brutally with the dieselgate (essentially killing the diesel passenger car in the USA, among other things).
I am not sure about Toyota - its expansion has brought on models assembled outside Japan with less than stellar build quality, and the unintended acceleration case showed that their software R&D was atrocious.
Honda is doing its cars, but has lost some footing on the technical side because it had to divert quite a bit of funds to rebuild factories that were almost destroyed during the earthquake that also destroyed Fukujima.
Mazda is doing better than usual, and I am told that also the duo Kia-Hiundai (they are part of the same group and share parts and R&D) is on a roll.
Anyway, if I can afford it, I hope some day to buy a Giulia.

Well, to be honest Lancia weren't that good at making cars that sell to regular consumers. You know - sensible, reliable, fairly priced. I absolutely love Lancia, just like many enthusiasts around the world. But you can't deny it's easy to see why in general public didn't find the brand attractive enough to buy their cars. Every Lancia that's been great was exorbitantly expensive or just rare. Their complete madness and ingenuity produced some of the best racing monsters world has ever seen, but it didn't always translate well to their road cars.
My buddy in Italy had one of these when I was stationed there. I had 2 months of driving it and will NEVER forget it. So much turbo lag....but it handles amazing!

a lot of engines sound unexpectedly good with a straight pipe, it's mostly illegal everywhere so it's uncommon on a street car

Put a decent resonator on it and you'll get rid of any raspy, farting tone. Think of an exhaust like a trumpet, the expanded shape from a resonator helps it, well...resonate lol
you need to listen to subie's and mazdaspeeds (with exhaust mods). they have a similar sound. i can only assume that thw Lancia has an unequal length header setup. thats a key component to that 'subie rumble' sound.
Yes it has a very unequal length exhaust manifold, a bit like an old Saab 900.
I'm jealous right now, Farrah. I'm a massive Lancia fan and this example is lovely. This made my day a whole lot better.
Love the Lancia, always wanted one, my mate had one in the 80s and whenever we went anywhere he drove it like he stole it, come to think of it maybe he did.

Finally! An owner as cool as his car. And in this case that's really saying something because he brings to the party a close relative of a world champion rally car, an ultra-rare Lancia Delta Integrale.
Even with only 250 HP it's a blast to drive on the twisties and has Matt grinning from ear to ear. (Whereas a couple weeks ago Matt was all tippy-toes piloting a hopped-up Hellcat on a back road, and so glad when it was over.) Proof once again the pleasure is in the driving experience, not the numbers you generate.
I hope we will see Escort RS Cosworth in a few years time here. Or at least a Sierra RS Cosworth 4x4 or the Merkur equivalent of it.

But it's not the last evolution of it. The last version was the Lancia Delta Integrale EVO II, with bucket seats and 211 horses, build from 1993 till 1994.
BTW if the central looking is not working on one side an electric wire is most likely broken on the opposite side at the swing of the door.

This beauty is a dream of mine, my father's friend had an integral HF turbo ( a basic one with 170-180 hp Front wheel drive ) and i still miss it, such an experience, older cars had so much character to offer, newer ones just can't match them !

i live in italy and in my village an old man oun a red lancia integrale. that thing look cool. in reality is actually very small and is low and wide. everytime i see it my blod pressure falls down. now i don't live there anymore and i'm so sad i never ask the man if i can be in the passenger seat. 14 years ago one was offeref to my father for 6500 euros. at the time it was just an old car and my father didn't bought it because he considered it too expensive. now a good one starts at 70000.
