Brings me to tears EVERY DAGNABBIT TIME. Ronnie helps bring out what I’m feeling & help release it. It’s honestly part of my therapy.
A HUGE positive with Ronnie’s stuff… you NEVER have to worry about copyright stuff. He owns all of the rights to his music and he has said MANY times that reactors never have to worry about getting dinged for copyright for listening and reacting to his music. God I love that man… lol
Haha so far, no I don't think I've run into an issue. I WILL say, there are videos where I can't fully monetize or his label flat out wants it, but they don't like block videos. But believe it or not, even his videos I can't always get that sweet ad revenue for. Not his fault though. Some just slip through the cracks perhaps.
My eldest son really crystalized the differences for me. He said the original Jacoby version is that confused angst when you're going through shit and hoping for help. The Ronnie version is that calm silence within when you've made the decision one way or the other, the anger is replaced with resolution.
I'm 42 and our daughter is 17. It's amazing how much more mental health aware she is at that age than I was.

I also love that you did a back-to-back showing Papa Roach first. Makes a difference in how you digested it if you’ve never heard the original song.( which I of course have)
I think the original version's lyric "I can't go on living this way" is implying "I can't go on living." And Ronnie's version of the same lyric is implying "It's time to change the way that I'm living," so for me Ronnie's version takes us on such a journey, down to the depths and then back up again.
This song actually is the song that jumpstarted my love for this band. Always heard of them but never listened to their music, as soon as i heard this i went down the beautiful rabbit hole of Falling in reverse and now my current fav band ever❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ i love how you did both versions to compare it is just incredible🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

Ronnie absolutely nailed this song in the most intense way ever. He took Papa Roach's lyrics and put feelings into it.... it's absolutely intense and amazing.
The original is the teen angst and the remake is the adult depression, it's the evolution of growing up
Yeah "reimagined" is far more accurate than "cover". Like 2 different songs, and you really hear the lyrics.
This sort of comparison vid is what I meant in chat a while back when I said you should do some "double features".
One I suggest for a similar level of difference is "Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss", and the cover by "Hellsongs".
I never realised quite how deep the lyrics were.
Shit hits a whole lot different with that delivery. The way you looked watching that is exactly how we all felt watching it.
I was one of those angry teenagers in the 90s...life, family, health, loss of years and loss of people I loved have made me into the broken adult that Ronnie's reimagination of this song was made for. It hits my soul in both versions.
He knows how to sing powerfull with over 9000 emotions. It hits very hard. Emotional damage every time i hearing this.

I went through so many emotions ang chills when FIR released the reimagined. I never thought about the lyrics of papa roach´s original, like you said. They are both so damn good.
I remember hearing Last Resort by Papa Roach when i was younger & despite my male friends dancing/moshing to it, I realised it was a dark song. Skip to hearing the reimagined version by Falling In Reserve in a place where so much of my life has changed, chronic illnesses, pain, surgery, mental health & so much loss, the loss of my Mum (she was just 53 & I 32) had me (still does actually) & in a very dark place, that when I heard this version I was in tears, it hit so different.
Enjoying your reactions so far, I've only watched the Ren & Falling In Reverse ones but look forward to watching more. Just like you I grew up listening to such an eclectic range of music & still do & I love that, both my parents were very much into music & my Dad & I still go to gigs together.
Sometimes we need the music & sometimes we need the lyrics.

What I always say about the original and the reimagined is that the original version showcased the surface level emotions of anger and angst that “sue-i-side” (dunno what I can say without getting blocked! Lol) but Ronnie brings out the deeper, true emotions involved with it - sadness, desperation, and hopelessness. The original for me is what the angsty teenager me needed… but the reimagined is what the grown ass adult in me needed. If that makes any sense lol
100% and I think that's kind of what I was saying too haha. Exactly. I like that it seems we all are having that shared thought process ha.

new subscriber, I got turned on to FIR when i found "im not a vampire" (original version). Starting with "Popular Monster" watching in order of release, feels like the struggles he has been through, but he is still here and playing his heart out (litterally). He has made some bad choices in life (just like all of us) and he keeps going. Stronger than i ever was. He is an insperation to keep moving forward in life, keep at it. If you have done your research on Ronnie, you would have a glimpse of the struggles he has been through, there are easter eggs in almost all of his videos, you have to really pay attention, (Voices in my head) (Zombified).
From the little I've done, I've definitely picked up on and know his struggles, pains, and strengths. The man is a walking pound of strength; it's admirable. And yes, should check out some of my FIR reactions on the channel, I have several and they're all a good time. :)

Papa Roach version was for a adolescence, while Ronnies version is for our aulthood. If you know what i mean.
High School is real in the original. I think I first found it when I was 8 or 9, which would’ve been when it first came out. I shut myself in a room with a stereo and I think that’s the first time my parents expressed concern about me in a real way lol. Thus my love for this genre of music was born.
Though my Dad shouldn’t have been surprised since he listened to Mealoaf, Def Leppard and other similar shit.

@@TheBlackSpeed Worth the feels though. If you don’t overplay it, it never stops hitting. The good thing about Falling in Reverse is that you can go from song to song and never get the same genre twice so that itch never really goes away.

@@TheBlackSpeed That’s the spirit. I’m subscribed so I’ll be waiting. Those two songs are different and have some more metal elements and the sound mixing quality isn’t as good but you see the elements he’s so good at now, like transitions between the genres.
The rap section in Champion is his best that I’ve heard also.
My son and i just watched this entire playlist! Love it!! You definitely need to check out Zombified, Coming Home, and Game Over!! The first two have music videos and the third has a lyric video. The difference between all three is amazing!

For sure my dude. I mean I grew up with a mind fuck of different types of music. From Elvis, The temptations, Hendrix, ACDC, Snoopdogg, Tupac, Creedence Clearwater and so much more. But rock/metal fueled my day to day.

The Papa Roach version was that of a young man just coming to terms w a diagnosis of mental health illness.
And Ronnie Radke (Falling in Reverse) version, is that same man. Now an adult and parent. Yet still struggling w these issues, white knuckling each day. Trying "to not" unalive themselves!!

The original had the weight that it needed, but it seemed to be a shared weight. Propped up by the beat and the tempo. Ronnie stripped that all away so that the only thing that was left was the gravity of the words and he put a gravitas on it all with his slower tempo and exposed the lyrics for the weight they were meant to carry.
Definitely agree. It's kind of what I was saying in the video, how we were maybe (as kids) potentially distracted listening to the first song (even if we felt the angst) but now we have no choice but to sit in the discomfort and pain of the lyrics via Ronnie's vocals. Very impressive, what makes him such a talent.

Haha so.. WEIRDLY, I didn't get goosebumps watching it but I think it's mainly because I was honestly just too struck. Like I was too invested? I don't really know the reason. I know I FELT something, just not that part of the brain for some reason. But I 100% enjoyed it, as I have with just about all his songs so far.

It was so nice....or refreshing for me to see you get emotional after living with a narcissist for 14 yrs! And tomorrow is his day in court for attacking choking me. I asked for no contact while awaiting court. THANKFULLY he was escorted here to get sum things after jail and he took IT ALL! So I'm free of him but not of the memories n pain he caused me. I was kind of the same way, it was hard for me to really get into what they're saying when I was younger because I was mainly either looking to distract, disassociate, or dance haha.

I just realized we are around the same age. You are carrying getting close to 50 rather well. Not sure what it is with how young we all look. It's probably because we avoided the sun. I mean, we were the test group for video games, and if we are so similar, you probably play video games with your child and watch more anime than anything else these days.
Haha isn't it funny how millennials are aging backwards and gen z is aging forwards? It's wild lol. But I'm actually closer to 25 than 40! Don't age me like that! Haha.
And you'd be 100% spot on. Gaming and all that is life, I'm all about that culture, and my son for sure appreciates it haha. I don't know the reason we (especially me.. wink wink) age so well, but I'm happy for it!
@TheBlackSpeed seriously? I guess this song came out a lot later than I thought. Is Green Day older than Papa Roach? I guess I was in my 20s. I will be 45 in August, and my first system was an Atari. It has been a weird life. We went from riding bikes outside to playing console games to these new computer things, then someone invented the world wide web, and suddenly we were in middle school. Guess that would have been around your entry. I could have sworn I was in high school when this came out, but I am getting older and can now use that as an excuse for my faulty memory.

I’m actually mad at myself… I heard some political comments by Ronnie Radke a while ago and it turned me off. I never ever listened to his music.. somehow I tripped into this one and it was fantastic. I love what he did to Papa roaches song blown away. I just wish people would stop talking about politics.
