Hello Kier. Is it possible to record a ext midi track with 1 instrument from the MODX, and then record a 2nd track with a different instrument from the MODX? I don't want to record an audio track just yet, but just have the ability to have 2 ext mid tracks with 2 separate sounds from my MODX. I have been following your videos, but have not been able to solve this problem. Every time I add the 2nd ext midi track and the 2nd instrument from my MODX, the first ext midi track instrument sound changes to the new instrument from the 2nd track. Thank you.
I recently purchased a MODX and attempted to connect it to my Mac. I used GarageBand to test the sounds, and I can hear the built-in sounds of GarageBand just fine. However, I am unable to use the sounds from the MODX8 itself as output. I'm not sure where the issue lies in the settings. I have installed MODX Connect and Yamaha Steinberg USB Control Panel. In MODX Connect, both options under "Recall" are grayed out and in the "Set up" section, it displays "no assign." However, I'm certain that I have connected the device to the computer via USB. I would greatly appreciate any assistance. Thank you!
That sounds very much like the USB driver has not been successfully installed. Do you see an active MODX device in Audio MIDI Setup, in both audio and midi managers?

The MODX Connect version is Modx Connect 1.2.0, and the Steinberg USB Control Panel version is Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver V3.1.4. In the Mac's Audio MIDI Setup, I can see the MODX with 10 inputs and 4 outputs (indicating it is connected to my MacBook). However, when I open MODX Connect, the two options under "Recall" are still grayed out and cannot be selected. I'm using a MacBook Pro 2020 version. I was wondering if you could assist me with this issue. Thank you.
I'm hoping this isn't a silly question, but in MODX connect under the Setup tab, where it says "No Assign", are you able to click the drop-down gadget to the right and switch "No Assign" to "MODX"?

What you are suggesting is absolutely possible. I wonder if perhaps you have your MODX set in single MIDI channel mode?
