*Papa Roach tapped into teenage rebellion and pain. Ronnie's version taps into the broken adults still trying to heal.*
I see the song as a person who shows how broken he/she is to someone or a friend, and then mask all its brokenness to others as if nothing is wrong... this applies to everyone regardless of age...
Ronnie did to this song what Disturbed did to "The Sound of Silence". Completely reinvented the song into something different.
1,000% agree
Would love to see Ronnie and David from Disturbed do a song or two together! It would be LIT!
Someone commented somewhere that the original was sort of the teenage rage/anger threatening to end it all, and this is the adult depression, crying for help before resorting to suicide.
Very powerful lyrics, and Ronnie made it even more impactful with his insane performance!
Yeah that's where it's at for me. As a teenager the song helped me vent those emotions. But as an adult it's just represents the fact i've accepted that my death will be by suicide and i'm only waiting for my mother to die first so that she doesn't have to go through the pain of losing a child to suicide when she lost her own mother to it. But once she has passed, i'm not hanging on past that.
totally see this! as a long time papa roach fan i never reaaaally paid attention to the lyrics until i heard this version. it hit harder imo
It is definitely in the same vein as Johnny Cash covering Hurt (NIN), the tonal change and ways in which it is sung gives it a new perspective for the listener.
@@daltonevans3412 I might not know the right words here, but I felt the same in the past, kind of, until I found a friend who was able to bring me out of that darkness in just 5 days. I know that's not how it is for everyone and for me, it was a miracle even getting to know that person, but I wish you can live for your mother. Wishing you the best, no matter what. I'm glad you're around and also able to enjoy masterpieces and reactions like these. If you can get any help, I wish you find someone who can help make it better, I genuinely mean it. You made it this far, despite it sucking and I'm happy and proud of that. Hope you have a day better than the usual ones, I really mean it.
Now he's just showing off 🤣🤣 Absolutely amazing reimagining. Such a criminally underrated artist.
Yeah ronnie been takin victory laps at this point.
He claims the main vocal was a raw one take. And the whole song only took 25 minutes in the studio
@@kimgriffith1798 I read that somewhere 🤯 which just makes it even more epic. God damn, he's outstanding.
So true, and yet such a compliment: Now hes just showing off. So good
If he was someone else, he would be labeled iconic or epic! Ronnie is iconic and I hope he keeps pushing the envelope on his music and with his vocal range! F all the haters, love to Ronnie and FIR!
Soon after the release of watch the world burn he said wait till you see whats coming next. Your gonna lose your minds. I think he delivered that spot on
We are honestly so lucky to be living in the same era as Ronnie and being able to experience his mind through music. You think he is at his peak and then he does it again and again. No other artist could pull this off!
Facts 💯
I’d argue that the ONLY other is Dimash.
Experience his mind through music.....that's beautiful
Wondering what caskets could have done with a cover like this
Anyway you guys could recommend me more people like Ronnie, ive just recently been getting back into the loop and could use some more good suggestions, some of my music background is Cancer Bats, Coheed and Cambria, Alexisonfire, Tokyo Police Club, He is Legend, Death from above 1979, Billy Talent, SOAD . Anyways cheers if you can ❤
This is so good, and watching the world burn and then repair from one video to the next is so clever. Great reaction, Josh. I'm sure Jacoby is smiling and proud.
I can’t believe I’ve watched so many reactions to this and I’ve never once heard anyone mention the fact that the opening scene was falling in reverse literally. That and the fact that it’s a perfect example of falling down and getting back up again. Starting a new life. Moving on. Hence the covering up the tattoo work. The lyrics are the same but the way he sings it makes you imagine a different story. Reimagined. Genius
Falling in reverse for me means going up. 😂
Love how you say: "He has ascended through the BS", "He's a whole different thing". Totally feel that
When I first saw it I thought oh, reimagined, must be one of his older songs. Then the first line hits and I was worried. Ronnie is great, but this song is very special to a lot of people, myself included.
By the end I was just sitting there with my mouth hanging open. Ronnie pulled out the essence of it and just laid it bare. It seems like such a simple arrangement, but the emotional content is staggering. He knocked it out of the park.
Ronnie took the lyrics and just made them his own in this cover, you can feel the passion behind the words and can tell the the original song meant a lot to him.
once in a while there is a song that just gives you goosebumps every time you hear it - this is definitely one of the them
“He’s a level above.” Perfectly stated.
Whether it’s pencil & paper, or a multi-million dollar project, art is supposed to make you feel and wow did Ronnie & team create a beautiful reimagined.
Legendary artists have a very prominent habit of shining through all of the darkness thrown their way.
In a dark world, the brighter souls experience more hell, and I feel it remains true. To be able to articulate, express, and connect like Ronnie has, there’s no doubt in my mind he is “a level above”
Great reaction friend!
Love Ronnie and his reimagined songs. They are on another level....I cant wait for more.. He is amazing....NEVER disappoints me.
i heard this song live so many times. i listened to this since day 1 was released back in the day. This version has given me goose bumps and tears. the original never has done that to me. amazing job
Finally!!! I’ve been watching soooo many reactions to this song waiting for someone to mention how this and Watch the World Burn go together.
This young man comes very close to Chester Bennington. As with Chester, you can feel the pain in his scream. LP should get him and work with him. He sings like an angel and screams like the devil. Just great 🖤🎧
Just like him, you feel the pain because he transports it authentically. Just great, can't get enough. I think he would be a worthy successor to Chester and could revive LP. Nobody can replace Chester, but this young man is damn close. He gave me goosebumps like only Chester could.
Your reaction to this song is my favorite! I agree with all your comments about Ronnie rising above all he’s been though. I’ve had this song on repeat since it dropped and loved it. Ronnie’s voice is so beautiful and powerful, and he conveys so much emotion ❤️🔥😢
@roguenjosh you are the first reactor I have watched who noticed the tie-in to Watch the World Burn, thank you!!
Has anyone not mentioned that Ronnie showed this to Jacoby and he loved it. Congratulated Ronnie and gave him his thumbs up approval? There's a YT video of it too. Ronnie was like a little kid doing show and tell.
Of all the reactions I’ve seen to this song you are the only person that noticed the ending! Good on you mate!!
you are the first reactor I see that mention the relation of watch the world burn and this one... I've been having this same thought, wondering if this is the pt2...
Josh, it was so emotional! I really loved to see your reaction! I felt the same way...we were young and rebel and now we are adults and sometimes tired and this song is part of our lives...it was so good!🖤
I'm obsessed with this. I can't stop listening to it. Anything Ronnie and @seanrooney do together is just magic. Nice reaction Josh.
Been watching like 100 times now and still get goosebumps ❤️🔥🤘🏻
Gives me goosebumps EVERY time I listen to it!
This never gets old, I have watched it and reactions to it hundreds of times. So many lyrics I didn’t get with the original. The original is like teenage angst and this has matured into adulthood. Ronnie is so damn talented 🖤
I liked how you started out saying Ronnie is turning the music world on its head, really fitting description considering the start of the music video xD
You are only the 2nd reaction I have watched this entire time who has figured out the connection to the watch the world burn video... I was screaming at the screen in my car... Josh, please get it, come on, come on.. YES! HE GOT IT! FINALLY! 😂😂😂
No one is putting the two together like I thought they would. 😂
The Ronnie cinematic universe is getting bigger and bigger 😂
@@little_pixie_nerd I knew he was up to something else bc he never came to Twitch to watch reactions for watch the world burn like he always does.. 6 months almost he's been off the grid. I just didn't know what he was up to and if I had to guess, again, just guess, I feel like he's probably already knocking out what comes after this. He usually goes 6 months or so in between releases. People hate on Ronnie A LOT, but even if you don't like him you have to admit the man has a ridiculously strict work ethic. Shooting videos like this, touring at the same time and singing every other night for months at a time and he just never stops. I think if he had to slow down he would absolutely be miserable.
@@saintoflostcauses absolutely agree with you 😊
@@little_pixie_nerd I also haven't heard anyone, so far, mention that at the end that the buildings were "falling in reverse".. 💜 The video of Jacoby watching this was sooooo good!
Amazing reaction, thank you!
When he Screams I'm fine i get goosebumps all over.
Ronnie is incredible
Да, Ронни сначала разрушил мир своим чудеснымголосом, а потом собрал его по кусочкам.. и так же с моим сердцем
Yes. No words.
With 💕 from 🇫🇮
Ronnie's version really turns the song into someone vulnerable opening up about the depression, despair and destruction of their soul. We get to see the first steps of recovery, admitting the issue, and just like the background which had collapsed like a the mind of a depressed person, it then repairs itself.
One take in 25mons just to see what it sounded like and it lead to this...absolutely stunning...JS shared a reaction on Instagram earlier and I think it's fair to say...he loves it 😊
Ronnie and Sean Rooney just don't miss. Ever.
Of all of the reaction videos I've watched for this song (and there's been a bunch...I LOVE this song), you are the FIRST reactor to actually catch, mention and associate the end scene with Watch the World Burn. The first time I watched the original video and came to the very end scene, I felt like Ronnie intended for this song/video to be a reversal of the destruction and chaos that occurred in the Watch the World Burn video. FIR's videos are becoming mini movies that should be watched in order to tell a complete story.
You are the first reactor in like 10 that ive watched to actually notice that the ending is the reverse of the watch the world burn video.
Crazy how listening to the song from Papa Roach, you get a more angry, F you feeling. But this version…. Wow. It puts such a heavy, deep, intense level of emotion to the lyrics you didn’t pick up from the original version. It almost sums up what the song is meant to capture as a whole. Insane. Amazing. Blown away
I’m reminded of when Johnny Cash covered NIN Hurt. Such an inspired version of the same song and theme and brings a great new interpretation of the lyrics.
Yay I am so glad you finally reacted this Josh
That is something truly inspiring. Ronnie deserves all the praise that he gets. This here is an artist that keeps elevating his own game, who keeps digging deeper, and knows what works. Great song, great review.
While also improving as a person. His daughter should be proud of him
Music is a reflection of the soul.
Man, this song hit me so different. Ur reactions are always awesome. Ronnie is the best
I watched a lot of reactions to this reimagined version and yours is the most genuine, emotional and heartfelt one.
What a beautiful way to end men's mental health month with a BANG!
Ironic pride month and men’s mental health month is the same month?
@@puritywept Well actually it's not. Mental health awareness month has been around for some time. Pride month was established for the same time for a reason, espacially men in the community have been dealing with mental issues their whole life.
It just got a really sour after taste lately due to the controversy surrounding the whole gender debate.
Don't forget, the pride movement in it's original meaning IS still important
@@JohnnyMcmoney666 my beliefs don’t align with the pride movement or any gender movement. So I won’t waste your time with useless debate. Good day to you
Ronnie is an actual music GOD!!
F***ING beautiful. I cannot stop listening to it. 👏
The reimagining of this song, for me, was on the same level as Disturbed's Sound of Silence. Right on par with how epic both versions of the songs are compared to their original versions.
First reviewer to get that it's a sequel video for Watch the World Burn. Sick reaction as always Josh!
I’m an Aussie too and my son is about your age. I had never heard this song, and I’m really into music, and so is my son. He had heard of Papa Roach, but never this song. I’m assuming it wasn’t big here, and wondered when you heard it? This version is magical!!
It was just released
@@CoyotePrettyPhotographyI’m talking about the original by Papa Roach? Never heard it here when it was out
Ronnie never disappoints and such a genius.
3:57 -4:21 could not agree more. I used to look past him and the band, thinking that they were all emo punks, but listening to Ronniie, both as a person and as a lyricist, I have a whole new respect for him. He truly cares. About his craft, his band, and his fans. Not many times you can put all three in the same sentence or breath, but he's managed to do that.
*always has been template*
you: wait, he's a whole other thing now?
us: always has been
Heard about this on octane…downloaded it on a whim just before Octane played it, I’m not mad about that decision
Papa Roach seemed to emphasize the anger, whereas Ronnie conveys the depression. Both are incredible and leave an undeniable impact.
This rendition really highlights the depth of the lyrics. It is an emotional punch in the chest 😢
This is audible therapy for our fucked up lives.
I can't even imagine anyone else being able to reach this pinnacle....
I really liked your ascension analogy Josh. I agree totally. I think he took the advice that my late Father gave me. “if you find yourself in hell , you don’t linger and look around. You plow ahead head down until you find the exit and you don’t look back. Keep what you learned and let the rest go!”
In the original Jacoby shattax's voice brings out the anger the frustration to the lyrics whereas Ronnie Radke's voice without a desperation and the sadness to the lyrics
It's Watch the World Burn.... IN REVERSE! 😅
Beautiful song, beautiful reaction x
Now vocalists realise what guitarists felt like when Malmsteen arrived
given your tag name, hope your a fan of rogan josh the curry dish. Joking aside thanks for your review, I'm glad that FIR and Ronnie took the song in a more somber direction to better reflect on the brokenness and agony of the lyrics. Great job, the last time I was this impressed with a cover was when Disturbed did sound of silence.
Papa roach sang this to the kids/teenagers we were and ronnie is singing to the adults we are now
Stunning!
I never actually listened to the lyrics of this song till this version.
Ive posted this on other Reaction videos.. but.. little bit of a personal story...
This Reimagined version:
Goosebumps...... just.... goosebumps...... And quite a few tears.... 😭
The Original:
The original song, came out at a godsend moment for me. I was dealing with a relapse (for lack of a better term to use) of a medical issue in my late teens that had my lungs randomly collapsing. Was in a really dark place due to the constant collapses + scars from surgeries..... the Original is what kept me from staying down and gave me the strength to claw my way back out of that pit.
THIS is how i felt when i heard the original.. THIS is what i was hearing when i heard that original song... its what gave me the courage to not back down and give up.
Yes i was 'head-banging' to the original (i even do the same to this version, just at a more sedated pace), but the feelings THIS song give.. are what i was dealing with at that moment...
3:53 = that moment when i was at my lowest during those days, literally teetering on a knife-edge ...... 4:00 + is what this song, in its original form, did for me
We had jared leto! And now ronnie! I would love to see ronnie in a movie❤
Bro he’s better then anyone rn talent wise
The original is how you present your feelings to the world. Ronnie’s is how you present it to yourself…
I was there on the birthday stream
The piano progression in the first verse reminds me of Dream On by Aerosmith
Masterpiece
there is a video of Ronnie showing it off to Jacoby
Never new the lyrics were this deep!pheww
After watching him letting papa roach listen to his song. Then the whole band talk about about meaning of this song. If I remember correctly, he did not write the lyrics. A friend of his who killed himself left these lyrics.
So beautiful ❤
Papa Roach Last Resort is now the cover, this is the original 😂
I love the enthusiasm but pump the brakes champion
The original made me angry and this version made me cry. Just a masterpiece.
Someone said paproach version was us falling apart an dthis version is us healing
Felt that
With falling in reverse im just here for the ride i cant see a song from them that i wont love
Awesome ✌️✌️👍🇬🇧
I hope he takes on a Linkin Park song, imagine how emotional that would be
❤
Man could do any genre...i just dont know why he gets all the hate. Maybe because of the past events but we all make mistakes🤷♂️
Ronnie radke is a legend
Epic miusic XD
we need Ronnie and Amy Lee to do something together
This is like james blunt or what was his name or back street boys ballad. Nice video though.
The sound reminded me of linkin park a bit
😍😍
Like imminence.. only difference is. Eddie does those songs live. I dont see ronnie doing that..
I really really hate to be that guy but can you take a mantle from a guy that was never better than you? Dude from Papa Roach can write his ass off but vocally, that is also not a contest.
Meh he will probably complain that people r copying him again 😂
New fan here because of this take but my only complaint is the talking over the video. Please pause then react.
Like the original better😂
You went into this completely with a negative attitude. Closed minded music appreciation? stick to metal.
Reacting to the video: talked over the video 13 times,. Stopped the video completely 0 times . Benchmark result = Bad
It is even possible that no one noticed that the entire music is written and arranged by an amateur musician? He is called Sean Rooney and it’s freaking talented.
Arrangers take a back seat. Thats just the job. You get credited as a writer but usually very few people even notice the arrangers as the focus is always the artist. Just the way it is. Thank you ❤
@@SeanRooneyMusic it’s a pleasure to get a response directly from you…yes I know it but in these cases I think you deserve a lot more of attention. Just saying.. congrats!! ❤️
Dude why have you not reacted to Johnny Booth yet? Don't sleep on them
❤
